My line up based on Tuesdays performance:
--------Slocombe--------
Parts--Broads--Sweens--Bola
----------Clarke----------
Bodin----------------Lines
---------Sercombe---------
---Telford------Gaffers----
Bola gets another start as he deserves it based on his performance.
Leads us rested, he played really well tbf but limped off.
Telford impressed for the little time he was on and I'd like to see him and Gaffers together as I think they could make a good partnership.
Clarke is not at his absolute best at the mo but should play imo as he is captain and can play defensive midfielder protecting the back four due to Locks absence.

If DC is planning on dropping BB or the returning Sincs could he let us know in advance and I'll stay at home!! With Locks out I assume OC is stand in captain, if so, I guess that means he's virtually guaranteed to start. As far as posters saying Parts is a more solid defender than Leads, didn't they notice that Parts was caught hopelessly out of position for Wolves goal on Tuesday? I was going on the basis that Leadbitter limped off after a long game and so might not be ready for another start. BB probably needs a small rest so a spot on the bench for the next match might refresh him. Don't want him to burn out. I think partington had been on the pitch about a minute when they scored (please correct if wrong) Good job BB didn't leave in the transfer window else you wouldn't be going at all I guess (?)
Are we really thinking about players being burnt out before October??!

Does that make a difference to a player being caught out of position? Anyway just highlighting he's not as solid as some posters are making out. We haven't sold BB so your point irreverent but if we had then you'd hope DC would have got in a decent replacement with some of the £500K+ we would have received, if DC wants to rest BB he can wait until the Pompey game!

None of the red cards were players "losing it" Let me help you out. By losing it I meant any of the following (and maybe more):
- losing self control - losing shape - losing positional discipline - losing confidence or concentration - losing support or interest in, or from, team-mates - losing determination or commitment (very unlikely as we are The Gas) - losing fitness or pace etc
Take your pick, but the red cards are a sign of something not right.
I dont agree. Slocombe made a split second decision to come and clear the ball after the poor back pass. Sweeney got the wrong side of the striker and was a bit naive in tangling with him and giving away the penalty. Lockyer got the red card with rovers pushing for a winner and stopped their man from a run on goal to stop him making it 2-0. No player "lost it" Everyone knows "losing it" means losing your rag not most of the stuff in your list. We have struggled at times this season which means red cards for "denying a goal scoring chance" have been more likely imo.

We don't need Tom Lockyer to tell us that, we were there or saw it on telly. Not a nasty foul there in any of the three but they were all last man so hard to ague with any of them although I thought slocombes was a dive but if he hadn't have dived he would have been taken out. If we weren't caught out on the counter with our full backs so far up the pitch or making mistakes ( leads pass ) then we probably wouldn't have conceded any of those reds but it's hard to argue with DCs mentality he does like to go for it which compared to John Bored before him Is much more refreshing and has been much more successful.

Agree with you Socrates, but I would also add, did Sweeney and Lockyer need to bring down/pull back their players and risk the near-obvious red card in the situations they found themselves in ? Last season we barely had a red card (??) but this season ............

I know last season there were plenty saying that we defend too deep and the gaps between the midfield and defence or midfield and attack were too big. Tom and Sweeney aren't the fastest so if they get caught out fouling is probably their only hope of stopping the forward running through.

At a recent q&a dinner dc was asked what injury was partington nursing. DC replied hamstring,he also explained he was more likely to select leadbitter against a fast winger. This comes from the other forum.

Are we really thinking about players being burnt out before October??! Two games a week most weeks including two games playing with 10 men and then a 120 minute midweek game. Its certainly more intense than later in the year when its one game a week.

True but I still stand by no player should be needing a rest at this stage. In Bodins case he has had a rest for the last 2 games. Maybe a kick up the arse would be more beneficial?

Billy bodins is human like the rest of us and he must have had all sorts of contradicting thoughts during the transfer window. Matty taylor is on 12k per week at city and if billy had gone to QPR or fulham on a 3 year deal just imagine the security that would give him in life as well as playing in much better football. Its bound to affect a person, not for long though hopefully.

I think your last line basically agreed with my suggestion. Not performing so needs a reminder ,the lack of performance maybe down to either physical tiredness or mental tiredness.
