only 2 ,im sure there will be more in the wider fan base, unfortunantely when i can get to the ground, then the only thing i will get is a ticket ,pasty can be got elsewhere, booze from outside vendors, so yes some revenue will be lost, , Whats the name of you garage so i can avoid using it as i pay for repairs in cash I’d say the club already lose a fair proportion of revenue to the Welly, the sportsman and the chippys on Glos Road. I’d also argue that they have also taken a lot of business back from those outlets with the fanzone which looks set to continue. So even if your protest over cash (when you get to the ground) happens, the club are still up anyway. They may be "up" but like TG himself said they need more people to go to the fanzone, buy tickets, merch, 50/50s etc. We can't keep going on making losses. Do you think it is ok the club settles to get 95% of max income when they can easily just make life easier for (admittedly not a huge amount of) fans and make 100%? Most of this thread talks of programme, 50/50s and pasties, but there must be fans would buy a shirt with cash and maybe other things so it is not necessarily so small fry. What about non Rovers fans who attend a works Xmas party for example. No doubt any booking will mention cashless but no everyone is going to read the small print. Someone could order a £30 round and then not be allowed to pay for it, despite having the money - bizarre. To try and improve income from "other revenue streams" the club has to be competitive and provide customer service. Telling prospective customers what they can't do surely can't be a good thing, as no doubt other competitors will offer cash sales to get the business. Fine lines they say but surely it is very very simple for the club to provide an olive branch? After all the views on here are from people who are computer literate and aware of the issue. There are many Rovers fans who are totally unaware that the club are going to enforce this policy on supporters. There are some fans who like/have to live as simply as possible just to get by. Others can't handle any change (no pun intended). No doubt the club will put a message on Twitter which only caters for a certain percentage of fans, but come FGR when people turn up for the first time, I bet many wouldn't even know about it. Just think of the problems and criticism the club have then. At least they could phase it in during the season?

I think that this will cause the club to lose potential earnings, which no business should look to do.
They may save a few thousand quid a year counting the money, some tax savings, security costs etc, but the inconvenience to supporters, the costs of the machines, human errors, system downtime etc will cost a hell of a lot more.

I guess charity bucket collections are a no go as well then.
I think the Ukraine and the CT made quite a bit last season and quite often the programme used to show letters of thanks.
I remember one charity wrote in the EP a few years ago to say they spent hours down town with tens of thousands of shoppers in bright sunshine and raised about £100 and a week letter spent an hour at a drenched Mem with 6000 and made £400.

Appreciate that you want a choice. Are you prepared to pay more when using cash? So a 50:50 ticket is £1 for card, would you pay £1.20 to pay by cash? Or would you want the club to lose vital profit for your choice? There are other options rather than pay more V lose vital profit! Where did the 20p come from? Is that really how much it costs for every ticket sold, to break even against tap to pay? scdave how are the prizes to be paid out? It used to be in cash. Will these now be bacs payments? It is run by the FC now, not the SC, so best ask Dave Bright. Good question though. I doubt if anyone at the club have thought of that, but I would guess it has to be electronic payment.

It would be nice to have freedom of choice.
No doubt this will put some older fans of purchasing anything.
Get ready for forum meltdowns as the system goes down.
Just my luck, I'll finish work early v FGR, get my 50/50s around 12 and then the system will crash and no one else can buy one. I'll win, but still lose half my stake!

I believe the squad size next season is limited to 20, with players 20 years of age or under not included in the playing squad total, so by reckoning JB’s playing squad could look something like this : Belshaw Jaakkola (tbc) Ward (20 rule) Hoole Gibbons Connolly (20 rule) Anderton Kilgour Clarke Grant Jones (20 rule) Edwards (20 rule) Rossiter Finley Evans Coutts (tbc) Anderson Egan (20 rule) Heal (20 rule) Collins Loft Saunders Greenslade (20 rule) I’m assuming Westbrooke and Rodman have little or no chance of making the nominated playing squad, so by my reckoning that leaves around another four players over 20 that could be recruited, but then the salary cap comes into play (increase of £1m from last season?). Very much prepared to be put right on all this. Edit: and this list includes the requirement to have @ least 8 ‘home grown’ players included (I think!). James Connolly 2/11/2001 so will be 21 as at 01/01/2023. Luca Hoole 02/06/2002 so will be 20 as at 01/01/2023. That does not change the "picture". Connor Taylor 25/10/2001 so will be 21 as at 01/01/2023, so if he comes back he counts in the size. On your list isn't Egan a defender and doesn't Hoole count as a young player? If Edwards is Max, who played in the FA cup last season isn't he only just turned 17, so unlikely to player other than in the EFL trophy?

If you count the dots, I think this represents effective spaces taken, which is not necessarily just ST sales.
Ie, staff, volunteers, wife's and girlfriends, comps, youth team players and coaches, media/journalists and various liggers etc so that will probably account for 300+, so probably 5,500 STs, which is very good.
Just a pity the break even is likely to be 12,000+.

The EP says it is likely the club (well Wael) will have to pay a fine for the Scunthorpe pitch invasion.
Pass the fine on to the culprits I say.
And they should pay the cost of a season ticket for each of the seasons they miss while they are banned, due to the loss of income for the football club.

Not first game, but if we are around 17th at the end of November and then play Morecombe, hopefully the club will arrange a quid a kid and reduced adult admission as there will be a lot of non season ticket holders who will be financially suffering and won't be able to afford to pay on the day as a rule.
I can't imagine Morecombe will bring many so there should be plenty of spaces.
I wonder how much thought the club has given to the effect of the cost of living rises?

