Wasn't Chris Spittles talking openly on Twitter about this to someone from Cardiff FC and they had as much as confirmed this? Chris tweeted Rhys' brother saying "I see your brother Rhys is off to Rovers" and then stated it was a loan when asked by someone whether it was a loan or permanent. That doesn't sound like the one DC was talking about then as it's not permanent. That sounds quite promising. Healey on loan sounds good to be honest but partly depends how good this permanent is.

Cole is available so we need to do what it takes to get him in the building.

There will be dozens, possibly even hundreds of deals in the PL and FL in the next week. Reading this forum anyone would BRFC are the only club wanting to bring anyone in.
Scunthorpe want to get 4 in next week, even Man U, prob the richest club in the world, want to get a couple in. No doubt there will be quite a few deals today.
I am staggered by some of the comments on GasChat, either there are a bunch of wind up merchants or a large number of supporters who have literally no idea how signing players actually works as opposed to how it is on Championship manager.
Don't forget we have already brought in 4 or 5 weeks ago, and Ellis only left last week for christ sake. Everyone was positive about our recruitment until a week or so ago.
Some people seem to live in a dreamworld.

Healey would be a good option but like you say, it all depends on who we get in with him. I don’t think our strike force, with Healey included, will give many defenders sleepless nights. We need a different option, someone who is going to bully defenders.

Some people seem to live in a dreamworld. We are down on 3 strikers from last season with our first game of the season just over 24 hours away. Couple this with a soft as sh** display in our final pre-season game, where we looked sloppy at the back and non-existent in attack and I think a lot of Gasheads are concerned for the new season. Yes, we have made some very good signings and areas of our squad look strong, but at the minute it’s like building a lovely house with a beautiful garden but forgetting to put a roof on it!

I think lowered expectations might be good for the team. As in we seem to do better when we’re punching above our weight

Surely with our well documented tight-fistedness we're not going to be looking at Cole? He's 6 months into a two and a half year contract with Wigan.

He hasn't played much this pre-season and was left out of their training camp and is apparently available, along with the highly talented winger Ryan Colclough. We might be able to get him for what they paid (£400k?), or even a loan, but wages could prove a stumbling block. Would be a cracking signing if possible.

I remember a few short years ago when we used to get all our business sorted early in the window. We had no trouble getting Garry Kenneth, Matt Gill, Craig Stanley, Adam Virgo all signed up before the end of July. For f**ks sake why can’t we go back to those days again?? Pull your finger out DC!! A great post. We have only two strikers, not had the greatest pre-season and we’re away to a team that beats us regularly yet we can still laugh at the way we do things. Brilliant, nottsgas, hope we’re still laughing at 5.00 tomorrow!😀 UTG,

I reckon it will be Healey announced today. But surely Cardiff are not going to let us sign him on a permanent. The signing today from what I gather is to be permanent so surely would rule Healey out.

It will be Healey I think. At any other point, I’d be really intrigued and excited by that, but in our current situation we are crying out for someone with a little more pedigree at this level.
