Transfer window is July 27th to October 5th for EFL and Premiership clubs.. So I guess we won’t announce any signing until then. I take it that is fact timsbury? If so I wonder if that means rumours of a September 12th is wrong because I’d be surprised, even with this crisis, that the season would be a month old before the window closed. Could it be a later September or early October start. If so we’re going to have a two games a week season to be finished early enough for the Euros. Club secretaries or rather CEOs now will have a busy time over the next few weeks. UTG! Has to be sanctioned by FIFA and there may be a extra 2 weeks for just domestic transfer, ITK on this one........it’s on the bbc sports page.

Hold it outside working hours if they want more to participate. And allow questions on the fly and people to attend at will. Allowing questions and letting everyone attend would result in a complete shambles.. Even having 50 on a zoom call takes some organising.. Anyone who wanted to involved today had plenty of opportunity it was all explained on the web site.

Football fans are fickle. If we had a stadium and were top 6 championship we could expect to match the 82'ers crowds. Both team will sell 25k tickets easily per game in the premier league especially in the first season. Greater Bristol population is over a million and relatively wealthy. All we need is a stadium. Relatively wealthy? Not sure 60,000 people could easily afford tickets. That’s the crust of the matter City could attract 30k in the premier league but 90% of them will be the prawn sandwich bridgade paying £80 a ticket. The football fans will be watching us in the championship, a more competitive league, for £30, sell out every week..

The EP gets no information from the club, its all bits and pieces they obtain from other clubs, agents or crap like the EFL hub. last weeks article "The truth about the fruit market" or something along those lines. There was nothing not already known in that piece just rehashed in a different format.

What I don't understand is if we still have all the players furloughed, how can you bring in new players(employees) and start paying them.

Read on the other forum that August 2020 will be the centenary of Rovers joining the football league, the newly formed third division south, we wore white shirts and navy shorts, nickname back then was the lilywhite's so a white shirt would be appropriate this season.

It is likely the council will have to provide a alternative site for the businesses there to continue operations, this may be costed into any final amounts of the deal.

This lad has some really impressive contacts, if only he could get some to join the 1883 club.
Karim is an experienced media and communications consultant, who after graduating with an MA from the University of Westminster, moved to the Middle East and established a PR agency that grew to become a regional partner of Hill & Knowlton, representing some of the most renowned global brands including Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing, Visa, Jaguar Land Rover, Samsung and the Four Seasons hotel. Upon returning to the UK, he joined Bristol Rovers in 2016 in a business development capacity, helping the club work on all aspects of growth as it embarked on a new era under new ownership.

Debt free !!!!!!!!!!!! how many clubs can say that, with assets of a training ground and the Mem, makes us a very good investment prospect.

Anyone see the interview on ITV racing with the chap that was the groom of the winning horse Battaash,
first time he led a winner back in at Royal Ascot after 38 years in the job, described it as being almost as good as seeing your team win a play off at Wembley, Asked his team, he replied, the mighty Bristol Rovers.
Bob Grace his name.
sorry just seen its already on here

Looks like a good ideal, maybe we could bring back the South Wales academy as well, that always gave us a regular supply of talent.

If it is modular buildings it could be similar to the ones at Man City, Bolton and Wasps. Can be seen at SiBCAS.co.uk

Much as I see this as a positive development, I think we all need to see how it's going to be funded. Will it be more millions added to the pile, indeed has Wael got the money to do the deed without taking on external debt against the Mem. I seem to remember Nick Higgs doing that, However, if Wael can find a lender/investor (AJIB) it would be possible to take on a loan to get the project started. At the moment we pay about £50k per year on the Cribbs site. This is dead money as we get no future guarantees, as we are finding out now. With current rates as low as they are now, borrowing at 3% over base could possibly allow borrowing of about £1m. If however Wael decided to double the amount to be charged to £100k per annum it's not so clever, though it could allow borrowing to be increased to about £2m, preferably on a capital repayment basis. Strangely enough, a deal was proposed to Hani just after the purchase of the training ground, which would have been a much better deal for the family, as it would have kept the repayments in house, but of course there would be additional costs in terms of accommodation on site. I believe it was suggested that we should use a company called Modulek, who are based near Bournemouth to erect the relevant buildings on site to get the project going. The plan was fully tested in terms of cost, and was validated throughout, indeed AFC Bournemouth used this company to get their training ground up and running. However, Hani decided to turn it down, even though it was put to him by Steve Hamer, who was in his good books at the time. At The Colony, there is already gas, electricity and water on site, and indeed, a large area incorporating the two old pitches has been levelled. To make it fully viable it will need to be added to in the short term in order to get other interested companies, and indeed local clubs to make use of the facilities, which would then produce the capital required to quickly develop it to its full potential, at least cost to our club. This is obviously going to take the form of a quick fix in terms of getting a settled site for training, so has to be a good thing, subject to the way it will be funded, which must be carefully thought through in case it turns into another financial albatross around our necks. Sure Wael doesn't need advice on borrowing money, I think they teach bankers those sorts of things.

He hasn’t had long enough, a few long range efforts don’t make you a legend, unless your Gary Smart, by the way you missed the best two strikers off in Roberts and Cureton.

I don't think players pay tax via traditional PAYE, so tax on their wages is not payed via the football club. Footballers tax is likely paid by the players via their own accountant, using various tax loopholes etc. Edit - Furlough is PAYE only All footballers are paid their wages by the clubs through PAYE, it’s a league rule, money earns outside of wages ie image rights and the like don’t have to be, that won’t affect many in league 1&2. If someone is furloughed it means they are laid off, can not have anything to do with the business, so players can’t train, can’t attend clubs for team meetings etc, just have to sit at home and wait for a call to come back into employment.. What clubs are doing is furloughing club staff grounds man, shop workers, catering staff etc and asking players to take reduced salary’s.
