The ref - why bother with cards, just paint one hand yellow and the other red - complete fool. We were in our normal east terrace spot and the Lino was rightly getting some stick, he got so many offsides wrong because of poor positioning. Andre - he looked capable and what a baptism coming on in that match. Last point from me - our defenders do not seem to drape their arms around opponents and push/ hold back/ hold down, but many visiting sides do and it seems to go unpunished, is that my rose coloured specs or does anyone else feel the same?

Rose coloured specs. Yesterday, their number 5 was a joke though how many times and how blatant he was pulling Gaffney's shirt. How the officials didn't notice it I will never know.

I completely agree with you. Officials just don't seem to have the guts to deal with it.Another failure by the useless FA.

View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentOk so i think its a "professional dive" from looking on youtube in slow motion, the extended highlight on ifollow etc he's sold the keeper a right good'un. Picture quality isnt the best but he jumped slocombe and fell 10ft away with no contact... Slocombe gave him no choice as otherwise he'd have chopped him down? I can't honestly see how anybody how watches football regularly can say it was a red. As far as Leads he of course went a long way to redeeming himself with the pass to Clarke for his goal, something a doubt Partington would have done. If I was DC I'd be tempted to keep that 5 men defence on Tuesday night. No way should we be playing a 5 man defence at home to the bottom club.

I still don't understand why gaffney was subbed on 55 minutes?? He wasn't injured and played well and was our main threat as bodin and Nichols weren't on their game...this also restricted the subs after the sending off...

Agree with every point and no you don't have rose coloured glasses on. Ridiculous the way Gaffney was treated yesterday. And once the defender realised he was going to get away with it he kept on going. The ref totally lost control due to not picking things up in the first twenty minutes.

The alternative would have to be Moore on the wing in 4-4-2 formation if Lines & Sincs are both out - I rest my case!

Just a bit of topic, but not worthy of a new thread..... Saw steve cotterill after the game yesterday. Not sure what he's up to these days after leaving Birmingham? Maybe he is scouting for a club and has be asked to take a look at one or two players?

I hope those that don't think Lockyer is Captain material pause and remember this game in future.
A captain's performance, vocal, organising the others, winning everything and throwing himself at the ball. Tremendous.

Not sure DC will risk playing OC & LS in the middle and he soon moved Parts from his CM role so his options seem limited.

Nothing to see here. Loads of current and ex managers visit our ground. Joe Jordan is a regular. Often see him and his son kicking about. Nice chaps and always up for a chat too.
Shamr Cottrill has to muddy the waters tho.

Happy for anyone to turn up if it continues to give us positive media coverage. Tomorrows game is a difficult one to call as whilst Oldham are bottom apparently there are some positive seeds of change there. I'm sure DC would have done his homework and keep his team and the injury situation close to his chest as always. I'm a Lines fan and really hoping he's fit tomorrow as against a team like Oldham who I think will park the bus you need all your creative players on the pitch. Having said that Gaffneys steam rolling approach to soften them up at the back initially might be helpful.

They looked surprisingly pretty decent in the highlights from Saturday though. (admittedly you can't tell much from them)