Leonard Rossiter, Funky Gibbons, we are just signing anyone with 70s tv links.
Next must be Dan Sweeney!

If Rossiter sets up Collins will the media team call it a Cinzano moment! Ha Ha Nice one!, was trying to think of a Leonard Rossiter connection! I just hope with all his injuries, he doesn't start to suffer with Rising Damp or it will be Goodnight Vienna!

It is a graphic novel and is exactly the sort of literature boys are encouraged to read, particularly those who do not and would not sit down with a book. Literacy and reading is a problem for boys and anything that gets them reading something other than a screen should be applauded. It is a massive well done from me. It’s very difficult to know as the various platforms have made many lazy and many will not actually read something in it’s entirety as their attention span is just so poor. We seem to live in a sound bite society nowadays. Personally i am hoping there will be a DVD or a download available of that final game. It doesn’t really matter what i think anyway as the club will do as they see fit. We could write all day and nought would come of it. Graphic novel eh, isn’t it something like 8-9 pages ? I think the comic is very underwhelming tbh. Especially for just a few quid less than the excellent Keith Brookman promotion review books. Like has been mentioned before its market seems to be for youngsters with little attention span, but the pictures are poor and the paper pongs. If you were to show your grandkids a picture of you celebrating promotion on the pitch after D&R from the Brookman book, the pictures are so clear and sharp you can easily identify yourself. On the comic, even Belly's wife would have to be told who it is meant to be in the special centrepage poster. I am sure there is a market for a comic and a proper book. I guess one is easier to produce and cheaper so more cost effective - although the proper book would just be a case of compiling the photos, stats and quotes the media team already have.

Heard good things about Egan and Greenslade. Would be good to see these lads feature together with Ward and Jones.
I think we had too many young pros previously so with only a few at the club they may now get some sort of opportunity.
See Hulbert may be going to Yeovil. Hargreaves must know him well. Seems all throughout his career he has done well, but then had a bad 3-4 months at the end of the season at Gloucester, so we got rid of him.
Maybe we forgot - Form is temporary, ability is permanent. Good luck to him.

Maybe if we all email Tom and Dave Bright to let them know what the fan base actually would like.
The media team must have the time and knowledge to produce a proper book and DVD?
If cost is an issue, maybe we could suggest a subscription, whereby say 100 people pay upfront, just to cover initial costs and when the costs are met, the club can go ahead and produce it.
I think Keith did the previous promotion books on his own, aside with a bit of help from Mike Jay and Haddrell etc, so with a much bigger media team surely they have ample time. I mean the photos and match stats and reports are already done, it just needs compiling and editing and for Dave Bright to sort out a few advertisers.
The end of season reveiw DVDs were usually being edited by Screen Soccer in March. Remember this was on top of their day jobs, so they fitted it all in, in their own time. Amazing really what a bit of passion and commitment and love of the Gas can lead to.
I think both a DVD and a proper book would be great sellers.
While the new professional regime do produce some good stuff, it is the same as all other clubs. I bet if you go to 75% of clubs shop websites, they will have a few historic kit design mugs, cushions etc.
I think the comic is a good idea as it is for the young kids who are new to supporting the club. If it works, maybe they could incorporate a similar Roy of The Rovers comic strip review of the previous match in the programme. Would be something new and may help to get the young kids into buying programmes?
On merchandise, it would good to see some uniquely Gas, Black Arab, Pirate etc designs.
Personally, I really like the crossed swords stuff rather than macron or the terrace.

Weston v City July 9th.
I remember his OG v Ipswich in the FA cup when Jason Dozzells (or was it Brennon?) shot hit the bar and hit him on the back and just crept over the line. We lost 2-1 but they were a top side and we more than matched them.
TBH, I always thought Kitey was better and we could have gone up if he played more than Cashley.
Not sure how old Ray is but he worked for many years at Weston and is one of the few keepers to have scored a goal - and this is before the Jimmy Glass type last minute up for a corner scenario.

Why not email Tom Gorringe rather asking people on here who have no more idea than you. You can then post what he has told you. While you are correct I have no idea, I do know that he gets numerous emails from fans asking the same questions. I would have thought he has much work to do over the summer and he doesn't need constant interruptions. For all I know he may be on holiday with his family. No doubt the club have already organised everything and are just awaiting the right time to announce it, just like as soon as the fixtures are out they will finalize details of watching World Cup games at the Mem. No doubt they are organised and have planned six months ahead. I merely asked a simple question, that those ITK may know and no doubt a few others may have emailed TG about this already but have not yet passed on any details. Although it is great we have a CEO who has an open door, I also respect his privacy and that he must be extremely busy.

I see a comic book is being issued soon. I can imagine if will feature Belly with a cape and a curl in the front of his hair although he wears glasses in his everyday life (perfect disguise for a goalie!).
Anyone know when the DVD and proper promotion book will be available?

Congratulaions to Anwar Uddin, who has been made a MBE for his Kick it Out work.
Other Rovers MBEs are Alan Ball, Gary Mabbutt and Jason Roberts.
Anwar has been back to the Mem several times after his playing career ended to work with the Community Trust.
No doubt only a matter of time before Adam Tutton deservedly gets similar recognition. (Though I don't think Vindaloo will win him a honour for services to music!).
