IF Taylor is appointed manager it would stand to reason Mangs and Whelo to leave. JB did state that he and his staff did not like the staff at Exeter at the time Taylor was there. I would imagine Wayne Carlisle will be back, and maybe Kevin Spencer will be watching, UTG. That would be hilarious mate. UTG

I don't get how people can still have unabashed man love for Barton. Dude was a prick and not exactly incredible either when it came to tactics and such. I swear I think some believe we would be top 4 right now if he had stayed. He is gone, thank f**k for that. Time to get behind Taylor. Did you get to know him when he was at Exeter? Also, will he be bringing Wayne Carlisle with him? Don’t try and spoil the illusion Dr F! UTG

It’s 5 weeks today since Barton left. I would rather they took their time and got it right. Agreed, and I think everyone else would however surely it’s important to communicate with us fans? I’m not expecting to know all the ins and outs of the process they’ve been going through, I don’t think anyone is but it’s got to a point where it’s angered so many fans that a bit of an update would be nice. Even the rumours about Gorringe being on gardening leave, surely they’re seeing all this and know it’s not good for the club? It’s starting to get so toxic and I can’t help but feel if they had communicated better the atmosphere around the club wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as it is currently, especially when you’re seeing Mangan say the players and staff are feeling the same way. It’s just so demoralising when we spend a lot of money following our club and they don’t feel like we deserve an update about anything… I agree 100% in what you say Chelt, the communication (or lack of) has been very poor.

#HijackersBackIn And you are right BTW, yesterday was second interviews and both Monk and Taylor were in. 💯 true. If we are 7 weeks in and only at second interview stage with some of them, we are even more f**ked that we thought It’s 5 weeks today since Barton left. I would rather they took their time and got it right.

Good to hear we have a fan from across the pond. What made you become a Gashead, if you don't mind me asking? You'll have to make the pilgrimage to the Mem at some point. Appreciate it and yeah would like to come over at some point. And no I am not like the other American that came over because he liked playing us on a video game I think it was haha. And only been a fan for a few years; became one as a friend of mine is from Bristol and started watching games with him. Only other club I watch is Augsburg in Germany as when I traced my ancestry, thats where my ancestors came from haha. So you live in the states and have supported Rovers for a few years! Your writing is very similar to a previous forum member, must be a distant relative who came over on the Mayflower!!! UTG

I wonder if he ever lined up against us? An England legend and one of the best home grown managers (he had to manage Gazza?!) in recent history. I always liked him, a bit of a character. Rip. RIP Terry. We played QPR twice in 1971 in the League Cup, when he would have been at QPR. Don’t know if he played.

For 95% of that game we were comfortable kept the ball well and looked dangerous, we've gifted them 2 goals and that's cost us a point at the very least. I thought Ward was excellent and up until the 2nd goal Grant had a very good game. We aren't far off at all but you simply can't give away the 2 goals we did today at places like Derby, Cox barely made a save and we've still managed to conceded twice, hugely frustrating Cox made two great one on one saves, thought he was very good today. Spot on mate.

According to Wiki Nick Higgs was chairman for seven and a half years, so if the maths are correct, this would mean an average of 4 million a year that fans paid into the club. And the annual wage bill, travel, insurance, Police, Ground up keep, staff, kit, I could go on, runs into what? Annually. I don’t know, was just putting some “meat on the bone” to KP’s statement that it worked out at 4 million a year.

This. What does it not being my money have to do with it. I didn't buy a football club. If it going cost 10s Millions to build a stadium, then thats what its going to cost. The fans pay the club millions but over a longer period. I remember someone doing the maths that , when NH was in charge, the fans paid in circa 30 million over his tenure. The fans are the club According to Wiki Nick Higgs was chairman for seven and a half years, so if the maths are correct, this would mean an average of 4 million a year that fans paid into the club.

A good friend of mine is a Rovers and Celtic season ticket holder. are you saying that he’s a “disgusting supporter” and shouldn’t go to Rovers games? He does smell a bit, mind. 😎

So you want Scotty Sinclair out of the club then ?? In an ideal world I'd have no one at the gas with any links whatsoever to that awful football club and its disgusting supporters. I'd genuinely forgot about Sinclair so he can stay 🤣 A good friend of mine is a Rovers and Celtic season ticket holder. are you saying that he’s a “disgusting supporter” and shouldn’t go to Rovers games?

If it's Taylor then I wonder if this means the return of Wayne Carlisle as his assistant In my opinion one of the laziest players ever to don the quarters, which was frustrating as thought he was a very talented footballer. Hope he is a much harder worker wearing a coaches jacket.

A point but we should have been good enough to beat the bottom of the league team. Yet again we simply weren’t good enough. I fear with Joeys back room team we’re just getting the same old same. We have some good players but we need a new Manager and that man is not in the building. I agree that we didn’t play well, but Readings home form isn’t bad, they’ve won the same amount of home games as we have. The reason they are bottom of the league is that they’ve lost all of their away games. UTG

I agree wholeheartedly about the descriptions of that rag, the Sun. But in reality that is just a deflection from the points made about Barton. They are all true are they not? So I ask again, what on earth possessed the owners of the club to allow such a person be associated with us. Given the points made, what on earth possessed people to start a petition to reinstate him. Good riddance. I would hazard a guess that Barton’s actions have been discussed many more times on here than any other manager in our history. I have not read the article and never will. Still don’t understand why anyone would click on a Sun article.
