Regardless of the politics this whole scenario is just like our last relegation season, when a certain Paul Tisdale failed to recruit the striker that everyone including the players knew we needed to have any hope of staying up. Failure to secure at least one new midfielder and a striker Martin or whoever will leave us in grave danger of going down. Even if we do sign the aforementioned I still think an experienced central defender is needed to ensure we stay up. The hope that when everyone is fit we have a capable team is a pipedream, Wilson, Ward, Friend, Hunt etc are never going to have a long run of games, their age and injury record will ensure this. Thanks Mr Barton. Look, I am neither a Barton fanboy or a Barton hater, but I’m not sure we can lay our league position exclusively at his feet; he clearly believed that we were going to sign JCH as the “tip of the spear”, and when that failed to happen we were left with a team/squad that is essentially a blunted weapon. If, as appears to be the case, this was intentional on the part of Al Saeed Jr, it was either with the full knowledge and assent of AS Senior, or he needs to get a f*cking grip on his son and let some grown-ups run the club for him. Either way this appears to be on the Al Saeeds. They’re on their way to becoming the Glaziers of the 3rd tier at this rate . . .

Why do these posts always come after a run of bad results? To be fair, I started this, mainly out of frustration at how I have been treated, how others have been treated and then what is happening in plain sight caused by one of our owners running the club in a shambolic way. The results are usually the last straw of it all and I've kept my counsel for months. I could post a whole lot more, but what would be the point? It will either be questioned, i'll be accused of having an agenda or something else, like before. I was willing to let it go but then yesterday I showed someone a text message from one of the clubs board regarding the money I was owed when he asked me if I had been paid yet, and his reply was, "that message has made me angry". I then thought, why arent I angry about it? Perhaps I should be but I couldnt get that thought out of my head. I couldnt get to the game last night but wasted a tenner on ifollow to watch it and I spent all game thinking about the utter shambles of the last 6 months, which is now being translated onto the pitch, and then I heard MTs interview this morning and I thought, this is fast becoming a cluster and I'll drop a bomb. Low and behold, a poster here, whom I've never spoken to previously PMd me to say a friend if his had the same issues and gave me some helpful advice from a professional standpoint at debt recovery. You may think I'm being a trouble maker, I'm really not, we're getting a name for ourselves, and it isnt a good one and that comes down to 1 person. Abdullatif Al Saeed. He's losing control, if he ever had any to begin with and if his old man isnt willing to pull him up on it and give him some counsel then a few more fans might make him pay attention. To be honest, I had doubts about this lot from the day they were announced; now it is looking more and more like Wael has either intentionally sold us down the river or failed to do his due diligence on his co-owners before he sold them a controlling interest. I don’t think it would be the former case, so I hope there is some kind of “buy-back” clause in their agreement. Either way it feels as though we’re already not far off the point where we’re going to start seeing fan protests and “AlSaeeds out” banners at the Mem.

Dont believe the owners are providing funds and I wont believe it until i see these players come in. JCH IMO was just a show and they had no intention of paying for him. Think it’s become very clear, thst that can be the only logical explanation really. Given hours of notice what we need to do to extend. Miss the deadline to sign by ‘seconds’. Occam’s razor and all that. IIRC, there was a comment on another thread - possibly from Roadman, but don’t hold me to that - to the effect that Al-Saeed’s son had pulled the plug on the JCH deal at the last minute. No idea whether or not this is true though . . .

I'm utterly terrified about these owners. Something doesn't sit right at all. Same. Same here.

He said on the radio tonight that the contract is done and he’s just waiting for it to be announced Part of what Taylor said was: "As far as I was aware it was agreed and ready to be signed going into the weekend. There is going to be some questions there as to why its not been done yet" Well, that’s got Al Saeed Jnr’s fingerprints all over it then, hasn’t it . . .

Seems to have lost the ability to go past a player, can’t head a ball, no longer scores goals, has the strength of a 2 day old kitten, spends more time on his arse than the ball boys/girls and the easiest player on the pitch to dispossess. Finley came off tonight absolutely fuming, Collins skipped off like he hadn’t a care in the world. How much longer will MT want us carrying him. I said the same thing - for a tall lad he wins absolutely bugger all in the air, is far too lightweight and insists on going to ground rather theatrically when if he just stayed on his feet he’d probably score.

