Going off on a slight tangent, I think its great the banter that exists between the players across the age groups and playing experience. I think players like Lee Mansell keep the younger players' heads straight and focused. It also keeps them grounded when a senior player takes the mickey like that and the younger player can come back with his own humour. The first day of training is going to be fun to watch if Ellis is going to spend his time trying to "nutmeg" Mansell....

See, you've got me all worked up now. When you're about to give the wife the best seven seconds of her life, do you shout out, "in the hole!" ? No...."brace yourself honey..." Mind you for me it's a long time to remember back to....

I'm quite surprised by this censorship. It's amazingly hypocritical considering the amount of flack the old official forum got for manipulating threads that didn't toe the party line. The serious forum can't be taken seriously anymore. As Hugo has indicated the amount of censorship on either forum has been kept to the absolute minimum and there is a hell of a lot less than was on the old OF. No one gets threatening emails or letters stating that the law will be round or solicitors letters are in the post. And remember that the other forum is the ultimate successor of the Alternative Forum which was set up for those who were banned from posting on the old OF..... I feel that people trying to have a pop at either forum are just mischief making, after all its the close season and they have bugger all else to do with their time now the football's on hold.... It's good to be able to have different views and to be able to express them whilst (hopefully) respecting other peoples' viewpoints! As the French say "Vive la difference" and pass the garlic bread....

Really don't like the way this is being done Feels a bit fluffy. I'm guessing some players have been released? I personally like the way that DC hasn't discussed this with the papers. It means negotiations are ongoing.. I would think no ones has been released as yet or no doubt it would have been all over Twatter. I am sure we will know soon enough.

Im more shocked we havent. we use the bloody ground. Ye, we have got loads of money floating about at the moment. Sack the board. According to a statement issued by the Council we wouldn't/couldn't commit to being there this season. That may be due to the uncertainty around the court case. Interesting that we aren't making commitments to people that we can't meet and then leaving them out of pocket which is fair enough. Unlike a certain other team in 1982....

From the Rovers Twitter feed link ~ PUBLISHED 13:00 15th May 2015 A High Court judge has heard opening arguments in a week-long legal battle over the future of Bristol's Memorial Stadium site. The hearing is to settle an ongoing dispute between Bristol Rovers and Sainsbury’s over a land deal involving the club's current home in Horfield. Mrs. Justice Proudman, sitting in London, was told the football club agreed a deal with the supermarket chain in 2011, as part of its plans to move to a new ground on the Frenchay campus of the University of the West of England (UWE). The terms of the deal were that Sainsbury's would buy the Memorial Stadium for £30 million and lease it back to the club for a peppercorn rent until its move to the new ground was completed - at which time a new supermarket would be built on the site. The club would use the money towards financing the building of the new 21,700-seat stadium. At the time the deal was made, the court heard, there was no planning permission or infrastructure in place, the costs were uncertain and Bristol Rovers were still negotiating with UWE. Lawyers for both sides today outlined their cases to the judge, as a six-day hearing got underway. Mark Wonnacott QC, for Sainsbury's, said the supermarket giants believes it 'lawfully terminated' the contract when various conditions were not met. But the club's barrister, David Matthias QC, argued the contract is either still running, or has been terminated in breach of its terms. The hearing continues. So we play classy football as a team, get to Wembley with fantastic support from all Gasheads and all you want to do is start an argument between fans. How wonderfully self righteous you are... We are at Wembley, we need fans to be together supporting the team, OUR team!! COYB Bin laden was an arsenal fan, pretty sure their fans didn't all agree with his thoughts and ideology!!! Doubt they ever pulled together just because of a Wembley final!! Bloody hell, I am sure lordjusticegashead and lpgas1 will be well chuffed that you compare them to Bin Laden.....

I find it ironic how they chant "one of our own" and yet gave him so much dung the year we went down. He is a good player, he always was, he plays the way he is told too, like the rest of the team. If Lines had stayed, along with one or two others and Higgs appointed someone who knew what he was doing then the last 6 years would not have happened. And why we are at it who is going to admit to saying Clarke should never have been manager? I know there are a lot of you Exactly! Where's @roadman with all his "Corona" bulls**t now then? Did you notice Clark said he was going to have a few drinks tonight, @roadman? Are you going to p*ss your knickers at that too and start a witch-hunt against him? So we play classy football as a team, get to Wembley with fantastic support from all Gasheads and all you want to do is start an argument between fans. How wonderfully self righteous you are... As I said his goal return is a FINE return. I honestly feel that he could have been the top goalscorer in this League if he was a real clinical finisher. last nights goal was a clinical finish but he probably missed two better chances to score. I DO feel he is good enough to play at the next level up if we succeed in going up. One of the commentators said last night (and I agree) on one of those chances he had too much time. It seems he sometimes thinks too hard about what he is going to do. When he has to react quickly he seems to do well.

