I have re-joined after a long absence to put on record how disappointed I am at the recruitment this summer. Despite it being obvious to anyone with half a brain giving injury prone 35 year old Rodman a new contract was simply an awful financial/business decision. Was obvious after last few years he would hardly play and shock horror he is on the treatment table again wasting a wage that could be spent better elsewhere! The signings of fellow 30 somethings such as Hughes, Coutts and Pitman so far appear to be an utter failure and waste of money. Again too old and completely past it! That brings us to deadline day with the utterly disgraceful signings of Clarke(36) Whelan(37/38) and Brown (32). Already Clarke has done his hamstring and no doubt Whelan won't be too far behind him and I just find it incredible that Wael sanctioned Joey to sign such a load of old and past it players when the wages could of been much better spent on younger players who will actually stay fit and be able to play with the energy that you need to be successful in modern day football. With Coutts, Grant, Finlay and others Whelan remains the most pointless and baffling signing of all time for me. Would rather give Hargreaves/Mehew a game than sticking someone who is nearly 38 in the heart of the midfield. I really wanted Joey to succeed but just don't understand what is going through his head at the moment or in recent months. Seems to have signed a load of his mates with no thought of a long term plan which is frustrating as he seems an intelligent guy. Need a YOUNGER consistent formation and team and play on the front foot. Plus potentially the best player Thomas is not even being named in the squad at the moment. Very worrying times at the moment and I just don't see where we go from here unless Joey loses his stubbornness and admits he has made some huge errors in the transfer market and goes with more legs and energy in the team. For what its worth I would go for something like this tomorrow. (Shame Nicholson is injured) Belshaw Hoole Taylor Harries/Kilgour Anderton Finlay(c) Grant Anderson Evans Thomas Collins Subs - Saunders, Hughes, Pitman, Brown, Hargreaves, (Ward) If not going our way 2nd half get Pitman or Saunders on for Grant and go two up with just one holding midfielder! UTG!!!! We needed a bit of experience in certain areas. No mention of us putting our a young team, for a few games in a row though I see??? In one league match, we had two outfield player’s over 24! One was 26 and the other just turned 29. In the trophy match, of the 14 player’s that took part, it was the same two that were over 24! It’s inaccurate that we have an old squad now. The majority of our new signings and squad are of a decent age. The problem is, we have not been good enough so far. Signings look worse, as we had such a shortage before. The average age of the squad isn't really the issue. The advanced age of the players brought in to fill key positions is.

That's the one. Butch Cassidy was Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head. Hey, I love Dylan as a recording artist which is why it's all the more disappointing he was so shockingly bad live. Like he was making a point that he'd rearranged every song into a 12 bar blues shuffle style so people wouldn't be getting what they wanted. I'm surprised. Any fan of Dylan should know he has a habit of being a complete dick at live shows. He has a long history of deliberately P?!sing off audiences. Shame, because he is a good artist. On the other side of things, I saw The Cure about 20 years ago and they were absolutely amazing. They played 2½ hours and it was like listening to a recording of every song you would ever wish them to play. (If you are a fan, obviously ) I did know that about Dylan but before witnessing it myself I thought it was just the purists having a hissy fit. Love The Cure. Never seen them live though. But I understand they're still touring.

What a bizarre statement to make - based on what? Given half of last years team now play for clubs in an entire division higher, or at least clubs in a higher position, couple with our horrendous points return thus far, what makes you say that? We look better on paper at least, with plenty of experience and at least strikers who have regularly scored in the EFL, it's irrelevant where last season's players are now playing as we need to be competitive in L2 not L1. Why the likes of Hughes and Coutts are playing so poorly is hard to work out. Plus we have the usual issue when we have a bad season of a number of our best players out injured, Jaakola, Clarke and Nicholson, with Pitman only semi fit. Today looks like a massive game for Barton, put in a decent performance and at least score a goal or two and we seem to be turning the corner, at least at homeN. Play poorly, lose and you do wonder if it's worthwhile Wael sticking with Barton as we can't afford to then lose to Walsall and Swindon. How can players being at higher ranked clubs be irrelevant to the question of whether or not this team is better than last season's? It's not only relevant it is literally the point being debated. Also - "We look better on paper". What? How's that? Have you looked at the league table? If not guess where you can look it up ... in the PAPER!

