Heartbreaking all this. Bloody hell. Life can be so cruel especially this time of year. As Hugo says we’ll done all for contributing. I will get out to collect a couple of nights next week, let me know your areas and we’ll arrange a time/place. I’m wondering if there is somewhere at the club people could leave items for me to collect? I am working right through this weekend. If not I will get to you all somehow. Best wishes Lympstone, and you Tilly. If I remember rightly you live around Stapleton so not too far from me?

If someone could ask the club shop if it’s ok to put stuff aside you’d be doing me a massive favour. I’m up against it this week.

I will buy a couple of tins of chocolates. Can I meet one of you at Saturdays game as I live miles from Bristol? Cheers. I'm miles from Bristol too, and won't unfortunately can't make Saturday's game due to illness. I've picked light weight goods in the hope that I can post them to somebody who lives near the Mem, or visits The Welly, and would be able to hand them over for me. Alternatively, I might make the home game on 9th December if that's not late. Great effort everybody - the Gas Family never ceases to amaze me. Hoping you have a return to good health very soon TT

Thanks guys for all that you are doing, your kind words and all that attended the funeral. God that was hard - I carried the coffin in with my other 2 sons, wrote the service and delivered the eulogy as wanted to give Darren the best send off ever. Amazing overwhelming turn out of around 400 people with lots of the footballing world attending and its brilliant to see both clubs unite behind the family and get great results today. It is never right to bury/cremate your own kid. All that I can say and from bitter experience is that the pain never goes away but you slowly learn to live with it rather than it overwhelming you one thing I wish I did much earlier was getting bereavement counselling. CRUSE helped me more than anyone ever did this thread shows me how we still do have some of the most decent fans. I hope your future is much better, it’s times like this that give us perspective. Good luck and god bless you & your family

As my previous post will throw in a couple ofbottles of wine (1 red, 1white) and a box of chocolates. Will need to meet before game Saturday to hand over due to my location. Would appreciate if a mod could add me to the list. Happy to provide some cash to buy or vouchers. Let me know which is best suited please

Our beloved rescue dog collapsed suddenly last night and she had to be put to sleep at the vets.Still very raw, so going to skip Saturday. We however have to be in the Bristol area on Monday for a family xmas pressie drop off etc. Quite happy to drop off my promis ed items to yourself/ someone or at the Mem if that proves to be an option. Let me know ASAP. UTG! Gutted for you mate. People say they are just like family, no, they ARE family. So sorry for your loss. I know this may not be something you agree with but I’ve found getting a pup or kitten, dependent on preference, is a great tonic. It doesn’t stop your loss and pain but can provide some funny moments to keep your mind occupied and not dwell too much. I lost 4 in 18 months, that was 6 years ago. Facebook has a thing called Facebook memories and when the photos of those very special cats come up, it still makes my eyes leak. Chin up bidefordgas, you gave the dog a life it could only have dreamed of. Having a rescue is a wonderful thing

Missing my first game of the season tomorrow, but friends/family visiting on Monday and will stop by the mem to drop off my items for the hamper, which for obvious reasons is a great cause especially at this time of year.

These are now collected from the club, thank you to the three kind souls who contributed. I am meeting Russ at The Mem gates tonight at 7 o’clock to collect his items, so please if you can spare some potato snacks, crackers for cheese etc or anything that could help a Gashead’s grieving family at Christmas please pop by and drop them off.

UTG! Fair play and well done to everyone contributing to the hamper. In fairness there are a plenty of posters on here who've contributed via the Just Giving page. Excellent work Gasheads.

I called Chris (Lympstone Gas) tonight and he is truly grateful for all the donations so far kindly given. Can i just ask, if you haven't read this yet or haven't donated, this is a family of four children grief stricken at the most emotional time of year and a mother also grief stricken yet trying her best to try to provide some small comfort to her children while also desperately trying to come to terms with her own great loss. So please, if you can, please consider helping out this family at a time of incredible need and distress. Every contribution will help whether big or small and will be gratefully received by them all.
Heres the link again to the Just Giving page: link
