Some Gasheads don't have the best record of rating strikers (Lambert useless fat midfielder) Jefferson Louis or poor old David Gilroy for me, Akinde and Beardsley are the worst we've had on loan from another club. In fact Beardsley is probably the worst "striker" to have ever wore the blue and white quarters! This now ensures that Beardsley will score a hat trick against us when we play Mansfield. Thanks a bunch.

Just rejoined the FFSC - an oversight on my part not to renew. Paypal money sent. Happy to be back!

Really? 32 goals in 93 appearances ain't too bad. Although he was guilty of one of the all-time worst misses at Eastville when he skied the ball over the bar from about 3 yards out once. And he was married to Anthea Redfern too, so he did have something going for him.

Showing my age but my heroes were:
Alfie Biggs Harold Jarman Bobby Jones Alan Warboys Bruce Bannister Jim Eadie Phil Roberts Frankie Prince Gordon Fearnley Carl Gilbert Stuart Taylor
All in no particular order but think Harold is my number 1 if only for my North Enclosure days....

That's not good. I usually park off Filton Avenue (Wessex Avenue area) and I normally get back home in Burnham on Sea no more than an hour later, cutting through Cribbs and down the M5. Must admit though when I visit family in Fishponds after a match it does take an age to get down Muller Road. Think you may have been unlucky on this occasion though.

Chapman 7 Nothing he could do about the goal but steady performance. Good distribution.
Brown 7 Strong performance, especially in second half. Could have done better with his header though. Parkes 6 Solid but still tends to try the tricksy stuff on occasions. Good chance to score yesterday. Lockyer 7 Good performance, getting better and better J. Clarke 6 Strong runs on occasions but seems unsure of what to do next. That will come (hopefully) Sinclair 8 Usual non-stop performance.
O. Clarke 5 Very unlucky to get the red card. Unable to judge any further. Mansell 6 Started off well but seemed to lose influence as the game went on Lines 8 Best match I have seen from him this season.
Easter 5 Good holding play and a shame he was asked to play deeper after the red card. Taylor 4 Few good moments but falls down too often.
Subs: Harrison 4 Didn't do a lot Montano 3 Did even less Bodin 6 Looked good for the short time he was on and robbed of a clear penalty
Crowd 8 Good atmosphere and some good banter Ref (remember scores of 0-10, no matter how tempting it is to put a negative score) 0 That is all. Oxford 6 Wondergoal but nothing else to worry about
Oh yes and a 2/10 for the Sky Sports cameraman who caught me eating a packet of crisps when I am supposed to be on a diet. The current Mrs Eastville 1966 was not happy.
Looking on the Oxford forum it is clear they feel they were gifted the 3 points. Most saying a draw would have been a fair result, Ollie's sending off was harsh, and Bodin's penalty was clear cut.

Why has he got an antenna on top of his head? Maybe he was on trial for the Teletubbies at one stage? Or he can be remotely-controlled from the bench by DC?

Cracking song but we do need something of our own. Quite like the idea of playing Happy Days when we win, seems rather apt in the present climate! And keep Tote End Boys too.

Has to be my first ever match v. Swindon in 1966. I was 6 years old and my Grandfather (who lived in Eastville) bought tickets in the South Stand for my cousin and myself. Mum knotted a blue and white scarf and a bobble hat for me, Dad bought me a rattle and my Grandfather bought me a rosette and programme at the ground. The ticket was on the mantelpiece for a few days and I remember gazing at the ticket every day in anticipation. Won the match 3-0 and the South Stand seemed to sway with the noise when we scored. Magical times for a young lad. Spent the next few years badgering my Dad to take me to every home match. Not overly successful but I think we managed one a month until I was able to go on my own. Fast forward until 2012 when I took my own son to his first match. Hopefully he will look back on that with the same degree of affection as I.

I think the formation suited us tonight. We looked comfortable for large spells with Parkes, Lockyer and Clarke at the back. Leadbitter was superb and the Birmingham left back will be sore tomorrow. Brown was getting forward more too, which is great to see. The midfield 3 worked tirelessly. Sinclair was back to his best, chasing and harassing and Ollie did well. There is definitely a player in there with Gosling. He has decent technique and works hard but looked as if he wasn't used to centre mid, which is probably the case. I think he could do a job there in the league if needed though. Easter was good too, I thought. He holds the ball up well allowing others to play off him. It will be interesting to see what DC does at Yeovil. 532 looks a good bet. Thought it quite amusing that the PA kept on reminding us all it was Jake's birthday at every opportunity and getting no reaction whatsoever. Was looking forward to getting a party bag.

Any reason why the away shirts are 99p more expensive than the home shirts? £39.99 against £39.00 on the club shop website.
