Hi Folks. Thanks for all your kind words. Ashton Gate had its positives - but give me tradition over modernity any day. pirateman : 20 years ago I may have put together this stuff into a book - but the internet has pretty much destroyed the market for such publications....unless you are VERY famous or VERY witty. scoobydoogas : It's called the Customer-is-always-right philosophy, I suppose. And it is not universally applied on these islands, let me assure you. mehewmagic : The programme was a great read (hence, me missing the opening goal). I really enjoyed your article – real affection and respect for Mark coming through. Indeed the programme was chock full of well-written historical pieces (which is where I tend to go first). How folks keep up the quality of writing over a full page and, indeed a full season, I am in awe of. My scribbles would barely fill a column. And I get a different club to write about with each entry. @antonio Fargas: Goodness, I had forgotten I had seen Rovers before. What a dispiriting afternoon that was, from a neutral's perspective. A case of Careful-what-you-wish-for with respect to a new stadium, I suppose. barumgas : I am not a pie-man, I am afraid. Or am, but attempting not to be, as am trying not to reach Infinite Mass. Good Luck at Coventry, this afternoon. Regards Ian Not sure about that mate. Easy enough and cheap enough to put it out on Kindle. I'd buy it and probably a few others at least.

To be fair it is a problem for me as I have to sit down. IMO there should be areas where people can stand and where they definitely cant.

Mmm. How to use a car for mass terror. Not difficult. I think I could work that out without the aid of the internet were I so inclined. (Which I ain't by the way)

Recent trouble at Bristol Rovers away matches could see access to the bars at the Ricoh Arena restricted for the away fans. More than 4,000 Pirates supporters are making the trip to see their side take on Coventry City on Saturday. olice have had to intervene at two recent Rovers away matches; the first when they travelled to play Port Vale and the second when they played Oxford United. Now a few weeks have passed and those in charge of safety at the club have been keen to ensure no more trouble brews at away matches. Rovers' safety officer Dave Parker has spoken to his counterparts in Coventry ahead of Saturday’s game and has given advice to them regarding the opening times of the bar. That has led to following information on Rovers’ website: “Bars at the ground will be open pre-match and, depending on behaviour, they will reopen at half time.” Parker said: “Since troubles at Port Vale and Oxford I have been emailing with safety suggestions ahead of away games to ensure we create the safest environment. “I have suggested to Coventry that they make it an all ticket event and I have asked them not to open the bar to away fans. “It is a policy we operate here at the Memorial Stadium and it does help reduce any problems. “I make the suggestions but it is up to them to decide what to enforce as it is their game. “What may happen is that they open the bar at half time if the fan behaviour has been good during the first half. “It would not be an uncommon situation and sometimes things these come down to compromise.” Cheers Sean

Bring back the mini skirt, A couple of years ago I bought my missus a Thai pleated micro mini skirt. To my great delight she did wear it, altho she wouldn't set foot outside the house with it on. She put her heels on as well. Well, that was too much for me. Even my tail got a hard-on Oh go on. Get her to walk around Highridge in it.
