No, I can't exactly considering the post is now deleted. You said something along the lines of 'good job he didn't say allahu akbar, or the outcome could have been very different'. That's certainly the message your post gave, and not just to me. Hence why the thread was locked. AGAIN!!! Where did I imply they were terrorists, if anything you are implying it, not me..... Just saying. The thread was locked because I was abused by a a schoolkid! Nice try, the post isn't deleted... Would you make this joke about other races? Say it to wael or his brother next time you see them and see if they find your ignorance acceptable. |

Am I the only one who is concerned at the amount of threads that are locked or anchored ? what is the criteria the mods use ? I hooe it is not an individual decision. Surely it would be better to delete the offending post ot the thread completely as leaving something up that nobody can comment on does not make sense on a forum. I also don't think it is necessary for a mod to say he is locking the thread. No criteria. We make it up as we go along. Sometimes we have a little chat and reach a rough agreement of whoever happens to be around. Sometimes we act on our own. We're just a random collection of Gasheads who use the forum, just like everyone else. We don't have any real doctrine or policy. We just play it by ear, just trying to make the worst bits of the forum slightly better for everyone in a vague sort of half-arsed way. That's all. Personally, I'd much prefer to see threads closed or anchored so everyone can see what's happening, especially if they're part of a sequence of interactions. Deleting posts could make stuff unclear or confusing. Also, istm it's worthwhile a mod saying he's locking a thread, just so people can see who did it, and they can also add a message for why, if it's not obvious. |

Im certain it is not an individual decision. Surely it would be better if posters moderated themselves then the thread can develop completely so that everyone can comment sensibly on this football forum. I also don't think it is necessary for a mod to say he is locking the thread but it's much better than faceless moderation where mods hide behind anonymity. Fixed that for you.
