I don't see Brexit as way the UK competes on any "new" level. More of a retreat, a push back, from the constraints that have been placed upon free market Capitalism. The shadow of Friedrich Hayek looms large, whose disciples were Reagan and Thatcher. This is why leavers hate Treaties like the one with the EU, rules based constraints are an anathema to them. Their great success has been to convince the general population that those rules constrained them, as individuals, when in fact they did no such thing. In America this manifests itself in the Trump phenomenon, a situation where people actually believe the State acts against them. As for you comment about shareholding, I struggle to believe that, but happy to be proven wrong. I expect you're quite excited that Britain, free of EU constraints, has authorised the new Covid vaccination and will start rolling it out almost immediately. It seems that our EU cousins, hamstrung by their various protocols, probably won't be able to do anything until at least January. I expect you're also quite cheered that the first people here to receive the vaccine will be health workers and the elderly and vulnerable. I have no doubt that you have been enormously cheered that, freed from EU regs, GB will almost immediately ban the export of live animals to the continent and elsewhere and also limit their time in transit across the UK. That's if you have any concern for animal welfare, of course. There you go Stuart, there's 2 EU laws I didn't like, and which will now be dispensed with. Cheer up chaps, 28 days until Freedom Day! You do understand that being in or out the EU has absolutely nothing to do with medicines approval?

Anyone else bored with this semi literate man child? Did he say something ? Yes, something that Gassy, 365 et al seem incapable of answering. 365 seems to have taken a sabbatical, whilst Gassy has resorted to bullshit, bluster and bluff rather than present the evidence that will apparently vindicate the monk-like 365's accusations. Most likely because it doesn't exist, and if by chance it did, what chance do you think those 2 great detectives would have of finding it? Holmes and Lestrade? more like Cleuseau and Deputy Dawg!

Not according to an article in today's Daily Telagraph, but I expect you know better than a professional journalist who would have checked, and had his story checked for accuracy before it was published. But I forget, in my fervent bubble of narrow-minded little Englader mindset, that the EU is nothing more than a benevolent organisation that assists everything we want to do and hands us untold billions every year without any question or requirement to justify.

I will give you that. But you cannot state an opinion as if fact, then proceed to label an alternative opinion as "Marxist" (or whatever). But in reality, if we are discussing economics and/or political policy outcomes and if we just wander around the topic without any anchor to fact we end up in a wormhole of ridiculous position taking. Which triangulates nicely back to Oldgas because that describes him perfectly. As it does those that have run off into the sunset crying to their mother's about the unfairness of it. Almost impossible to engage with them, very odd. Oldie. Back on the thread, relatively. Did you know that 90% of the companies listed on the New York stock exchange are owned by just 3 companies? (Capitalism back to feudalism) You are quite in to finance and stuff. Do you see brexit being a vehicle for the UK to compete on this new level of capitalism? Well, as Oldie has told us on numerous occasions about his pan world business interests he must be associated with one of these mega companies that dominate the NY stock exchange. We really are blessed that he finds the time away from running the world to post on here.

The Walker Brothers. why would not quoting you make it easy for me? Oops, I've just done it again. Will the heavens fall in on me. Oldgas , what are you hoping for from this deal or are you a pure brexiteer and you don’t want a deal ? I would like for us to have frictionless trade and a sensible compromise on fishing, one which recognises our sovereignty and our right to allocate fishing quotas. I would also like the EU to recognise us as a Sovereign nation, and to not demand we follow their rules on state aid, level playing fields etc. They don't demand this of any other nation they have trade agreements with, they have to recognise we are a free country. I would also like us to be free from the ECHR so we can introduce our own bill of rights and tailor it to make it possible to deport people we don't want without those ambulance chasing vampires constantly thwarting the Home Sc every time he or she tries to deport some piece of murdering scum. I also feel it's ridiculous that we will allow EU nationals to stay here 6 months without a visa while the reciprocation is only 90 days. I've no doubt that our National Health will be free to their people while Brits will have to have health insurance. So even with a deal there will be inequalities, but if any deal is loaded too much in the EUs favour then we should leave and deny them any fishing rights etc and levy the same quotas as they do. Having had a referendum where the majority voted to leave we have to regain our independence, and if that means no deal, so be it. Things will sort themselves out and I'm sure a deal will be reached in time under those circumstances. There's no reason this country should allow itself to be dictated to by France and Germany in the main, which is what they want to do.

I absolutely love that you think I am some how responsible for your discussion with 365, it's rather hilarious seeing you get so wound up going round in circles confusing yourself yet again. Round and round and round and round and round again.

Best leave it while you've got a shred of respect and pride left. 28 days until you're finally free. There's no need to thank us.
