Striker A is lightening quick but doesn't like a battle; Striker B is slow but will get stuck in for the cause. Striker A scores one week against a slow defence but the following week the opposition are renowned for their uncompromising, physical style. Surely it makes sense to adopt a different approach and play Striker B instead? Takes me back to my O levels. If it takes striker A, 3 minutes to empty a bath, how long will it take striker B to dig to Australia?
If striker B digs all the way to Australia then how long does it take to pull Usain Bolt up on a rope ?

Personally, I’d like to see 4-5-1 continue.
I don’t see it as negative, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea all play it whilst managing to play attractive football.
I just want us to play attackers in these positions.
So:
Bonham Parts-Locks-Craig-Martin Matthews-Clarke-Upson-Sercs-Benno Jak

My choice for Sat would be,
Bonham J.Clarke, Lockyer, Craig and Martin Matthews, Lines, Upson and Rodman Jakubiak and Nichols

Martin played well in the last home league game. I'd give him the edge over Kelly in our current situation. He has more experience and Kelly has potential be be taken apart if up against a good winger - Kelly is clearly better going forward though. Hopefully in the longer term tariq Steffan-Dennis will be the answer at left back.

Obviously cost plenty. But it’s a myth that 4-5-1 is negative.

Think there’s little to choose between Kelly and Martin. Which is praise to Kelly given he’s a youngster starting out. I’d say that Martin shades it defensively and given I’ve gone attacking elsewhere I’d play Martin.

If we play 4-5-1 with Bennet or Rodman on the left and Mathews on the right and no attacking fullbacks we’ll have every player in the middle and won’t get any football going. Again.

Martin left his man completely unmarked v Walsall, got sent off v Shrewsbury and headed the ball straight to the goalscorer v Luton, are you sure he's better defensively than Kelly? Regardless we need some width down our wings which the wingers seem incable if giving us.

gk bonham rb leadbitter lb j clarke cb lockyer cb craig rm sinclair cm upson cm sercombe lm bennett str payne str jakubiak
Thats the best compromise team selection imo, though it would be similar if it were lines instead of upson. I also have an amateur theory that payne and dc have fallen out so i doubt he will be selected.

He just offered nothing at all going forward, but couldn’t do his harassing in defence effectively either.

4 pages of team selections, I don’t see the point really as it’s probably easier to pick tonight’s lottery numbers! Praying for a win today though and those precious 3 points, COYB!

If our frontline are still not scoring come January, DC May have to tell Stewy to kit up. And we could get Jamie Cureton back as well. 😂😂😂

I agree its not great having sinclair out wide but it does work better when leadbitter is at full back imo.
