Who are these people y'all talk of?
Is there some other football team in Bristol?
Who is Bill Boards? Is he a homeless gentleman? Why else would people be putting him up?

Without a doubt two points dropped. Given the long trip back and plenty of time in the car to analyse the run in of ourselves and nearest rival Barnet, I am very fearful that today's game we may have relinquished the title. I have long felt that for us we must win the Championship to be promoted as we have not got the firepower in attack to get the necessary goals in the play-offs. Being the most powerful club it will be a major disappointment to have to play off as our likely opposition will be pleased, that by punching above their weight ,they have exceeded their expectations and have all to gain. This puzzles me: Surely the most powerful club will end up as champions?
If you are saying Bristol Rovers are the most powerful club, on what grounds are you basing that?

Stupid thing to do and could cost us, unlikely to be points or a fine but in reputation. I must say though i respect TrueGas for responding and holding his hands up, it would be much easier for him to run and hide. And some of the abuse and name calling is unnecessary in my opinion. He's a Gashead who did something stupid and acknowledges it. Attack the post, not the poster are the rules on here aren't they? He did not really have much option about holding his hands up: In a previous post, he had already said he was going to let Stanley know what he felt.

Thanks Truegas, based on your post on the day you said it was you. I hope you're proud of yourself and the risk to the club that you have now created. I explained my point of view fully on my ''Buckle vs Ward, Clarke & Higgs'' thread. I don't have anything more to add to that, other than to say that it makes no sense at all, that it could cause any ''risk to the club''. How do they know that I'm even a Rovers supporter? I could've been an Eastleigh fan who'd gone in the wrong end - there's no way they can prove otherwise. And even if they could, the whole ''points deduction'' thing that I've seen mentioned before, is madness - it was after the final whistle so the game was not effected in any way, so it's got nothing to do with points. I apologise to any Gashead that my actions have upset. I'd never want anything other than great things for Bristol Rovers and its supporters. UTG You are a door handle of the shiniest kind.

[br If curses means we don't lose tomorrow as we haven't after he's won it before - let's keep winning it !! Yessireee. I hate posting positively before games but you have picked up on a strange phenomenon! DC has won MOTM before and it has not had a detrimental effect on the results. Long may it continue

It's s few has beens for sure. Can Stanley cope with our pace. Unlikely! We are at home. Probably our biggest gate of the season. We are the form team. I think many on the bus will think we can win next week and go on to win this league. Bring it on. How many times have you seen us this season Rich? The last thing Craig Stanley will worry about in our midfield is our pace! There is a tremendous difference between being positive and being arrogant. All good teams and good players need a touch of arrogance, in my opinion, but they need to rein it in sometimes. The fact that Eastleigh is a small village is nothing whatsoever to do with their football prowess. Look at Burnley: If the size of the city/town/village counted for anything they would be in the lower leagues. Likewise the attitude that they have has-beens in their team is over the top. There are some Rovers supporters who would still like to see Jamie Cureton back: He is also considered a has been by many, yet he is still knocking them in for Dagenham. Yesterday, two of Eastleigh's "has-beens" scored goals in their 4-0 win against Macclesfield. The same result as we got against Macclesfield, but it could be argued that Eastleigh's was a better win because the Maccs were on a good run of form leading into yesterday's game.
Of course many Rovers supporters, me included, will think we can win next week, many, such as you it seems, will expect it. After 53 years of supporting Rovers, I expect the unexpected and take nothing for granted.

Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead etc are no longer in the north east: Stu went all Cap'n Birdseye and went fishing off Tynemouth: He caught and landed Norway, so the former north east is now the midlands.

We haven't exactly played superb football all season. Yet we're top of the league. Personally I'm struggling to know how to feel about it. On one hand I'm chuffed, but I can't get too chuffed because we've scraped a shitload of odd-goal wins. It's an odd one. Can't be disappointed with top of the league obviously, I suppose in response to the OP if we were playing decent stuff regularly there would be less criticism? I understand why people are critical tbh. If only we had a team capable of scraping odd-goal wins in 1999/2000/2001.
It may not be pretty but it is proving effective thus far. To me, the end justifies the means.

Perhaps he's got a granny in Bristol he needs to visit regularly or something. I'd love to see him stay. Wayne Rooney style?

I agree Supergas. I think design 1seems unfinished. Design 2 looks as if someone has been run over by a motor bike! I have gone for design3 but why not have full on yellow and black quarters? I would like to see orange and black quarters myself, but I guess the yellow and black suits our Black Arab heritage.

It's a funny thing though. On paper, some football matches look quite easy, but as soon as they start, it's much more difficult. Then sometimes they turn out to be easy after all, except those aren't usually the ones that were supposed to be easy. It's a funny old game. That is the extent of my wisdom on the subject. I think what Mark is trying to say is that things that haven't happened are always interesting, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know. And you can't argue with that. Hmmm: I don't know about that,

I couldn't give a rats arse what any of the sister tampering freaks think. Their opinion means less than nothing. It's not about not caring about Rovers, I just don't understand how anyone can get worked up over anything said by someone with more fingers than brain cells. I've had dumps I cared more about. Good point denials always a better way to go makes life so much easier. Rather supercilious response methinks? Where is the denial? Have you not heard of, "Sticks and stones, " etc?

I used to like cotterill. Even after he joined the Reds I had a measure of respect for him. But in some interviews he comes across as an unarticulated, self righteous twit which is made worse by that thick accent. The way he has treated some of the journalists on RB at times have been down right rude. I wonder if he would speak to them like that in the sweet and not expect a punch in the cake hole. I think he thinks he has the same jib as Ollie but he lacks the wit and creativity of language together with the personality that Ollie has. Not a bad manager though. Maybe we'll meet him in the league in a year or 3. To be honest, I think Ollie sounds thick as the proverbial sometimes. In fact, I think that is one of the reasons he was (no longer seems to be) a media favourite. His sound bites would always create comment.

Just think the luck has gone against us but as they say it tends to even out so hope it all comes together now We have had a lot of draws yes I agree but nearly all of them could have been wins At Woking 2 perfectly good goals disallowed by Matty Taylor Strewfff! No wonder he divides opinion if he is going around disallowing our goals!

Unfortunately I took my action around 15 years ago because they are rubbish. I placed a Christmas order with them online, for delivery. Over half of the items were not available, including such basics as Iceberg lettuce! Maybe there was some group or other doing a dump your basket protest at that time and all the stock was stuck in baskets across the shop floor? I withdrew my custom from them as a result.

Oddly we've only played Coventry in a pre season friendly, this image suggests they played us in their usual sky blue kit? Oddly we played Wycombe in the quarters last season which surely is a bigger clash with their blue quarters than yesterday? We played them in the old Third Division back in the 60s and they changed to a horrible all red kit.

Csambridge (I think) turned up without kit when Graydon was manager, lost that day as well. I know before the Mansfield game it was mentioned a team borrowed a kit from us, and we lost. I thought it was Rochdale. Yes, Rochdale borrowed the black and stone quartered kit and beat us.
