Am I the only one who is concerned at the amount of threads that are locked or anchored ? what is the criteria the mods use ? I hooe it is not an individual decision. Surely it would be better to delete the offending post ot the thread completely as leaving something up that nobody can comment on does not make sense on a forum. I also don't think it is necessary for a mod to say he is locking the thread.

The thread can be unlocked, also it is useful to let other mods see the thread in its entirety before deleting so all can view and come to an agreed decision....
There are often times when a single mod has to take 'solo' action. It's unavoidable, it's Sunday, we're all enjoying our Sunday afternoons, we are not all online, and we are not in communication with eachother outside of this place....

Am I the only one who is concerned at the amount of threads that degenerate into tit for tat childish bollocks or yet another racism debate that are then locked or anchored ? what are the poor mods supposed to do ? Im certain it is not an individual decision. Surely it would be better if posters moderated themselves then the thread can develop completely so that everyone can comment sensibly on this football forum. I also don't think it is necessary for a mod to say he is locking the thread but it's much better than faceless moderation where mods hide behind anonymity. Fixed that for you. |
