Perhaps they could run a trial based on the tennis model for Hawkeye where there is a limit of only two challenges per player per set. If a club had a limit of maybe three, four or even five challenges per half then it would allow the referee to make more uncontested decisions to keep the flow going. It would force managers to concentrate on the really contentious situations rather than say when a player is a few millimetres offside which isn’t materially affecting the game. I’m sure that someone will find a way of abusing even this approach, especially after all the challenges have been used up, but don’t forget this is only to assist the referee team not replace them! Works well enough in Cricket.

Andy Johnson will he ever rock up must be in West Broms walking football team now! Talking of West Brom, I recall getting tanked in the FA Cup quarter final 5-1 by them and Ishmael Miller ran us ragged. He was unplayable that day and just too strong scoring three.Might give him a call!!!!!!! Best game Ish Miller ever had, he got lucky that day, first goal was offside and the next two were down to awful defending by Joe Jacobson.

Perhaps they should have put £15 on the original price, and then offered a discount(£15) for anyone just wanting a digital version.

Steve White. In the 70/80s. After losing Paul Randall it was a real blow to lose Steve White. Both came back and did well. But Steve White left for a second time when Rovers moved to Bath.

Perhaps Ferguson is second guessing who will finish 5th, and hoping it will be Barnsley. If Posh won last night, and then beat Bolton, finish 3rd, they could likely then face Lincoln or Blackpool.

I didn't think Derby were the best footballing side we've seen this season, but they did look the best equipped to get out of the division. Got the ball forward quickly and ruthless in both boxes. Reading and Peterborough good to watch, as were Orient. And the best paid. www.capology.com/club/derby-county/payrolls/

With Rossiter in the team, you are more likely to average 2 points a game. Without someone like him, less than 1.5. If he manages just 20 games that's probably mid 70 points, playoffs.

Agree about Aguilera, should have been subbed at halftime. To be fair to Martin, their C/B was their best player.

Rovers should have won comfortably. I could not see any one of their players who would get in the Rovers team on yesterdays performance.

In one game for a Rovers free kick, he pushed the opposition wall sideways enough for the ball to go round it for a goal.

Chelsea fans thought the Beard was the best player on the pitch in EFL cup tie.

Sorensen at rwb is going to cause all sorts of problems for Gordon. Standout player early season at The Mem Sinclair didn't play that game, so maybe it will be Sorensen who has the problem.

No matter who the manager/coach is, or the players are - we have been incapable of taking good throw-ins for decades Rory Gaffney was was decent with them.

Assuming their wages would be about the same, who would you take for next season, CM or JCH?

Just tried to buy a scarf for a friend and was told that they’re out of stock as “there are bills that haven’t been paid”. Asked to buy one of the 3 on display behind the counter and was told that they’re not for sale. Was going to buy a shirt as well but can’t be bothered now. Strange way to run a retail outlet 😂 No chance of a free one with a Season Ticket then.

I wonder why Beefy doesn't start? He was coping well with teams like Burton, Fleetwood and Northampton at Morecombe.

I'm sure my experience will be shared by many of my generation, i.e. born mid-fifties, now approaching 70 and retired. I still love coming to matches and even a few away every season. My wife still doesn't understand why an old bloke like me continues to wander up to the Men and watch lower league football in a cr*p stadium where I dread needing to visit the loo at half time every other weekend. The reason is simple, I first came when I was still at primary school and my dad started bringing me with him (not to the Mem of course..) Unlike many of my school mates I didn't support a First Division team because now I HAD A TEAM TO FOLLOW. It became part of my life and part of me, might sound daft but it's still part of who I am now and I can't imagine the day when it wouldn't be. Twerton wasn't my favourite ground but we still turned up. Dad's long gone now but I still miss him, us coming to the match, Sports Report in the car on the way home. Still turning up keeps me in touch with those old memories and happy days. If the club don't recognise the value of encouraging the next generation, of making it possible for them to come along, get excited about their team and their club by making it affordable, comfortable and safe then we're in trouble for the future. Where I stand on the Thatcher's there are an awful lot of grey heads like me and not a lot of youngsters as I remember. Agree with this -- Oh Most of the youngsters are down AG No they're not, two seasons ago my grandson who was 12 and an Arsenal fan and plays for a local club. The club arranged a match day experience at the Mem, training session, meet the JB and the team, a tour of the stadium and a lunchbox. Then watched the game in the southwest stand. It was Northampton, Rovers went 2 up, cobblers got 1 back, Rovers had a player sent off and cobblers had one kicked off the line in the last seconds of the game. It was pure football drama and he was hooked. His Dad and other Grandad tried to convert him to the darkside and even Swindle, but he was having none of it. I get him a season ticket now. And it was the same story for quite a few of his mates.
