Mate. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my eldest son in April 2016 so I know what you're going through. The only comfort I can offer is the pain eases with time. I have made a donation on your just giving page. Stay strong for your family. Best wishes mate. Oldgas. So sad mate and I feel for you - these things aren't meant to happen. Thank you for your support Feel for both of you fella's, wish there was a magic wand that could be waved at times like these, i know personally what you are feeling like at present and it's a feeling that should never happen to any parent, only advice i can give is this if the grief overwhelms you or your family, talk to someone outside of immediate family, if a family member wants to speak to you or is suffering then speak to them ,i learnt that it's ok to cry, get angry, question everything, feel like your going to explode, it's ok it normal, as Oldgas said it gets easier with time, the best thing you can do for your Grandkids is just be there offer them a shoulder to cry on no matter how hard it is, let them know that no matter what happens you will be there to listen and help them. sorry for both yours and oldgas's loss

God guys I really appreciate this as I know their mother is going to be overwhelmed by you support. I feel quite humbled by your efforts. Please if you feel you'd like to attend the funeral on Friday at Westerleigh Riverside Chapel @ 14:45. I will be carrying Darrens coffin with his brothers and doing the euology so easy to spot. The wake is at Pomphrey Hill Sports Pavillion in Mangotsfield after Regards Chris

My sincere condolences on your loss. I lost my brothers & parents in a really crazy 3 year period and I can’t say I’m over it even now but I eventually went for bereavement counselling with CRUISE & even though the loss never goes away, you learn to live with it rather than it overwhelming you. Wishing you & your family all the very best. You’ll be on auto pilot until the funeral is done and people not around. It’s never right for a parent to be burying his own kid.

Wow! I don't post very often as so many of you lot depress me/make me angry! I lost my Dad 2 weeks ago and reading all of the wonderful support on here makes me realise just how special the Gas Family are. I'm sat here crying my eyes out! Stay strong Chris, I can't imagine what you're going through, but rest assured this thread proves you're not alone.

I’m so sorry to hear of your significant loss as well and yes I’m overwhelmed by the support of this forum - it’s staggering and I thank you all ion behalf of the family from the bottom of my heart. The hamper will be amazing and warmly received I know by Jade on behalf of the children - a bottle of white wine would be fine but otherwise general treats for the kids would be fab as we are trying to make this special for them as well as unexpected !! Thank you so much for all your efforts. It’s the funeral today and so going to be especially hard for them.
