so we should v the bottom club, poor performance like the Northampton game I’m dreading Wigan,Blackburn & Charlton games we will get found out v them Play offs are about as likely as relegation it’s not happening, the few that get interviewed with Geoff after the game I don’t know what game they were watching Geoff even said a city fan said young Ollie has got a future in journalism, think he was being sarcastic And this is the exact reason why this forum has become a embarrassment..."and so we should", so your moaning about the fact that we actually did do what you thought we should? Just don't get those who want to moan at ever little thing, laughable. At the end of the day, we could have won the by 4 or 5. Dreading the Blackburn and Wigan games like pompey and Bradford yeah? pompey and Bradford? They are no better than us,the table doesn’t lie

If he was good enough he would have got into the team, its not like he's even had any competition I would have to disagree, until January Bodin pretty much owned the right side of midfield which is also Byron's preferred position. It's no coincidence that since Bodin has left Byron has had more game time imo. I actually think there's a decent player in there which he's starting to glimpses of right now. Oh well, almost 2 seasons and we are just starting to see glimpses. I saw glimpses from Gosling too and look where he is

The game played out as I expected really, a tough battle and one, on the balance of play, we deserved to win...just about! I don't think anyone particulary stood out, although I'd say Bennett was deservedly MOTM. Nichols had one or two chances, but his confidence seems to be low (for obvious reasons) and he got knocked off the ball too easily for my liking. Telford came on, looked lively and took his goal well...hopefully he'll get more of an opportunity between now and the end of the season. I thought Bola and Mensah had poor games today unfortunately. Both of their crossing was wayward (apart from one beauty from Bola) and Bola looked shaky in defence on occasions. A win is a win and we keep our slim playoff chances alive. Another win on Monday is a must...Onwards and upwards... UTG I thought Bola was ok. Partington had a shocker imo and his poor game didn't help Mensah. Bennett looked head and shoulders better than anyone else today. Felt sorry for Nichols because he should have burried that header early on and if he had I think it would have been a comfortable win. It's all about opinions I suppose, but I thought Bola was poor overall. Most of his crosses were wayward or hit the first man and thought Ismail got the better of him on a few occasions. He looked a bit sluggish to me. As for Partington, I also thought he wasn't at his best. Some of his crossing was also poor and sometimes I feel he lacks a yard of pace and a bit of mobility when playing as a right back. Again, all about opinions. Like you say, that probably didn't help Mensah. Having said that, Mensah didn't beat his man for enough for me and he's another one who's crossing was poor today. Perhaps he was trying too hard to impress or something, but I thought he looked a bit of a rabbit in the headlights at times. I'm sure he'll improve though.

We created loads of chances today and on another day could have had 5. We hit the woodwork 3 times and had one off the line plus Nichols poor header in the first half. Plus a few good save from their keeper. so we should v the bottom club, poor performance like the Northampton game I’m dreading Wigan,Blackburn & Charlton games we will get found out v them Play offs are about as likely as relegation it’s not happening, the few that get interviewed with Geoff after the game I don’t know what game they were watching Geoff even said a city fan said young Ollie has got a future in journalism, think he was being sarcastic What do you expect Barcelona style football week after week with players plucked out of the conference and players that suit our budget from other clubs ,we could lose too any side in this league but also beat any side. Take a rain check PP we’ve played some good football some bad and been indifferent but well placed for what DC’S budgets allowed him a good season overall imo I don’t think he’ll be with us next season I’m afraid then you’ll have something to moan about. The Wigan,Blackburn and Charlton games are a great challenge for the players and us fans will be looking forward to those games win lose or draw they will be up to it I’m sure.

Bennett looked a class above today, Ellis was unlucky not to score, Nicho lively, Telford strong and took his goal well. Moore looks a different player of late. Frustrated with Parts crossing and a few of Linesys corners however took the pen coolly 😎 so let him off! Pitch was heavy but you can see the groundsmen have spent a lot of time and effort making it playable so they deserve some credit. I think we can sneak into the top six, but must go for it now with wins as draws ain’t no good, shot or bust time! Dust ourselves down onto the next project them players did us proud today. I was also impressed with the playing surface today. We have had a lot of rain in the last day and a bit. I was expecting a mud bath. As you said big congrats to all the ground staff Now we’re in to spring the grass is growing again so it’s not just floating about on top of the base it’s bedding in again. I think it will probably have to be relayed in the summer but there’s a chance that the salt in the sand will have washed away enough that perhaps with a bit of work it’ll be ok and won’t have to be relayed.

Seems to do much better when he comes on than as a starter but loads of players are like that when they’re finding their feet , Ellis always was until this season for example.

Too little too late for me. I wouldn't offer him a new deal in the summer but that's not up to me.

What is this Spring thing you speak of? I have seen nothing of it so far. I was speaking to my lawn yesterday telling it to sort itself out, since it's nearly April, and it told me to f*ck off, and it will grow when the winter actually ends.

