Went to Fratten Park in 1978. The Den at Millwall was closed after some trouble and they had too play home games 120miles away. So it was Millwall v Bristol Rovers in Portsmouth. What could possibly go wrong ! As you can imagine quite a lot, but We did win.3-1.The only time I have seen us win in Portsmouth. Also saw us play Portsmouth in a home game at Ashton Gate in1980 league cup after the south stand fire at Eastvile That was like a away game. Think that was 0-0.

Always two sides to a story, perhaps we need to hear the other side. These lads must have had a ideal they wouldn't be offered new contracts, playing at a much lower level and not excelling. Remember these lads are in the Conner Taylor, James Connolly, Luca Hoole, Elliot Anderson age bracket. These are the performance levels they should be aiming for and it shows age is not a barrier if you are good enough.

Very interesting tweet from Alex Rodman;
What a day! Without doubt the best culture, Team spirit and working environment I have ever been part of during my career. A pleasure to be involved with such a special group. Unforgettable memories and scenes yesterday. UP THE GAS.
At 35 not sure we will see him play again but you never know, Joey likes a good professional.

Pensionable age is now aged 66, wouldn't you have to wait for price reduction? Well he will be watered off now, probably thought he was going to retire in a few weeks

If anyone bought or read the programme from yesterday’s game, Tom Gorringe has put a full explanation into what the changes are for next season and the rationale behind it and also the approach they’ve taken to contacting people. Whilst there are changes and Season Tickets are not being sold in the South Stand, it is remaining open for Home supporters - there is potentially going to be the odd rare occasion where it won’t be open but that is very dependent on the opposition and how many numbers they typically bring when travelling. It’s being done to offer greater flexibility for home fans to attend as league rules state that 10% of tickets have to be offered to away fans… depending on whether they take the full allocation will impact the stand situation. In a nutshell there are a small minority impacted but the club are doing everything they can to try and resolve and in a positive way. Tom gives a really good explanation in his notes and it’s well worth reading and understanding as there is a bit of sensationalism going on in this thread I really feel as if information like this shouldn’t be published only in a programme only a proportion of supporters read but made available on the website and publicised on the social media channels. I read the Tom's piece on twitter this morning.

Ok I accept my memory may have been wrong but what other game would have been so important that the club hired a train for the supporters to travel on. Please tell me of another? In the late 70's we had quite a few trains under the banner of "RATS " Rovers away travel service. They were organised by the supporters club and it was one of these that this woman ( so called police officer ) that went mad. It was a RATs train to Fulham late 70,s. We all piled off the tube at Fulham Broadway and the nice boys and girls from the Met wouldn't let us off the platform, a crush quickly formed with WPC hitting fans at the front to force them back and others at the back, fearful of falling onto the tracks, were pushing forward, the ones in the middle crushed. Very nasty incident totally created by The Metropolitan Police.

A lot of fans are concerned about transport and the difficulty of getting to the new stadium by car, but when planning was granted for the Mem redevelopment there was a condition attached saying that park and ride had to be layed on by the bus company and club. As part of any planning permission the Council will need to see a transport plan which would require some sort of park and ride. I know this as TG spoke to me about it, a similar scheme was going to be brought in by the club before lockdown at the Mem , but after a survey of fans the response was poor then lockdown came along and we were relegated and it died a death. With park and ride and buses using the bus lane drivers might find it quicker to get away from the ground after a match than trying to park close to the stadium and getting stuck in traffic. Thing is if you want a quick get away at the end of the match and have to travel some distance by car get a seat close to an exit so you quickly get to the bus. If you want the park and ride to succeed you need to support it and use it. Coming from NE Somerset, I would be tempted to use the Park and Ride scheme, depending on where the buses left from. Otherwise it would be a case of driving to wherever a convenient bus leaves from. Drive to Keynsham or Bath train to Temple Meads easy from NE Somerset and Bath

How many of the younger players that have gone on loan have ever excelled anywhere and returned and got into the first team. Martinez came back and did well last season, but I cant think of any more. If they are first team ready they should standout in lower league football.

This is a very intelligent discussion into how our stadium news is progressing! Ffs! There is no news. Then why infect the thread with utter sh**e, some people come on here to hear news and gain opinions not to troll through pages of crap. Hopefully the new forum will be less childish. Bye.