Simple No Win Sainsbury = Administration If we are still in the mickey mouse league then we are kicked out If we are in the League 2 then 10 points deduction Hence the term "lose the playoffs = disaster I think he has finally admitted what we knew all along but were told was rubbish.... No pressure on the team for the play offs then.....

If we fail to go up DC will have to rebuild the team anyway, players leaving for pastures new and getting rid of the crap ones Rebuild no, few minor tweeks yes. It will all depend on finances and whether the players who still have large contracts aren't sold off to reduce wages. I doubt if we will try to keep Lines if we stay down ~ I don't believe we can afford it. With parachute payments gone we will have to cut wages again. Anyway I don't want to think about that ~ yet! We have a league to get out of ! UTG

For those who tired of adverts ~ BEFORE this season kicked off in earnest I urged each Bristol Rovers player to say to themselves: “This is going to be my season.” I wanted them to perform to the best of their abilities, to play without fear and to try to enjoy themselves, however tough the task became. Well, I don’t think it has always been an enjoyable experience, particularly those painful early defeats at Barnet, Braintree and Altrincham, but few can accuse these players of not stepping up to the challenge when it was thrown down. The Rovers defence – which remains virtually unchanged from the one that slipped out of the Football League last season – has been nothing short of magnificent, having kept more than 20 clean sheets over the course of the season. The midfield, with the added experience of Lee Mansell and Andy Monkhouse, not to mention the battery-powered relentlessness of fans’ favourite Stuart Sinclair and the probing accuracy of Chris Lines, has proved more than equal to the task. And while, on occasion, the strike force has been our weakest link and is possibly the reason we haven’t already been crowned champions, in the last few weeks with the impressive contribution of a born-again Ellis Harrison we have shown that we can be as potent as league leaders Barnet. Now it comes down to just two games, knowing that one small slip can mean curtains for our chances of sealing that automatic promotion place. We must face Dover – a team who have an uncanny knack of upsetting bigger and more accomplished sides both in cup competitions and at league level on their own patch – and it won’t be for the faint hearted. Still, this is when the tough get going and the way Darrell Clarke has rebuilt team spirit in this squad has all been geared to these vital moments. This is the time for the players to roll up their sleeves, battle it out to the end and, just as importantly, be brave enough to show their undoubted quality. Do that and no Gashead can ask for more. For one player above all else I really hope the fairytale finish comes off. Last summer the vultures were circling the Bristol Rovers carcass with the intent of stripping it to the bone. Many were all too eager to depart, but though Lee Brown was a prime target he turned down the approaches of several league clubs to sign a new contract. He said he felt he owed it to the supporters, which was an admirable display of loyalty in this age of money-grabbing, badge-kissing fickleness. From what I’ve seen recently Brown, having added some England C caps to his impressive resume, is playing better than ever, his dynamic overlaps from left back causing severe headaches for opposition at this level. Another few top performances – even if some of them have to come in the playoffs – and Lee Brown will have more justification than anyone to say: “This has been my season.”

'Tis a bit surprising to be honest, thought we'd be on 1500-2000 by now. Fans are needed more than ever with five vital games to go. Grimsby are on a roll like we were in 2006/7 and their fans sense it. The matches I have been to this season it has felt that many of our fans are very apprehensive and won't believe we have a chance until the final game has been played and it has been declared that we are promoted. We need every bit of support we can get in these last games. UTG

You could have been, but you weren't. The FA are allowed to use their skill and judgement to decide stuff like that. They just need to decide it to their own satisfaction. It's not a court of law, and had it been, and had I been on the jury, I'd be satisfied that it's beyond reasonable doubt. To be frank, it's beyond reasonable doubt that you're a witless knob*. *Dear Evening Post, yes, that's 'witless knob' two s's and a k.but if a customer does something illegal in a shop, the shop wouldn't get punished, would it? How can they say it's the clubs fault!? The club has a duty to keep people out of the field of play at all times irrelevant of whether the match is over or not. I presume you have notified the club it was you.
