Can we have confirmation from the powers that be, that if nothing happens in Oct, that this thread is locked and anchored to the archive?
Then we can all start a fresh!

Nobby, that was Oct 10th, I fear the percentage would have moved slightly since then

The fans (still turn up in good numbers home and away) and have been behind the team and DC this season - if a bit quiet. What we need, especially those from other corners of the ground, is for the Thatchers End to do more than one rendition of a song. We seem to give one blast of Irene, then settle down, need to keep this going until the whole ground is going, and even then, keep that going for at least a couple of rounds. You hear the top top teams (EPL) go for ages with one of their songs, and it builds for a great atmosphere, we need to (somehow) get that going down the Mem.

Yeah I get that, but we already have square pegs and round holes, and we’re getting hoof ball, I was just trying to find a formation where hopefully we can play football.
We have a very short team, so playing it over the top won’t work, by having 5 in midfield, it ‘should’ lead us to more passing.
Regarding the wingbacks, I agree we don’t have one, but we do have quick players with engines, we would also have a CDM that should be helping the defence, almost changing to 4 at the back in the defensive phase (plus, you’d hope that if the attack was down one side, the other wingback wouldn’t be on the opposite byline, meaning the defence can shuffle over.
But also, with so many midfielders and attacking players, I don’t really see another formation that gets the best out of our better players.
But like I said, that’s just my opinion.

ST is striker
I guess it could be more of an ACM, but then that makes the formation 3-6-1, and that's ridic! So basically just behind the striker, the 'Number 10' role.

I didn't put Matthews as a striker.
Forgot about Rodman, and I put a bit about Bennett and Nichols, but thanks for reading it...
I was just looking at the team you posted, interesting...

We have no wingers, so can't play any, apart from that, I would say my one was fairly aqurate to where people play.

Why do I always click on this fecking thread. I know the feeling mate, this forum needs a 'Pin' feature like on Twitter, a post that will stay at the top that could be amended so people don't have to read 50+ pages, they can just read 1. The rest of the people on the forum can then discuss/rumour mill/chat sh!t about whatever.

I think with the players we have, we actually lend ourselves to a 3-5-2 formation.
Bonham
LCB - Lockyer CB - Broadbent RCB - Partington
LWB - J.Clarke DCM - Upson CM - O.Clarke CM - Sercombe RWB - Nichols
CF - Matthews ST - Reilly
I know some will question Nichols, but I think supporting the strikers will suit him better than being the striker, I think this would also get the haters off his back a touch. I think Nichols is a bit of a work horse, has a good engine and we all know he can be a nasty barsteward.
I think Matthews has to start and his footwork is unreal, always looking to pass to feet, I think he could link well with Reilly/Jakubiak and Nichols. Bennett could also play this role (albeit not as well...)
The formation would also give Sercombe the freedom he needs due to the support of O.Clarke and Upson (Lines) behind him.
Wing backs, we would have enough in reserve with Leads, THD, Sincs (can also play CM obvs), maybe Bennett (I don't think he'd defend as well, so the CDM would have to cover a lot).
I'd hope this formation would lend itself to more passing than hoof ball, as there are more players in midfield.
That's my thought's anyway, feel free to disect, dispell etc.

So 54 pages in, can we get a synopsis and where we’re at so far? (Or of all the related threads in general?)
Rumours so far -
Takeover Due diligence in Oct Announcement in Oct Announcement soon No date on announcement Planning links re-posted (no relevance) Wael hasn’t been seen Wael has been seen Wael had a meeting Wael was the one who took part in the midweek 50/50 draw so he actually got 50% of his money back (probably didn’t buy a sausage roll due to this, Rovers lost money). October is now being broken down into percentages (I like it)
Anything else that needs to be added to keep everyone firmly update and less of an idea than when the thread was originally started?

Lol I won't.
I just couldn't be bothered to read 50 pages of people messing about just to see a couple of posts that might have some information.
These threads need some housekeeping!

What is it we're actually looking at here, looks like the latest stuff on the Colony is relating to the dwellings already on there, is that right?

Although not this bar, how come they’ve made the left bar behind the Thatchers End a members bar? The side where they serve food?
It was rammed in the right bar yesterday due to the weather and the left one was fairly spacious.

Actually I thought Bennett was terrible too, so that’s two players 😉 How Bennett is starting over Matthews is beyond me! He’s starting to become a watered down version of Bodin, in as much as, when Rovers are doing well, Bennett (Bodin) played well, but when you need to dig deep and support, they may as well be at home! On the plus side though, I thought everyone else has a very solid game, Kelly again nailing down his LB position (which by the sounds of it will rapidly disappear once THD is finally fit) Locks actually played ok, and Stuey showed every player how much effort they need to give! I dont agree with you on bennett as i thought he played well,in fact i dont agree with anything you said about him. The reason payne has been singled out is because he appeared uninterested while the other 13 players were working hard for the win. Really?! Then do tell me what Bennett did yesterday, from what I saw, he tried to send about 3 players to Southmead Hospital with some horrible short passes, he runs next to their players very well, I’ll give you that one, oh and he had 1 shot near the end. He does however, slow any counter attack up by stopping for some reason. Matthews would have been a much better option imo

Ought to be starting! He could actually be the difference for players like Nichols, as he always plays to feet.
I don’t know why DC doesn’t play 3-5-2, would mean Sercombe (when fit) can play CM, we have 2x mobile CB’s in Parts and Lockyer to go either side of Broadbent.
WB’s would be THD/Kelly/Bennett & J.Clarke/Leads
With either Lines or Upson sitting giving freedom to players like O.Clarke and Matthews to find Reilly/Nichols/AJ
