I would imagine we will appeal against the red card and some of the yellows looked dubious - wasn't one for time wasting at a throw-in? I couldn't see that the red card was justified - there was a player between the Walsall bloke and the goal, so not for preventing a certain goal, certainly not a foul but maybe handled outside the area? Will need to see the highlights when they're on Sky News later. If it was a foul it was a red as Slocombe was the last defender, although unless he's a good actor Slocombe gave the impression he couldn't believe the ref's decision. It's nothing to do with the last defender. It's about a goalscoring opportunity. It looks to me like his mate (Roberts?) thought he was gonna get booked for diving.

Surely the drunk person has not broken any laws ? unless they were being abusive. The question here should actually be ,why was a very drunk person allowed into the stadium ? Once a person IS drunk they do not make rational decisions. If no other incidents occurred I find a ban a bit harsh (unless the person is already on a warning that is). Bad behaviour (in all five cases) should not be encouraged . Helping reform peoples behaviour is better than just washing your hands of them and passing them on to other people elsewhere to deal with.
I would like to say I don't want to divert this thread on todays game towards these issues...so if mods want to move to a new thread or just delete this post carry on.

You don't have to break any laws to be ejected from a venue. I would also suggest the club has no obligation to reform drug users and racists so in that case a ban is the only course for the club.

You are quite correct. The club and fans also should not tolerate the behaviours in the ground and they should be removed. A family I would hope would show the person compassion and a way to help heal themselves. Like organisations, charities and therapists who help people reform themselves. Saying they will be welcome back when they have demonstrated they have overcome their issue offer support and show they do actually care about their fans even if they don't have an obligation to do so. Doesn't take a lot does it.Still that might get the club some good PR and we don't want that do we. There was the true story of the Rovers hooligan who reformed himself and became a vicar ,maybe he might be interested in being involved in such things ?

The ball was put in along the six yard line, and ricocheted off a couple of players. We were shouting for handball when it fell behind OC and he twisted to get his foot on it, and it sort of limped over the line. That's how I remember it, anyway. Yep sounds right and we too were shouting hand ball! thankfully the goal helped the ref avoid needing to make a decision. blatant handball on highlights.

Great win against all the odds BUT we were second best a lot of the time today ... Walsall looked sharper, quicker to the ball and must be wondering how they came away with nothing today. Some of our players are seriously off the pace ... needs fixing and soon. We are brittle through the spine of the team ... we can't ride our luck like that every week although incredibly proud to be a Blue tonight. Agree in many ways but I hate the word 'luck' - their player fell over, ours didn't - that's not luck, that's balance and positioning. Their player made an appalling pass out of defence and we scored not long after - that's not luck either. That is a Lge 1 player, or maybe one who should be a Lge 2 player. They didn't finish chances. 10-15 teams in this lge are pretty similar ability - so to beat them all you can really do is exploit their weaknesses, accept their gifts, and do your best to keep it tight and have a plan from your side.

As I was queuing to get in a group of young lads were in the other queue in line with me one of them was 15 at the most and looked like he'd downed a couple of cans of special brew and smoked a fat skunk spliff or something along those lines.
He was basically walking backwards with his eyes closed and it was only his less drunk mates that were just about managing to keep him in the line. As we got closer to the turnstile I had a conversation with a bloke in our queue which went something like " that lads f**ked and he's only a kid there's no way they should let him in , " yeah hes hammered says the other bloke as a steward looked at him stumbling about . We said to the steward that the kid was f**ked and needed to go and sit down with his mates and not be allowed in for his safety as much as anyone else's and the steward shrugged his shoulders and said " it's got nothing to do with me " Now I've got to say if it's got nothing to do with him then what the f**k are Bristol Rovers paying him for ? We all went through the turnstile and the group of lads were in front walking towards the smoking area of the north terrace the f**ked lad could hardly put one foot in front of the other he weighed probably about 9 stone and was sbout 15 so hardly scary but was smashing his hand against the metal shutters along the clubhouse in a very aggressive way and other stewards just stood and watched. I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of those kicked out .

Partington has been superb as well. Looks well worth the money spent on him last year. Does anyone know who got man of the match? Yeah he can get forward too , leads pace is incredible but he's crazy and unpredictable in everything he does where as Partington is assured and calm in his movement and distribution. He'd be my first choice RB from here on in and I'd be telling leads to watch closely and learn because although he's got pace there's much more to it than that. Not knocking Danny mind he's come through the divisions with us and been an important player but we need league 1 standard players and Danny is a rough diamond who still needs to learn before he can be relied on as a regular at this level.

Leads back pass was awful and I really hope he's apologised to Sam because he's set up that incident. I like leads he's our quickest player and on his day he can be brilliant but he's really struggled this season. Think it went wrong before that bodin tried 1 trick too many instead of playing a simple pass they broke and hit a long ball down the wing.Leadbiter was caught wring footed and tried to pass back to the keeper but under hit the pass he then chased backed and from where I was although not in a great position I was unsure whether Slocombe or Leadbitermade the foul because both went into the tackle at the same time. leads put him through then Sams come out the strikers gone over there might have been contact but the way he dived in to it makes it look like a dive arms and legs outstretched, my initial reaction was it's a foul and a red but looking at it again their blokes made a proper dive which makes you wonder, we all make mistakes but that's what happened leads is decent but is seriously struggling this season and needs to up his game.

I can't honestly see how anybody how watches football regularly can say it was a red. As far as Leads he of course went a long way to redeeming himself with the pass to Clarke for his goal, something a doubt Partington would have done. If I was DC I'd be tempted to keep that 5 men defence on Tuesday night.

It seems to have been forgotten that it is a Criminal Offence to enter a designated sporting event whilst drunk or be drunk st such an event. The reasons,of course, the law was introduced was due to the violence and disasters of the 1980's. If the stewards are unable to enforce the law we will see a reintroduction of a police presence at the ground, which will be very expensive. Racial chanting/abuse is similarly a Criminal Offence. The standard of stewarding is very mixed and I would fear for people's safety should violence rear its ugly head at the stadium. It's essential that supporters assist the club in being vigilant of Criminal Behaviour, for our good reputation and to ensure our future plans for development of the ground are not quashed at the planning stage.
