Having supported them for 53 years, I cannot agree that all years have been "rubbish": There were seasons in the 60's and 70's, for instance, that encouraged fervour. However, when many (most) of the seasons did not result in the anticipated euphoria, we just dusted ourselves down and got on with the next one; ever hopeful.
This season, we have got further than most: Hopefully, we will see it through.
Ooops! Sorry:Yes: To keep in tune with the original post., this season has been far more enjoyable and exciting, for the right reasons, than most
p.s. webmaster; the edit is not working correctly.

OK blokes, if you can speak a sentence without swearing, off you go:
Clough: "Woss a sentence?"
Coles: "eeermmm, let me think about that."
Pipe: "I £(*&&*^&%^ done one, innit? Can't you see my tattoos? I'm well 'ard ain' t I??"
Oh dear, Pipe never could learn.

Agent Coles cocked it up for the sheds, let's hope he does the same for the nut burgers if called upon.

"HOWEVER, information may still be shared without consent if, that lack of consent can be overridden in the public interest. This is a matter of judgement and should consider the safety and well-being of the person and others who may be affected by their action." I guess most people will accept that having away fans in the home end was a safety issue?? Who's to say someone with a BS post code is a Rovers fan? Taking the postcode thang a stage further: On the logic that anyone with a BS postcode would support one of the Bristol teams, I guess it would follow that anyone with a BS13 postcode would be a shed? Well, I certainly am not

It seems you are correct: Unfortunately, they now seem to have deleted all Rovers related posts.
All of my posts have disappeared and I no longer have the option to make any comments. Sheer cowardice on their part, in my opinion.
So they've blocked you? Yes.
Apart from mine, it seems that all other Rovers related posts have disappeared. So it seems others have been blocked too.
We have obviously hit a nerve.

I am posting to their site every day. I try to post something relevant to the subject of their posts and twist it to suit Rovers. However, I am wondering if my posts/responses (as (Vyv Wiltshire) are actually appearing on the site because although they appear when I go back into their page, they are not accumulating any likes......or maybe they are too cringeworthy for fellow Gasheads? www.facebook.com/sainsburys?fref=tsWould someone please confirm if they show up or not? There are loads to see if they are all there.

Your posts have a touch of intimacy about them. You seem to get very early pictures of the stadia and get hold of team sheets etc, so I would ask if you are Mark's bother, Ian, who used to be the webmaster for the official website?

Inee, I agree with almost every one of your posts but do have a different view on the legality of pitch invasions: I believe the fact that it is illegal is very important because it is the weight that opens up the option to dock points. From my previous posts, you will see that I do not condone pitch invasions; However, one huge weight off my mind is that we cannot be docked any points if there is an invasion after the play offs

Well done on lasting the pace Barnet.
I may be in a minority but I am happy for Martin Allen. I reckon he is a great manager at lower league level, and maybe he could cope at a higher level if he was able to build a team to take him there. I also think he is a decent bloke, who tells it how he sees it and wears his heart on his sleeve. He definitely feels very strongly for any team he manages and for their supporters. If we did not have DC, or were to lose him to another team, I would love Martin Allen to come here. He is always very complimentary about us and I believe that he genuinely means what he says about our team and our fans.

In my opinion its actually getting boring now, just a load of "look at me, look at me" fans running on the pitch, its cringeworthy to be honest and is then followed by a chorus of "We're Bristol Rovers we do what we want" which is pretty embarrassing also. Having said that it's not for me and if running around on the pitch floats yer boat well thats your choice i suppose. Maybe i'm just old Boring? That's the last thing it is. It's embracing the moment. Moments like that can and will not ever be taken away from you. I will remember running on the pitch but won't remember standing and clapping so much. Got to make the most of it as I won't see us win much in my lifetime! So you will not remember the 46 game season: the final game win: the Championship (that could be taken away if there is a pitch invasion)? You will remember running on the pitch?
Believe me, I do appreciate your desire to get on the pitch and know that some people feel they need to do that to get the full experience, as it were; although, I have asked people to explain why that is. However, I would opine that you would remember the game just as much, maybe not as fondly as you would like, because you did not/could not run on the pitch.

I must admit I've been on a few pitches in my time. One I always regret is not getting on the pitch at Wembley. When I was 13/14 my brother took me to see England play Finland. It was the days of the wooden benches. Our "seat" was about 3 rows from the front. Quite a few people went on the pitch. A few times at Eastville and loads at Twerton. Every year at the Mariners we have an organised pitch invasion. We have to wait until about 10 minutes after the final whistle. Then they open the gates and you walk past a steward who has a bucket. You chuck a dollar or two in and get on the pitch. This year the money went to a camp for under privileged kids. They cordon off an area down near the tunnel and the majority of the players hang around for autographs. This year they took the goalposts down before we were allowed on though. Despite some pretty memorable nights at the Mariners we've never had a "proper" pitch invasion. The players will do a lap of honour stopping for pics and autographs. At the last game our captain retired. We waited half an hour to get an autograph and he was only about a quarter of the way around the pitch at that stage. No way could I pay a $5000 fine these days. Was that Finland game in 1976, Pete?
I was at that one. I went up on a coach from the erstwhile Glasscutter.
Donnie Gillies was on the coach......obviously winding everyone else up by being a Finland "fan" He was still a shed player at that time.
I was sat further back up the coach and wanted to get off at one point. He was lying across two seats on the coach, with his middle parts in the gangway, as I reached him I lifted my foot as if to stamp down. His response was all that one would expect from a hard tackling full back
Oh, and if it was that game, it was dire: England only won 2-1
The happy memory of it for me is that I was soooo much slimmer in those days (even bordering on fit). My mate and I did not have tickets, so we squeezed through the lattice gates to get into the game.

I personally don't care, but it's AGAINST THE LAW which is the point. Plus the club have asked people not to, and the Conference don't want people to. So the legal authorities, the owners of the venue and the owners of the competition we participate in don't want fans on the pitch. Why go on...? PLUS there is another group that won't want fans on the pitch...the players. Who wants an autograph? You won't get one if the players are effectively chased off the pitch at full time. Who wants a selfie with your favourite Rovers player? Well they will probably come up to the edge of the stand if all the fans stay inside it... Lap of honour? Those stupid group slides towards the home end? None of that happens if there is a pitch invasion. Not to mention it's really disrespectful to the Alfreton players who have just lost 6-0... Nope, would still prefer a pitch invasion. The club have only asked used not to so that it covers their arses as they know we will if we win the league. Are you deliberately missing the point?
IT IS ILLEGAL!

I fail to see why there are so many posts on this subject that are referring to the police attitude to pitch invasions. That is irrelevant!
Avon and Somerset's finest will not be responsible for docking us points if we are found to be in breach of FA regulations.
I appreciate that some people do find it hard to resist running on the pitch after a big game or the final game of the season and know that it is seen as being tradition, albeit a frowned upon one, even when I was a kid supporting Rovers 50+ years ago......not that we had much to celebrate in those times anyway.
Would someone please explain to me why they see celebrating on the pitch as being so much better than staying on the terracing/in their seat to celebrate?
In all my time of supporting Rovers I only "invaded" the pitch twice; after the Watney Cup win, and after the Blackpool game when we clinched the championship. The first I was a teenager and joined in with my peers; the second was to hear what Gerry and the Dream makers were saying as they were allowed to use Blackpool's rickety balcony to address the fans. I prefer to see the players allowed to do a lap of honour.

Thanks.
That is brilliant!
It really is an example of every picture telling a story, and is indeed a pictorial essay.
Great work.
