It would be suicide for Wasps not to do business with SISU though. Its a white elephant of a stadium without Coventry City and a huge loss of revenue for the stadium company. If Coventry got back to the championship they would easily get 20k + gates. I think their average is 12k this year but recently had 25k+ for a game with Gillingham. Unfortunately that club has been mismanaged for years. Wasps want to do business with SISU, they just don't want to be being sued by SISU while negotiating with them. It seems like a reasonable pre-condition for talks, to me. Especially as SISU are serial litigators.

The EFL have stated that they must remain within Coventry. That only leaves them with two unrealistic/nonviable options in Butts Park and Brandon Stadium - plus they've said they want to remain at the Ricoh and aren't considering other options.
Sad the mess they've ended up in. Think we all need to look at this as a case-and-point example of a new stadium "at any cost" isn't a good way to approach our future.

The in tray for the EFL must be starting to bulge! Blackpool, replacement for Harvey, now Coventry. But I bet the Coventry ground will be sorted before the deadline. UTG!

IS there actually an EFL reasoning for that? The only source for it is something the Cov City chief exec said so it's hard to know. I guess they thought the whole Sixfields fiasco made them look bad. I don't think Butts Park would meet league requirements. Brandon Stadium would be incredible but it's never been a football stadium before and is pretty dilapidated right now. I don't think it could be brought and redeveloped in time for next season. I wonder if the EFL would allow them to play at Nuneaton Borough's Liberty Way? It'd be a big step down but Nuneaton are on their arses too. Be a bit similar to us moving to Twerton.

The ground is owned by the owner of Port Vale whom happens to be a Coventry fan but says it isn't happening

Puts things into perspective at times. At least the Mem is ours Yeah, a lot of people doubting that moving into a stadium we don't own might not be in the club's interests. Interestingly Coventry were owners of Highfield road and moved into the Ricoh as tennents.... They sold Highfield for housing.... It's a great example of a complete balls up....

I have mixed feelings on this. I wouldn’t want them to be kicked out as it’s horrible for the fans and they don’t deserve it. It’s not nice seeing that happen to any club.
On the other hand, I would like them to be kicked out as it would really f**k the owners over because the club would be worth nothing with no assets to buy, it would just be reformed under new ownership (aka Wimbledon).

Especially seen as Coventry have been pushed for a decision now, it’s given Wasps even more leverage in the negotiations.

As an outsider I qsuppose their best option would be to play their homes at Sixfields, they have done this before, whilst the legal action is completed. I suspect Coventry fans would like to see the back of what appear to be pernicious owners. You have to feel for them even though they have an overblown arrogance because they won the FA cup years ago.and about 40 unbroken years of top flight football.

Where did Wasps get the money to buy the Ricoh, when it was seemingly beyond the resources of a club as big as Coventry City were then, flush with cash after selling Highfield Road? I had no idea rugby clubs were so rich.

Still no update - Coventry have until 5pm today to inform the EFL, otherwise they'll be kicked out of the EFl at the end of the season.

Got to feel for them! They’ve been dragged through lots of rubbish since I started watching football when they were then in the prem! Fingers genuinely crossed for them!
