Incidentally, Macron declined to blame Russia until he was satisfied. He has now signed the joint statement along with Germany and the US which is telling. |

You don't get Trump, Macron and especially Merkal signing a joint statement or indeed May making these allegations, unless they are convinced. It is far too serious to provoke Putin without themselves being certain. This just isn't the same as fabricating evidence to take on Saddam as I am sure many are seeing parallels with. |

Whatever the truth, it`ll be interesting to see what the Russians do next. Hopefully they`ll confine themselves to kicking out a dozen or so of our, er, diplomats, and then wiser heads can prevail. What does Putin get out of all this, apart from creating an "us and them" mentality in his country? Which we`re doing in spades.

Not sure Moscow would accept anything other than a Russian Court so I'm afraid you may have a long wait. |

Dont forget an actual person or people did the deed. Usually the police etc try to make arrests when theres a crime. Its pretty obvious the evidence is purely circumstantial. If you could put russia in a court in this country there wouldnt be enough evidence to get a conviction. |

If you could put russia in a court in this country there wouldnt be enough evidence to get a conviction. If you haven't seen the evidence then you don't know whether it would stand up and the actual investigation into which individuals were involved is still ongoing. Russia has a non extradition policy, Litvineko's alleged killers were named by the inquest yet remain free in Russia. I admire your idealism and would stand up for you with other posters but I fear it is misplaced on this ocassion. |
