Yes, I know. I used to have the Action Man Diver as well, and putting that rubber suit on him was a friggin nightmare ! But I have seen the advert, and I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that Action Man is depicted in this way. The advert is revisionist nonsense and does not deserve to be shown on television. Good advert though isn't it? No. It is not. I will never ever be a customer of that company. I refuse to name them as they are dead to me. However, I am well aware that you and your mates in the Blue Oyster Club may like the advert.

Hugo don't forget that these so called troll farms exist world wide the yanks have the cia amongst others, did you know that in the early days of online computers ,even back to the old mainframe and bulletin board days the majority of viruses emanated from isreal and as far as i know still do. Don't forget the yanks gather every bit of data they can via the nsa, and have released some of the most intrusive spyware to spy on not only the yanks but everybody else , did you also know that our intelligence service via GCHQ built a telephone tower in line with the others(a bit like the real bt tower at purdow ,with the sole intention of intercepting phone calls and monitoring phone comms.) the cold war never really went away and is not quite as intense as it has been still remember when everyone was sent a survival guide by the government, all that really happened was when the wall fell and we withdrew from our german bases, it just made it easier to spy on each other, one of the best wind up ever done was by the band crass, have a read of the link i will post this really happened not bad for a few punks www.buzzfeed.com/jimwaterson/how-an-anarchist-punk-band-almost-caused-a-cold-war-diplomat?utm_term=.sqDbR2A5G#.agpLJE3a8something so simple and in today's times it would be easier to do it again. alsdo look for jello biafras spoken word on 911, he states that he got more truthfull info from a friend in the uk who rang him than he got from the usa (will add to it later need to go visit someone ) Thank crap I've got a hat made of tinfoil. Bags everything i posted is true look it up. you'd need more than a tinfoil hat if you were a yank, cia experimented with lsd on it's own troops in Vietnam , carried out all sorts of experiments on it's citizens look up mk ultra, also look up tuskagee where the us infected lots of poor blacks with syphilis to study the effects of long term infection under the guise of a new drug, could go on for days about the yanks, our military have been used as guinea pigs especially with chemical warfare. Also have a look at the llink i posted absolute classic

Inee - All that time we spent feckin about with Fuller's Earth to decontaminate, and now, apparently, the government tell people to just wash their clothes in a washing machine ! What's that all about then? Heres the thing you cant wash off radiation, probably a goverment strap line to remove the dimp softy generations today, one question i asked was simply when we eat(remember that test dog biscuit in a shed full of cs ) will we get contaminated surprisingly no one answered, i also decided that if the balloon went up then there was no point in fighting in a noddy suit as yer family was going to die anyway . Thing is back then the thread was real always did chuckle at the home leaflets remove doors and build a shelter, so lets get this straight 4 minute warning ,remove 3 or 4 doors lean against a wall cover with anything on hand, and that was supposed to save you. Obviously the feckwit who wrote that book had never heard of Nagasaki or Hiroshima , and probably though the song enola gay was about some gentlemans club. Thanks for the memory though i can now taste biscuits brown and fullers earth forgot to say a noddy suit with boots makes an excellent cold weather fishing suit .

I listened to a really interesting debate a few days ago about so called Russian Troll farms and their alleged interference in Facebook, Fake News and the US elections. There is some evidence that they are not involved in half as much as they are being accused of. US intelligence are actively using Facebook to manipulate its own citizens and subject them to propaganda. Something that is actually unconstitutional. It's also entirely possible that someone else is trying to set Russia up for a fall on this but looks more likely that Russia are involved. Its really quite impressive/fishy how we seem to have slipped into a cold war with Russia and that those evil Muslims and ISIS seemed to be long forgotten. I don't trust a bloody thing anyone tells me anymore. We live in very dangerous times with all sides lying and manipulating us more than it's ever happened before. Hugo don't forget that these so called troll farms exist world wide the yanks have the cia amongst others, did you know that in the early days of online computers ,even back to the old mainframe and bulletin board days the majority of viruses emanated from isreal and as far as i know still do. Maybe if we really wanted to sanction the russians we could stop selling them weapons grade nuclear material. But guess what? that wont happen. We've got to sell it to someone , but it aint just us look at our so called allies the frogs continued to sell missiles to the argies during the falklands war and even went as far as sending technicians to argentina to ensure the missile were effective. we should also stop selling arms to the Saudis as a lot of it ends up being used against us in conflicts. Thing is with putin you have an ex special forces president wo din't like the destruction of russia and eastern europe so is now trying to get it back as it was. churchill should have destroyed russia at the end of ww2

Well, well, well. It seems as though 'The West' has finally decided enough is enough regarding Putin. Diplomats are being evicted from loads of countries today... The numbers may not be large, but it is symbolic.
USA - 60 Italy - 2 Denmark - 2 Germany - 4 Holland - 2 Estonia - 2 Czech - 1 Ukraine - 13 Lithuania - 3 Latvia - 1 France - 4 Poland - 4

My concern is that Putin has built a reputation of standing up to the West and we have to get the balance right between a solid, unified response and not giving sufficient ammunition to his own narrative in which he will want and need to respond.

I agree. It is obvious now that the whole Salisbury incident was nothing to do with the victims, but rather it was the method used that was sending a message. There is a bigger game being played out here, and maybe we'll never know the full story or reasons. Hats off to the Foreign Office, and the Foreign Secretary though. They've played a blinder here. PS - How on earth are there so many 'Russian Diplomats' in the Ukraine?

Our diplomatic corps seem to still have influence, which is good. Hopefully we can start rebuilding their budget to help strengthen them in the future.
As for your last point, no idea, but there are allegedly a couple of thousand 'holidaying' in the Donbass!

As for your last point, no idea, but there are allegedly a couple of thousand 'holidaying' in the Donbass! I read something earlier about the next big push for the EU is expansion into the Balkans. However, it is well known that the Russians are handing out passports like confetti in the Balkans. The invasion of the Crimea, Ukraine and Georgia by the Russians were all conducted under the claim of 'protecting Russian passport holders'. In can be argued that the whole Ukrainian War was provoked by the EU expansion policy. There may be trouble ahead..... and that 'couple of thousand holidaying in the Donbass' are all on leave from the Russian Army.....apparently.

I don't want to go into a pro/anti EU thread drift and I do understand the logic, although respectfully disagree.
Ukraine is a sovereign nation whose borders were agreed by Moscow after the break up of the Soviet Union and should be allowed to follow the path they want to, be that to remain close to Russia or to forge new alliances. I don't recall us making any threats to Dublin for joining the Euro or invading Provance.
The same is for the Baltic nations who couldn't join quick enough, both the EU and NATO. I do agree that the Balkans could be 'interesting' although Transnistria is more likely to be the next stop off for little green men.
Certainly R&R in Eastern Ukraine is not good for the health.

Belgium, Ireland, Australia and NATO all follow suit. Russia now blaming the US for putting pressure on the smaller countries.
On a more human level, in an interview on Sky, Mr Skripal's friend is thinking that it would be a relief if they are allowed to die such will be the effect of the nerve agent. So sad.

With my very limited knowledge of NA I also think it's best to just let them die. They will never recover.

Not sure how relevant this is to the thread but breaking news is that Nick Carter is getting the CDS position. Shame I was hoping for Gordon Messenger as the first RM CDS.
The National Security Strategy is due to be published soon, wonder what it contains about certain recent events. May be too recent as these reports are pretty long in their gestation.

Hhmmm, not sure about this appointment. There seems to be a lot of teeth gnashing going on on certain websites. Having seen the recent recruiting adverts for the British Army, which he must have had some input into, then you can only despair.