We looked a team struggling with missing players today but we still managed a win which is great....
Performance wasn’t enjoyable to watch, please will our coaching staff tell locks and Craig to stop pumping it over the likes of Bennett’s head when he’s so talented on the ball!!!!
I do agree we were lucky we played bury today as any top 10 team we would have lost but we didn’t and had a win with a bad penalty decision for us so we have to take that on to Fleetwood
Nichols isn’t our answer and unfortunately in a lull if his career but Telford needs more game time and sign him on for next season Mensah looked non league standard We missed sercombe/Leadbitter/brown in my opinion.. lines was non existent today and Ollie Clarke was awful Their 24 ran the midfield all game and looked their best player

I'm always amazed at some of the negativity around Rovers both on here & at the ground. Literally the 1st moan next to us came within 30 secs of kick off then I read through here and find myself wondering if I've watched a different game. Nichols has copped a load on here today but he actually had a decent game of course as a striker he'll be judged on goals & he's not delivered on that front but that doesn't mean he was poor today despite what some would like to believe Were you on the East Terrace by any chance? I moved at halftime as couldn't stand listening to the idiot next to me making snide, sarcastic comments every time TN touched the ball. On one occasion he even had to check with his mate which player had just miscontrolled a pass and as soon as it was confirmed to be TN off he went on another rant. We've all got our favourite players and preferred formations but are we not all supposed to be supporting BRFC? If you don't like a certain player just shut up and still support the team. Whether we like TN or not the club paid a lot of money for a talented young player and DC will persevere and continue to work with him. Until DC makes a decision to let him go we should back him. No I was in the Thatchers end but very similar story pretty much from kick off non stop running down of Nichols in paricular but also Mensah. I just don't see how anyone thinks it helps ok everyone has a moan at a misplaced pass or missed chance but it just seemed to me it was any excuse to have a pop at certain players.

I thought OC had a better game than of late, given that we hit the bar twice and Nichols & Harrison forced good saves out of the goalie somebody must have been putting in a shift in CM.

Too little too late for me. I wouldn't offer him a new deal in the summer but that's not up to me. Ellis has taken years to develop and he’s still improving I think he’ll be even better next season that’s what DC does so well , develop players makes them better than anyone else has been able to do. I’m pretty sure Moore hasn’t played higher than league 1 and was considered a poor player by fans at his league 1 club before but he’s put in some impressive performances from the bench this season and has shown that he’s a player in this squad who’s got a part to play. I haven’t written him off yet. At the end of the day we’re 6 points off the play offs to the championship with 8 games left so any player who’s played a part in that squad can be considered to be playing at a decent league 1 level. Some are better than others some have good runs of form bad runs of form but they’ve all played their part that’s the thing about DC he has and always has had a squad to work with and he uses them so well.

I’ll be controversial and say I didn’t think it was a pen when I saw it at the game and I don’t think it’s a pen after seeing it on the tv.
I guess that certainly levelled the poor decisions at Plymouth.

Watch the highlights. I agree their 24 was their best player he was very good.

Interesting how differently people see it. My view: Good Points
OC did well breaking things up in the midfield. BM held the ball up and looked a threat when able to turn & run KB - class SS - solid throughout EH - mr consistent this season, unlucky not to score DT - excellent cameo, the partner EH was crying out for. Must start Byron M - did everything right when he came on
Negatives
Back 4 - distribution very poor MB & JP - crossing in good positions was awful MB - so poor, backs off allowing wingers to run freely into the box (see highlights of their goal for one of many examples). Don’t see what DC sees in him to be honest TN - like playing with 10 men when he’s on the pitch

Not a fan of this initials business, fair play DC, he's earned it, but it makes it difficult to read. We have two SS and two BM and probably more duplicates if you stopped to work it out. How much longer does it take to type Moore or Bennett or Bola...? It's daft not to use complete words, IMO, UTG.

Or maybe, just maybe Byron has now managed to put his brothers death behind him and is starting to enjoy life and his football, can't think of anything worse than walking into a room and finding a loved one has taken their own life. If he has then fair play to the man, but he only seems to start showing any interest when his contract is up and is facing L2 footy at best, on a lower wage. Surprising how many players play better near the end of their contracts.. So when is Lines going to start to do that ?

Maybe I am a bit of a softie but I did feel for Bury when the ref gave us that pen.
Also been keeping on for ages about Telford deserving more chance. I really like the look of him and he would be far more productive than Nichols. Nichols did look like he had a bit more about him yesterday but ultimately he didn't produce.
I think we might win Monday at Fleetwood too. Whilst all the other teams struggle with juggling their team over easter weekend, we change ours all the time so I feel it affects us less.
The fact there are 2 places up for grabs gives you that very, very minor hope while it is still mathematically possible.
