Someone help me out here - can we expect the new Tory leader candidates to become harder or softer on Brexit? Harder seems the natural conclusion but just looking at Gove and Hunts comments recently, is it actually more likely to be softer as no deal backer would force a no confidence vote that they would likely lose?

The rule of thumb I go by is don't believe that what a career politician says is what they will do in office. It is a Mexican Standoff, Parliament will likely collapse under a vote of no confidence and then a GE. The question is timing and what happens then.

Hunt says that he may have to delay Brexit again to avoid a No Deal exit - That's him finished. Rabb - Today produced a video where he talks about a 'fairer Britain' - Don't these people realise that useless platitudes like that turn people away. Of course nobody wants an unfair society, but his words mean nothing. He's already finished.
So far, and hold your breath, but the only potential Tory leader who has spoken any sense is Esther McVey !

Newspapers suggesting Hunt losing support to Gove.
Bercow staying on apparently, who also confirms Parliament can prevent leaving on WTO terms.
So, new leader by end of July, no renegotiation and no 'no deal'. GE before the year is out?

His pledge yesterday to give citizenship to 3 million EU nationals was just wrong. They should stop trying to jump through hoops to appease the EU. Where is his concern for UK nationals living in the EU? It was just a pointless exercise. A GE? I hope so.

I'd be happy with the top two on that chart. Steve Baker for PM, with Pritti Patel as his No.2

So hypothetical.
If a new PM has us leave with No Deal. do they call a GE? No deal means they potentially lose the support of the DUP and the numbers in Parliment are narrow to get anything done as is
What happens if they called a GE and lose? how long does that leader last? Do they risk that

Do they risk that The DUP will accept No Deal. Both the Tories and Labour are currently terrified of a GE soon. The only hope they both have is time, but the longer they both carry on with their current policies, the more support drains away from them. They both need a radical re-think.

One for South Stand Ultra who thought I was making this up. But Johnson is now in the dock. Boris Johnson must go on trial for 'lying and misleading' in Brexit campaign, judge orders flip.it/mBFjSF

Regardless of the outcome, the sight of Johnson being interrogated by a QC will be absolutely delicious.

It would be great to have Johnson televised facing a determined and skilled QC.

Wow, just wow. A Tory saying it like it is. His reference to the ERG and Patrick Minford is spot on. Points denied by the pro leave camp on here.