Hanlan had 100 league appearances when he joined us. Nicholson something like 175 in MLS. Oztumer 170 odd in the league. Not exactly bereft of experience up front and in midfield. Also Baldwin and George Williams at the back. !00 games is about 3 years worth of league experience, hardly the 300/400+ games/10+ years of experience the likes of Lines and Mansell had played, Nicholson also seems a youngster, Ozt went missing once he succumbed to COVID and Williams was a PT rather than a BG signing. So what? You said there was no experience. You're wrong and I've just proved it.

Not sure we had much experience last season, Ehmer seemed useless as a leader at the back, we had no experience in midfield and none upfront. This season we've gone to the other extreme, Jaakola, Rodman, Hughes, Anderson, Whelan, Clarke and Pitman are all the wrong side of 30. Hanlan had 100 league appearances when he joined us. Nicholson something like 175 in MLS. Oztumer 170 odd in the league. Not exactly bereft of experience up front and in midfield. Also Baldwin and George Williams at the back.

That would of been an equaliser no guarantee of promotion. It was 1-1 when Stewart hit the bar and Taylor sliced wide unmarked from 3 yards wasn’t it? We were losing 2-1 from 80 minutes. Browning nearly equalised straight away and Stewart in 89th min.

You could see we were in the ascendancy, Browning had forced a worldy save a couple of minutes earlier. I'm fully convinced an equaliser that late in the game would have put us on top and buried Huddersfield. Only because we were chasing the game, virtually every team drops deep and hangs on with minutes to go to defend it's lead. OK fine - I've changed my one imaginary goal to two imaginary goals. Happy now?

This for me too. This was the sliding doors moment for the club. Stewart scores and we return to the championship. Stewart stays. We return to Bristol at the Mem. The what ifs there are endless. That would of been an equaliser no guarantee of promotion. You could see we were in the ascendancy, Browning had forced a worldy save a couple of minutes earlier. I'm fully convinced an equaliser that late in the game would have put us on top and buried Huddersfield.

I never wanted UWE and was pleased it collapsed. Why? I don't think we need to own a completely new ground in the middle of nowhere. The Mem is our home now. It has character and well situated in the heart of a community. I've always wanted to see a nice neat redevelopment to give us something like Craven Cottage.

I’m annoyed at this. I have no medical expertise at all but said several times at the time he signed his hamstring will go again. At his age tearing it twice in a year it doesn’t fully repair again especially to be a professional footballer. Who in our medical dept thought it would be ok. Ridiculous. So now we’re left with next to f**k all up front. Joey's medical department as well. didn't he bin everyone as he moaned about poor diagnosis and fitness etc Haha! Jinx! See above.

How about Sainsbury's not pulling the plug on us. Imagine if they actually held up their end of the deal, we could be in UWE by now. Wonder if it would of been great. I never wanted UWE and was pleased it collapsed.

And change one thing that happened at Rovers, what would it be? It could be a transfer, result, appointment, release, off the field decision, anything at all to do with the club. Wembley - 28th May 1995. 89th minute. Stewart scores instead of hitting the bar.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I saw him at Nottingham Ice Arena in about 2005. He had a full band and played keyboard. Every song was arranged in a 12-bar shuffle so every single one sounded exactly the same. Absolutely awful. The worst live music I've ever seen and I include kids school plays in that. Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid - 1973 Seen him live in Cardiff twice - never had the best of voices, but as a poet/songwriter, the best of a generation imo. That's the one. Butch Cassidy was Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head. Hey, I love Dylan as a recording artist which is why it's all the more disappointing he was so shockingly bad live. Saw him at Glastonbury festival in the late 90's, the crowd went mad. Also thought he was brilliant the film about Billy the Kid' forget the name of the film, but his classic Knockin on heavens door is my all time favourite Dylan composition. They've decided Oldie is to be the latest victim of their "I'm being bullied by you" bullying campaign that they previously subjected Roverdrive to.

I think we all need to learn to stop being offended so easily. I'm sure it must get boring when nobody bites. They'll hopefully then sod off to Facebook instead. I disagree, it shouldn't be a case of we say what we want and if someone gets upset then it's their fault. We don't know what anyone is going through in their lives outside of this forum and whilst I'm not saying we can't say boo to a goose, we just need to all be a bit more considerate with our comments. We can disagree and debate without the need to get personal Some take the disagreement and debate personally despite it not being personal. It is truly bizarre.
