Not so sure he's had that much of a chance. Same with our borrowed players much of the time. Scored a classy goal at Bolton, and I thought that might be the kick start he'd need. But no. In fact if players deserve a chance, I'd suggest that DC goes and sees the development side more often than he does. There are at least two there that should be in and around the first team squad. The 3 development matches i went to dc was there,on 2 of the games i even spoke to him about some of the young players. He was at a morning game at yate the same day rovers were at wolves.

Strange how some obviously talented wingers fall by the wayside;Jake Gosling, wonderfully talented but far too peripheral in games,Monty who I rated but can't get in the Vale team and now BM who when he played at Wolves-last time I saw him play,-looked very lack lustre. Vale fans here reminded me that Lewis Haldene played for them and he too was very hit and miss for them and sustained a very bad injury. Also talking of Byron Moore.Seems his Mum works near my village of Eccleshall. We tend to forget players too have their own individual lives, family issues and concerns outside of Sat afternoons. That's a good description of him in my view.

BM played 51 games for PV leading them to offer him a new contract, he seems to have put the family issues BB likes to write about so graphically on here behind him before he even joined us. It was good to see him replacing Bennett on Saturday and perhaps replacing him in future games will give him more 1st team opportunists.

If Byron needs help and encouragement to find his feet and return to his pre family tragedy form.he couldn't be with a better club,or a better "family" of players, and led by a manager who clearly has the ability to nurse players through difficult times, i believe D/C is working very hard on him and sat cameo could be the start of Byron's renaissance, sincerely hope to see more and more of him, and its up to us fans to really get behind him when ever he gets the chance and show Byron what this club is all about! come on Byron ,come on you blues!

It's sad to see any of our players struggle but BM has been given plenty of chances to prove himself. He is probably on a good wage and DC being mindful of his budget must be contemplating releasing him and I hope he gets a chance to restart his career at another club whether it league 1 or2

I really hoped joining Rovers would re-ignite Byron's career but sadly it does not seem to have worked out as well on the playing side as most of us hoped. I think I would prefer to see Broom given a new contact next year and hope he can push-on.

Great post, bit of a wildcard from this point on. Really hope he can do himself justice with whatever opportunities he gets from now until the end of the season.

Maybe I'm heartless, but it has been 4 years since the tragic event unfolded. Whilst the circumstances are unpleasant, we all have to deal with it sooner or later and at some point come to terms with it, put it behind us and move on. If I had underperformed for 4 years after a family tragedy in my job I'd get the sack.

Four years may seem like a long time, but to him may feel like yesterday.

The man has plenty of ability so there’s always a chance that he could have a lot to offer us if it clicks for him, I’d like to see him get some game time between now and the end of the season, he’s a Rovers player still so let’s have another shot at seeing if he can bring something to the table... I can’t help but feel like he can

I hope your right but i think bennett especially and mensah are more likely to get game time than byron if we play with wide midfielders.

Moore can come on as a straight swap for Bennett, as he did on Saturday. I wonder if DC will "trust" Mensah again as a late sub after the Shrewsbury goal.

I’m sure Mensah will again eventually but the fact that Moore got the nod ahead of him in the very next game after the mistake has to says something, for now I think that may have edged Moore ahead of him, just have to see what Moore does with it

Very quick, skillful, great touch on the ball, can play on either wing. Whats to become of byron? A top player for crewe in league 1 and 2 and although not a massive success at port vale was offered a new contract by them before accepting rovers offer of a 2 year deal. Desperately sad tragic events blighted his personal life and seemingly affected his football career. With rovers he usually starts brightly but ultimately dosnt deliver whats required. On the bench on saturday ahead of telford and bola so maybe theirs hope yet for byron as dc is never quick to give up on players . No realistic chance of a new contract is there? I mean apart from ellis harrison pre-season im not sure anyone is rated lower amongst the fan base. One day he will retire from not playing professional football.

Hope he finds a decent club next, was quite excited when he signed but it just hadn’t worked out. Everybody encounters sadness in their life and you cannot put a time limit on when people recover, however will be behind Bernie and Kyle now, can see him at Forest gumps or Cheltenham. If I was him I would get my contract paid up and become a free agent.
