In the past we have always become complacent especially at home in front of a big crowd and cocked up when we have a bit of a run then have an easy game.
However I think the team we have now not only enjoy playing but enjoy winning and even drawing when things have been against us. They see it as more than just a job.
I am sure that DC will take this game as seriously as any and I think it will be 2-0 to the Gas!

Trying to do a Fleetwood.... Fleetwood still don't have many fans though, do they? I didn't think too many people went to see them. They don't have half of our crowds. They are just hoping that crowds grow but can't see it myself. Re the match, sounded as if we were comfortable until the car crash. Come on Gas we can still do this!!

Why are Eastleigh upgrading their ground if they can't even get 2,000 home fans? Becuase they are ploughing money into the club and hoping success will bring them more fans? Trying to do a Fleetwood....

You see what you want to see ~ most people are very pleased with the win. Pleased don't try to stir things up between the forums. It's quite childish to be honest. I've got better things to do than 'stir things up' between two internet forums mate. You clearly don't like my opinion of the other forum, sorry about that. No need to apologise ~ ~ you are fully entitled to your opinion. It's just how it came across. Sorry if I misinterpreted what you were trying to get at. There are some who just want to create issues between fans. At the moment all I want to see is fans together getting behind the Gas.

Why does it even bother you ? There is good and bad on both. Easy to cherry pick too It bothers me because I find it pathetic. Yes we're in a shìt situation but I'm enjoying winning games, though I think we have far from turned a corner, however if our form keeps us in the play offs I'm genuinely interested to see how long it is before fans more interested in club politics think to themselves 'we've won a few too many for me to want us to keep losing, we're pushing to get back in the league, I guess i'll have to join in'.. You see what you want to see ~ most people are very pleased with the win. Pleased don't try to stir things up between the forums. It's quite childish to be honest. What I saw if you will allow me to post. Firstly excellent win but we could so easily let it go. Each game I see reminds me how scrappy this league is. Although the ref booked several of their players they were holding, pulling, shoving and so on and I think we need to get smarter in how we deal with it. At times we were caught out by their antics. Trotman was good in the air but we did lose a lot of headers to their 23. We do also still love a good punt out at times. I was pleased with Sinclair and Harrison challenging in the air even lost causes but putting their players off. When the latter came on for the first few minutes he seemed to tear into them, but then inexplicably wandered out to the left and got bogged down. He is however getting back to good form. Whilst I felt at times they had no one to win it for them it was still nail biting as we gave away free kicks just outside the box. Loose balls, long punts and the lack of a challenge sometimes let us down but it is good to be able to come away from a scrappy game with 3 points and be able to feel that we are going to be up there with the pack. Well done Gas. Well done the few hundred who made the long trip. Lovely to see some old friends including Mandy from North Wales who is officially no longer classed as a jinx! PS it was great to see the smiles on players and fans alike ~ let's hope we see even more at Eastleigh.

Congratulations Brian, I hope you will feel able to engage with the broad spectrum of Gasheads. Well done Rod putting yourself where others fear to tread.
Did any of the directors have anything new to say?

Great to see the young lads there to attract the student yoof! They seem to be enjoying themselves. Best of luck to them, hope they end up with a career playing for the first team.

Review, what review.....?
The team is winning, the Number 12 is off life support and getting behind the team. I think any review will quietly evaporate into the ether.

I think it would be better to keep it open. The two main forums have distinctive characters with some people using both or being a member on one and guesting on another. Both bring information from different sources. On match day this one tends to have the most followers carrying on the tradition from the old OF of most people using it for that purpose and I am sure guests would appreciate reading without having to join.
As said before ~ it is doing well, you guys are doing a great job and it isn't broke.....

Interesting comments from Gavin Herroo which coonfirms what a lot of players think about dropping outside of the league.... "Heeroo had offers from League clubs, but joined then-Conference National side Grays Athletic in an effort to hang on to his flashy lifestyle. "I always saw professional football as a job, like any other industry," he explains. "Sometimes you can get paid more at a lower level than you can in the higher divisions. It might not be a great move for your career, but you need the income. I had a flat and a car. I was still hooked on the lifestyle." In hindsight, Heeroo admits, dropping out of the Football League was a mistake.
"I dropped too low," he says. "When you're in the lower leagues it's hard to get noticed; it's hard to get out. It's very difficult. You have been so pampered and then suddenly you have to clean your own kit."

If this had been started on the IF people would have said there was a Hidden Agenda..... If the meeting did take place and representatives from the two groups were present I sincerely hope that some sort of united front can come about as a result. I am sure all will be revelaed in the fullness of time.

Its HA now, Keep Up
So to be clear.... FYI BRISA and the IF have a HA against NH and Co. They want a OR PDQ and a CEO in ASAP. OK. What I want to know is Hugo how you know the HA when the members of the IF don't even know they have one......

My cousin played for City Youth until he had an accident. I could never take to Ashton at all, it never seemed inviting or welcoming. The Tote End at Eastville, now that's a different story..... Was that Neil ? I remember a guy in Jingswood called Neil but his surname eludes me. He was chucked down a flight of stairs in a nightclub and could not play again after No, his name is Kevin Prue, he was a stiker for their youth team in 70s when they got to the FA Youth Cup Final. He played against the likes of Kevin Beattie, Liam Brady and Tony Currie. Played semi-professional football later for Bath, Forest Green and Gloucester. Top lad.

Don't shoot me for this but Dad used to take us to City too. In those days many used to go to both. I very quickly decided that I did not like going to Ashton as the good was crap . My Uncle used to to take me to Ashton, but it just didn't "click" with me. Trips to Rovers with my Dad were probably less frequent, but something about the atmosphere hooked me for life!