Positives: I had the best footie burger I’ve ever sampled tonight, from the east terrace hut on the corner that also does the duck wraps. It was sensational👌🏻 Bugger - wish I’d tried that - I had a Cornish pasty that had been nuked so much that half the paper bag was fused to the pasty! Thst was on the east terrace too. I’ll have to try a burger on Saturday then 😀

Just got back.. Brrrrr from a freezing, yet warmy welcoming bouncy at times Mem.... great to see, and more importantly hear the Souf Stand in half operation.... it's going to be delicious when in full voice.. Take a bow lads, we tried our best, especially LT my m o m and great contributions from Crama, Taylor Evans, Grant and goalscoring sensation but we huffed and puffed but just couldn't take our chances, and again we're prone to the sucker punch. Nice goal from Macca, he enjoyed that.... booking.com app open at half time looking for digs in Scouse land..... Second half tweak by Norwich, fortunate as one goal appeared offside but the flag never came, and one goal definitely a foul for penalty but totally unnecessary as they messed up their 6 on 3 move.....but TBF Norwich had more pace, time on the ball, control and we're awesome on the counter They ran out fair winners in an interesting encounter. We never let ourselves down, but we are what we are, a dysfunctional average 3rd division team with a spark of genius now and again, but our flaws and foibles let us down altogether too often. We're also a working progress. You can see what a well polished article looks like and we got handed it back to us in 2nd half, but everyone can take solace they performed very well. We just weren't good enough on the night and with best wishes, Norwich will take themselves off to Anfield and certainly give them a game ... Booking.com app closed....sod em. I'd rather beat Poxford anyway. Just got back! I’m still sitting in the carpark of the civil service club reading all this cos it’s chocka in here!

This female commentator is absolutely dreadful. To be honest, I don’t actually mind her commentary so much, it’s when her voice goes hypersonic and all the local dogs start barking . . .. And she gets far too excited whenever our opponents score.

Just listening to MT when asked about incomings and Chris Martin .... " I'm doing all I can to convince the owners he is worth a contract" - They are the blockers to any money being spent in this window - My confidence in our Senior Leadership team really is nearly as low as it was with Higgs ! Exactly - and according to Roadman there is a suggestion that Al-Saeed Junior pulled the plug on the JCH deal, for whatever reason - I will always be convinced that if we’d got him in the last window we’d be in the top six now, with or without Barton

No, what gashead would be? You’ll have to forgive us for being mistaken given your enthusiastic booming of a post predicting we’d lose 2-1. Personally, I was gutted we lost yesterday as for me it pretty much put a nail in our chances of a play off push. There’s no way I’d be so enthusiastic about getting a negative score right. Saved me the trouble of writing exactly the same thing

I've read some utter nonsense on here over the years but that's right up there. 🤣 Maybe, but the other view is: I don't choose where I live. I don't choose my job. I don't choose my husband/wife If that is the case, then so be it. I just live in a world where those things are a choice. So, for the majority of us (ie those of us who don’t live in middle-class Victorian England), we don’t get to choose where we are born, and where we live is subject to all sorts of other factors, such as affordability of housing, availability of work, etc; furthermore, most of us don’t have arranged marriages and have no control over who we fall in love with. Finally, for most of us employment is subject to what’s available and what we are suitable/skilled/trained for. It must be so easy when you’re from Sneyd Park, Redland or Westbury Park etc and live off the trust fund Mummy & Daddy set up for you, or “work” for their business, to sneer at the “lower” classes and feel superior because you don’t have to balance your love of your club against day-to-day survival for yourself and your family. ‘Part time’ supporters are very important too you know, not everyone is able to purchase a Season Ticket due to many, many reasons. They are no lesser a Gashead than a ST Holder 👍🏾 I'm not sure I agree with this. A season ticket holder is demonstrating a commitment to the club, a non season ticket holder isn't demonstrating that commitment. A season ticket holder would prioritise Rovers home games, a non season ticket holder doesn't prioritise that. Otherwise, why wouldn't you have a season ticket? It doesn't make them any more of a fan but it does show more commitment to the club and that should be recognised and rewarded by the club. Well, with all due respect, that’s nonsense. Lots of people aren’t in a position financially to pull out several hundred quid in one go to pay for a season ticket and can only afford to pay on a game-by-game basis. I’ve been there myself, and it doesn’t make me any less-committed than you, or any less a Gashead.

I'm told he's on 6k a week I would be staggered if he’s on this but I’ve been told Sinclair is near on this. We were going to offer Chris a deal until 31st July but AlSaeed Jnr pulled the plug on it until end of Jan. Now Martin has all the cards, clubs all over him but he wants to stay but rightly, he’s playing hard ball now. His interviews give this away, he’s really cool on it all, Notts County rumoured, he’s ideal for a side needing promotion in Div2. *DC gave Liam Lawrence the same sort of deal, he was with us in Div2 and into 1. *Oxford paying Brannigan £10k a week, wages in Div1 are mental now, Barry Bannan was on £20k a week last season at our level! Sounds like AlSaeed jnr needs to f*ck off and get a proper job
