Feel like the forum desperately needs to hear the story of Gavin sh**ting himself in front of Matty Phillips and Roadman. We just had a WhatsApp group with about 12 in it, I don’t even know how it was formed, I think off the Facebook appreciation page and people we adding mates in. It was the time of DC and the conference, we were all going to games and meeting up, I became friends via the likes of Ash Belsten who some will know, we are good mates now still because of this group set up. Gavin like he does on here wound Matt up to the point that he was asking for his address to go and visit him in person, I think Gavin screenshot some messages what Matt had said or something?! We never saw Gavin again, at the time I was worried he had got hold of his address somehow, looking back now it was hilarious, we still laugh about it now! And I wouldn’t mess with Matt either! *Keep posting Marshy, he’s not a bad lad to be honest, his brother Harley is a good kid, well he must be in his late teens now. Gavin is Gavin, I don’t think he ever means any real harm, sometimes though you go too far as he found out back then Not sure that I get “Matt” wanting to hurt “Gavin” (I take it that is why he wanted his address) as “hilarious”, but each to their own. Keegan said:
“If I see an England lady footballer saying … ‘If I would have been in that position I would have done this,’ I don’t think it’s quite the same,” he said. Keegan was also reported in the Times as saying it was a “great time for the ladies” in terms of football broadcasting and that “some of the girl [presenters] we have are so good, they are better than the guys”.
He praised female presenters, saying some are better than their male counterparts.

Thanks for providing the link, which shows he didn’t “make a big song and dance about it”. UTG Doing an interview about it is not making a song and dance? We have different definitions of song and dance. He was interviewed by a journalist and answered a few questions. There is nowhere in that article that shows he made a song and dance about it.

Barton ran the Manchester Marathon to raise money for Nick Anderton and he didn’t make a big song and dance about it. I’m not his biggest fan but questioning his motives on this is below the belt, in my opinion. I’m very proud of what the club and Barton have done in the wake of Nick’s diagnosis and I think they have got the tone right in terms of respect for Nick and his privacy and also showing publicly the support we are giving him. Um.. Yes he did: www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-boss-joey-barton-8368335Thanks for providing the link, which shows he didn’t “make a big song and dance about it”. Green Cllr Emma Edwards said today that she has “absolutely no objections to the stand”, so we may as well crack on with putting it up. UTG

An 82er mate of mine reckons we may be getting new investors from the Middle East. Just passing on the message and he's normally bang on with stuff, so please don't shoot the messenger. “An 82er mate”, sorry don’t understand. Do you mean an 82er acquaintance? 😀💙💙💙

I am a ST holder, dont vocally support him but still support the team and club. Would celebrate as hard as anyone if we go up this year. Just wish he'd concentrate on that, not exactly got a stunning L1 record with us. Even the biggest Barton fans must know it will end in tears, sooner rather than later. I’m similar, don’t really support him and don’t particularly like him. As long as he’s moving us forward as a club and he’s not causing too much grief with his off field antics and social media postings . Think he’s done an ok job so far as I think we’re better now than when he came in , but we should be as he’s been here 2 yrs. Gotta move us forward again this season which is at least challenging for the playoffs. Most managerial appointments end in tears by either getting sacked or ditching you to move up the greasy pole. This is exactly how I feel. UTG

Thanks for the information. Can you give your advice/knowledge on the determination date being 26th August? It is the last day that the planners have to make a decision. Normally planning applications should be determined within 8- 12 wks of the application going in, so the whole thing should have been sorted by now. Thing is the club need the stand to be up by the Barnsley game or we fall foul of EFL safety regulations, with not having enough seats available. The club are confident that every thing is on track , work has started on the site so I presume/hope they have some form of agreement with planning. Thank you. Fingers crossed that a favourable decision Will be made in the next couple of weeks. UTG

True. Also you are free to cut down trees and bushes on your own land. If you cut down branches from trees that aren’t on your land you have to offer the cuttings back to the owner otherwise you can be accused of theft (Ridiculous I know, but I actually had a dickhead neighbour accuse me of theft once for this very reason and he reported it to the police 🤣🤣🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️). The only thing which prevents you cutting trees down are preservation orders which are given by the council. You need permission to even sneeze near them. So clearing the site is perfectly allowed. Or the trees are within a conservation area. The vegatation behind the old south stand was not planted to screen the building but is scrubland of bushes and saplings, so there would be no problem in removing them. Regards wildlife it would have to be a protected species to be an issue. The football club could claim that construction of the stand is urgent, as it needs to be done before the season starts, if that is the case then the designated Officer could allow building to go ahead in view of granting retrospective permission at a later date. This could be the case with this application. i don't know what the seated number is without the south stand but it could fall below what is permitted by the league. Which could be a major issue. Just checked that the club must provide at least 2,000 seats under football safety regulations, so we may be below the standard required. Thanks for the information. Can you give your advice/knowledge on the determination date being 26th August?

Hope he signs , he’d be a decent addition, plus this place will be great entertainment for me in the close season I’m glad that someone who’s admitted assault by beating of a woman and is on trial for another is so entertaining to you. Has he admitted “assault by beating”? From what I’ve tried to find on internet it says that he has admitted assault.

I think it's worth pointing out to those who calculate attendance figures that any away fans located in the new south stand will result in an entire block of seating being left empty for security reasons to segregate fans. Counting the seating "dots" on the Clubs season ticket website shows Block A was the usual minimum away seating area with less existing seating than as proposed Block A has 597 seats, Block B has 566 seats. Thus if any games require Black B or C to be wholly closed off the maximum loss of revenue is approx say 566 x £22 average ticket price = £12452 loss per game. It's possible subject to safety concerns to only partially cover say 10 rows of seating (that's 50%) to minimise those concerns? That would halve the loss figure? I wonder if the 12500 capacity reflects the above. Currently the Mem holds about 9500 plus new stand 3500 Total 13000. Then the club will take away segregation say 500 arriving at 12500. Who knows just a quess? Are the Tents included in the 9500? Take them away and the capacity is approx 8000 Add on 3500 and the new capacity should be 11500. Would hope it’s more.
