And people slag off the current board for not paying fortunes on players !
Its been said before and this is further proof ,the club was heading for extinction or in the least a ground share with Bath City again .
It shows how in fairness to that situation the previous board knew they had no negotiating room at all with UWE.It was their deal or extinction. So when the sainsburys deal fell through that was it. Had new owners not stepped in then the club would have not had the money for the stadium. The old board would have had to announce this and then that the club would still have to sell the mem to pay off its debts.
Losing the rent from the rugby club was obviously a major blow to the clubs income streams ,and why SL wanted them at the Gate.

I'm i the only one who doesn't give a f**k ? Its only the sh*t stirring board haters that do i fear Well the board don't help themselves again with their communication skills. It was a news item on Points West this lunchtime and ended with "the club have declined to comment"

I'm i the only one who doesn't give a f**k ? No you are not the only one who does not care about people being employed below minimum wage but some of us do and the news coverage is not good PR for the club. Thankfully is sounds like the old regime but still not right.

Treating people fairly and hating the board are two different things. I'm just disappointed about the bad PR for the club.

Literally any reason to have a go isn't it?

I have edited the thread title. But don't let that stop anyone from slagging off the current owners. I created the thread after reading an article in the "mirror online" and naturally believed it would be of interest to rovers fans. As there has been no official statement from the club are you a] certain its from the old regime? b] justified in changing the title of the thread? Regarding the subject matter if its bad publicity for primark etc etc its also bad publicity for BRFC.

If the Post is reporting it's from the old board, you can be sure it's from the old board as they never miss a chance to put the boot in.

Literally any reason to have a go isn't it? FFS. They should have made a comment to make it clear that it applies to the previous ownership because the news article suggested it was now! That is why they should have not declined to comment. Ok?

Love how quick people are to stick the boot in despite not knowing the facts. The old regime were clearly mugging off staff as well as the fans yet the new board are taking sh** for it! The new board clearly inherited a whole heap of problems from the old one which I'm sure has a big effect to this day. The one thing I would like clarity over is how, given that we own our own ground, don't massively overpay on wages and get good attendances, is it so hard for us to ever get anywhere near breaking even? Are there some significant overheads for us somewhere which we don't know about? This isn't a dig. I just would like to understand it. It seems more of a miracle than ever in this context that we survived at Twerton. The Dunfords must have ploughed a lot of money into us at one time or another. Agree May 2nd. Something, somewhere must be wrong, we have 8000 average well above Scunthorpe Rochdale and many others who have half that yet we have no money and struggle. Why? This is not a dig at anyone just a plea for someone to explain why. What historical costs or anything do we have that others don’t. UTG!

When the Al Qadi family took over one of the first things Steve Hamer noticed was many of the club staff had no contract of employment, this was one of the many things they had to rectify as soon as possible.

So sad so many inaccuracies in one piece including the division Rovers play in and a quote by a so-called expert who hasn't checked the facts before commenting
