I do worry sometimes. On places like Sky News we constantly have reports on the 'rise of the Right across Europe', yet for me, the 'rise of the Left' in the UK is equally as frightening. Why do the Communists get an easy ride from the press. They really are dangerous. In the meantime, the Conference is Comedy Gold...... What in the name of everything Holy.............

Labour's flagship policy of re-nationalisation.........first off, it is wrong in so many ways, but the thing that they have missed, is that it is illegal within the EU. They can only do it if the UK is a totally independent country.

Ever watch "Newsnight", Nobby? If Oldie was editor of the programme, they could scarcely come up with a more biased load of anti- western nonsense.

Lefties everywhere, under the bed, in the kitchen, in the imagination.
Meanwhile...from Germany
"In an unusually strong intervention into domestic politics, the BDI's Kempf warned that the German economy could be hurt by a wave of nationalism, after violent protests in the eastern city of Chemnitz that followed a stabbing blamed on migrants.
"An allegedly homeland-loving nationalism that declares everything foreign an enemy is wrong," he said. "It poses a threat to the business model of our industry which is based on openness - and it's jeopardizing prosperity and employment"
There you go.

I gave many reasons as to what has happened in Chemnitz. Read more articles (they're probably in German) and you'll find the same bloke is highly critical of the government.

Anyway, this thread is about Labour and their Conference. I think you are just trying the ole deflection tactic.
Do you think the Labour policy on Nationalisation is a good one? If so, why? Do you think the Labour policy on company shares is a good one? If so, why? Are you clear on the Labour Brexit position?

Nobby The quote from the German Business Leader was about the decent into right wing nationalism and xenophobia which plays to your thread topic. And the responses.

But we're talking about the rise of the extremist far-left, which has hi-jacked the Labour Party. We've discussed the right-wing stuff on another thread. So, do you think that the current Communist Labour Party, with their policies, will be able to do what no other Labour government ever has done? That is increase employment, decrease debt, raise living levels, improve the economy? Can they do this?

Franchising and operators relationship with infrastructure investment needs to be rethought though 2. Share schemes...blah. Ignorant comments by the Labour party. Any half decent employer has profit and performance related bonus schemes. I would like that to be tax incentivised by having a lower tax band on approved schemes. 3. Brexit. You know my views, so the leadership in Labour water me off. But Starmer delivered a good speech today

I enjoy the Labour party conference because they show the country how out of touch and unelectable they are every year.

That picture is quite ironic. The remainer in charge of leaving and the ardent anti EU’er backing a re vote to remain. The many faces of Jeremy Corbyn.

I enjoy the Labour party conference because they show the country how out of touch and unelectable they are every year. Unfortunately that also applies to the Tories, who, apart from two years from 2015 to 2017, with a slim majority of 12 seats, haven't had a significant election win since 1992. 26 years ago. The population do not like or trust either party any more. I cannot predict anything any more. It's all up in the air. All the old loyalties are gone.
