Maybe I am a bit of a softie but I did feel for Bury when the ref gave us that pen. Also been keeping on for ages about Telford deserving more chance. I really like the look of him and he would be far more productive than Nichols. Nichols did look like he had a bit more about him yesterday but ultimately he didn't produce. I think we might win Monday at Fleetwood too. Whilst all the other teams struggle with juggling their team over easter weekend, we change ours all the time so I feel it affects us less. The fact there are 2 places up for grabs gives you that very, very minor hope while it is still mathematically possible. Yeah, Nichols was a bit better yesterday but the gulf between him and Telford looks huge. DC saying Nichols was excellent on the radio after the game is worrying. Telford looks far more aggressive, harder working and much more of a goal threat.

Oh well, almost 2 seasons and we are just starting to see glimpses. I saw glimpses from Gosling too and look where he is He played very well when he came on today. Was miles better than Mensah. Seems to do much better when he comes on than as a starter but loads of players are like that when they’re finding their feet , Ellis always was until this season for example. Agree he was better than Mensah but he wasn't great by any means. mensah is in the very early stages of his career with us and deserves time to develop. BM on the other hand has done little in two years and won't get a new contract IMO. Comparison with Ellis finding his feet probably unfair as Ellis was in his early 20's whereas BM is very experienced.

so we should v the bottom club, poor performance like the Northampton game I’m dreading Wigan,Blackburn & Charlton games we will get found out v them Play offs are about as likely as relegation it’s not happening, the few that get interviewed with Geoff after the game I don’t know what game they were watching Geoff even said a city fan said young Ollie has got a future in journalism, think he was being sarcastic What do you expect Barcelona style football week after week with players plucked out of the conference and players that suit our budget from other clubs ,we could lose too any side in this league but also beat any side. Take a rain check PP we’ve played some good football some bad and been indifferent but well placed for what DC’S budgets allowed him a good season overall imo I don’t think he’ll be with us next season I’m afraid then you’ll have something to moan about. The Wigan,Blackburn and Charlton games are a great challenge for the players and us fans will be looking forward to those games win lose or draw they will be up to it I’m sure. I've been disappointed with Bola full stop and with his Arsenal background and glowing reports from Notts Co fans expected a lot more quality, especially going forward. He's also slow to track back on occasions. Parts wasn't at his best today but views on his performance are probably influenced by his crossing which may in part be blamed on the poor pitch? Even so I'd bracket him as a 'defensive' fullback rather than the modern attacking fullback like a Leadbitter for example so prefer to judge him on his defensive work which is his main priority. Always gives 100% and despite clearly struggling with his crossing yesterday he never hid and kept getting forward as much as possible.

We looked a team struggling with missing players today but we still managed a win which is great.... Performance wasn’t enjoyable to watch, please will our coaching staff tell locks and Craig to stop pumping it over the likes of Bennett’s head when he’s so talented on the ball!!!! I do agree we were lucky we played bury today as any top 10 team we would have lost but we didn’t and had a win with a bad penalty decision for us so we have to take that on to Fleetwood Nichols isn’t our answer and unfortunately in a lull if his career but Telford needs more game time and sign him on for next season Mensah looked non league standard We missed sercombe/Leadbitter/brown in my opinion.. lines was non existent today and Ollie Clarke was awful Their 24 ran the midfield all game and looked their best player Apart from his back healed pass which led to the pen which he promptly scored to give us the win! I thought OC had a better game than of late, given that we hit the bar twice and Nichols & Harrison forced good saves out of the goalie somebody must have been putting in a shift in CM. some seem desperate for TN to make a mistake when he gets on the ball so they can just have another rant. One dickhead on the East Terr even shouted 'non league rubbish' at Mensah - would be nice to give him some support early in his Gas career rather than groom him as the next scapegoat!!

Just a heads up, there are two BM's that are wingers I think Mensah looks very green and will need to play a fair few more games yet until he feels he belongs at this level. You can see a clear difference between the likes of him and then Kyle Bennett who is a far more experienced player. Having said that, I have seen enough from some of his very good close control and through balls to think that he will come good. It will take time but I'll stick my neck out and say he'll end up doing very well for us.

Well we always concede and we usually make hard work of it against teams we are supposed to put away easily,so i am going for a hard fought 2- 1 win. Harrison & Sercombe with the goals. I know what you mean but they have to come at us today as a point is no good for them, so we can just pick them off if we need to. Fair play Russ, spot on with the score prediction. Thankgod the game was on a Friday and not a Saturday

We created loads of chances today and on another day could have had 5. We hit the woodwork 3 times and had one off the line plus Nichols poor header in the first half. Plus a few good save from their keeper. so we should v the bottom club, poor performance like the Northampton game I’m dreading Wigan,Blackburn & Charlton games we will get found out v them Play offs are about as likely as relegation it’s not happening, the few that get interviewed with Geoff after the game I don’t know what game they were watching Geoff even said a city fan said young Ollie has got a future in journalism, think he was being sarcastic Ah the good old Rovers arrogance that we've got a divine right to beat a team because they're bottom or because they haven't brought many fans. That attitude sent us to the Conference.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that Bristol Rovers FC having reached my target of 54 points are now officially safe from relegation. COYB, UTG, FTS (f**k the Sh1!heads).

Now we’re in to spring the grass is growing again so it’s not just floating about on top of the base it’s bedding in again. I think it will probably have to be relayed in the summer but there’s a chance that the salt in the sand will have washed away enough that perhaps with a bit of work it’ll be ok and won’t have to be relayed. What is this Spring thing you speak of? I have seen nothing of it so far. I was speaking to my lawn yesterday telling it to sort itself out, since it's nearly April, and it told me to f*ck off, and it will grow when the winter actually ends. I laughed out loud when I read this, I think because it is me as well.... although I did ask my lawn to hold back a while, just long enough so that I don’t have to risk electrocution by taking my lawnmower in to a swimming pool.

Not sure about that - more worrying that people still take everything DC says to the media at face value! Realistically he probably think Nichols played OK yesterday and is just publically backing a player whose confidence is shot.

I thought Mensah was a left winger/striker as most of the goals he scored for Aldershot seemed to come from when he cut in from the left, yesterday just before he was subbed he almost did something similar? Not sure why didn't DC swap BM & KB around to see if that worked better yesterday, although BM looks a big unit for a winger, he almost Harrison's height/build! As far as Nichols, just his luck DC subbed on Moore as he left the pitch, as it would have been interesting to see if Moore could unlock Bury's defence more than Mensah was doing. With regards to fans saying release Moore, not sure that worked out well last season when DC released Monty. Personally I'd offer him a 6 months contract, unless DC has found another KB for the right wing.

Monty earning rave reviews as a left back.Played his best game yesterday according to local Radio.Often interviewed on Radio Stoke for some reason.Vale and Crewe up here, safe now it seems but Stoke struggling.Just think we could be playing at Stoke next season if we win the play offs!!!!! We could loan them Sweeney and Telford! Off to watch a N.W Counties league game to-day.Eccleshall v Alsager.

I thought we were very poor in the 1st half and played with no tempo or urgency. We were better 2nd half and just about deserved to win imo. Bennett was easily the best player on the pitch and i thought the ref got the penalty decision correct. Sadly i think tom nichols and ollie clarke have been poor all season and really shouldnt be starting games. well done to all the posters screaming out for telford to get a chance because he scored a great goal and looked a threat throughout the time he was on the pitch.

As for Moore, I don't even think it's up for debate if we should keep him or not. He has to go for me as surely we can find better.
