I really hope he gives Bola a real chance now, from what little I've seen of him, and read on here and what Notts County had to say about him, he really deserves a proper chance now. County loved him there, said he was way to good for league 2, and will probably be to good for league 1 too!!!! Hopefully Telford gets a start too, as with Bola, from what little I've seen, and heard of him he deserves a run of games. With Lockyer banned, I'd go with Sweeney & Burn, Parts on the right if fit. Sercombe, Bodin, Clarke and Moore in the middle. With Telford and Gaffers up top.
2-0 Gas win, 8300 168 Blackpool fans.
Still can't get my head around this being a Cat A game....

What did Broadbean do wrong? I would stick with him over Burn, providing he is okay after playing 105 minutes? Moore I'm still not convinced but I suppose his place will depend on what system we play? I'm really looking forward to this one coming over from Cardiff on the train and it's my b/day so might be one or 2 sherberts consumed! UTG

UTG The only reason I had Moore in is because the rest are much of a much ness. Can't believe Monty can't get in a team that is bottom of the football league. And Moore gets game time here. Happy Birthday for Saturday!!

Slocombe
Partington, Burn, Sweeney, Bola
Sercombe, Clarke, Lines
Bodin, Harrison, Telford
Bola deserves a run of games now after impressing last night and his previous displays. I'd go with Burn for the right/left foot balance, but if Burn isn't fit id go with Broadbent. Telford has looked good in his limited appearances and will be looking to impress against one of his former clubs. If we play like we did last night and create as many chances, we should win. I fancy us to do just that on Saturday.
2-1 Rovers.
UTG!!!

Happy Birthday for Saturday!! Cheers Gaz it's Sunday actually but close enough. Although it was great to not lose over the 90 minutes I just hope that the extra time doesn't come back to bite us on the arse! Well I suppose it already has with Lockyear. I really hope both Bola & Telford start they both deserve it + Gaffers.

I don't get the absolute fascination with right footed and left footed centre half partnerships. It's ideal but not a game changer and after watching Burn at Bradford there's no way he can start. I know sween and broadbent are both similar first ball centre halves but they can sort that out in training, when to go, when not to go etc.
I think it's time for Telford to start but would want him in a 2 up top. I think Bodin plays better in a 4-4-2 as opposed to 4-3-3 as he can come from deeper (ahem) and finds a bit more space coming on to the ball as opposed to back to goal.
But then that could leave us exposed so maybe play fit again Sincs the other side to firm us up a bit. Would be a touch lopsided though
No simple answer and this will probably be miles off, and what may end up happening is it turns into a 4-3-3 with the same personnel.
Slocombe
Part Sween Broadbent Bola
BB Lines Serc Sinc
Gaff Telford
Ellis, Leads and OC to have a breather. I think Gaff would hold it up better and work the channels to allow Telford some space as opposed to ellis who is a bit more static.
God knows!!!

Need to put an end to these sendings-off. They signal desperation by players who have lost it. That's not like Rovers, so need to make sure we don't get into desperate situations in the first place.

I was thinking the same the other night. Going back over the years when we've had a lot of sending offs and injuries it's normally been at a time when things are going tits up off the pitch as well as on it. I don't think that's happening to us and I trust DC to get things right this season because he always has in the past but I am a bit worried that things have gone a bit stale and I think all he can do to freshen it up between now and January is give some of the fringe players a chance over some of the underperforming players who have been here a long time. To be fair he did that Tuesday and I'd like to see Gafney start with Telford up front Saturday and Bola start again too. Keep all the players on their toes.

None of the red cards were players "losing it" How do you know if they've lost it or not and have become a bit desperate? You don't see the likes of Chelsea/Man C etc suddenly having 3 players sent off in quick succession, although it could be struggling teams never get the rub of the green, ref's decisions wise, on another day both Sweeney & Locks might have got away with a yellow.

Sweeney yes- Locks No. Just incredibly unfortunate too have 3 on trot like that in my view. Here's hoping for 11 on the pitch come full time on Saturday!
