O dear, that is worse team performance in many a year: not sure where he is going to go with that team, GC playing like that will be gone by the end of September.

Just Back Home.
Hard to watch. Attack is fine for league one. Defence is fine for league one but the midfield is I think the worst functioning unit I have ever seen in Rovers colours.
It is not an exaggeration to say that it is fundamentally wrong. This has to go down to the Manager and what he is asking them to do.
What happens before the transfer window closes will define the season. Do nothing and we will be relegated. The right Two experienced midfielders and a change of shape and we could be in the top six at the end of the season.

Our midfield had plenty of experience today.. And as for the right 2. I'm pretty sure no managers goes with the intention to sign the wrong 2.

Just got back and dusted myself down. Worst game since Wycombe, if something drastic doesn’t change wit either personnel on or off the pitch then we’re in trouble. Coventry are miles ahead of us
Don’t like to single players out for abuse but the following were absolute dog sh**e today
In order from dog sh**e to cat sh**e on today’s performance and not on past sentiment.
Agogo - agogone, Clarke - craptin Hare - going bald Leahy - leaving on a jet plane Bennett - Gordon
Never have I seen such a lightweight gutless midfield. Two sides shut felt like a preseason friendly think the players thought it was too.
Our fans were great throughout. Don’t deserve that.

UTG Completely agree regarding the midfield today but think you're being a bit harsh on the full backs. We are so narrow that they constantly get caught 2 v 1. Hare in particular looks like he has a lot of promise I think he'll turn out to be a good signing.

0 shots on target you couldn’t make it up. Coughlan - "I'll have to go and have a think if I'm being a bit too gung-ho away from home." Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

The players are good enough IMO. We have the personnel to play with width and to be able to adapt as a situation fits. Unfortunately, the manager is one dimensional in his approach. Can you explain how you think these players are good enough to play with width? We have no width in our squad!!!! Bennett is an over paid, over rated journeyman.Rodman, injury prone. Our two main full backs are along with JCH our two best players but will never be fit enough to play for more than a game or two before being on the sick bed again! Again we have no width!! And this is Cogs fault during the summer for not fixing. I agree with our managers mindset tho. This is what will cost him his job if he continutes this way of playing. But we dont have any players good going forward, simple. We could go 3-5-2 and get our width from Leahy/THD and Hare/Little. We could go 4-4-2 and get our width from Bennett and Rodman, with full backs overlapping. I agree we could ideally do with a winger, but I still think we can play with width using what we already have.

Well.. I liked our kit and and I saw a dragonfly fly across the pitch, thats a first.
1st half, oh my. 2nd half higher tempo. Our centre backs played well, but our full backs!. Again I go to an away match and there are a group of fans trying to get in a fight, inside the ground and then outside when I was waiting for a cov mate to drive back, the same morons getting moved on by the police. Im not comfortable with this element of our away support so thats my last away game, I really dont enjoy it.

I agree entirely, it seems Leahy is the new whipping boy even before the season has passed the first month. I’ve seen every game so far & cant see he has done too much wrong. Both himself and Hare (not just today but last week especially) are hideously exposed by the narrow midfield, no protection at all when regularly faced 2 on 1. It amazes me some fail to recognise this, almost.

He's a bit inexperienced maybe however he didn't do much wrong and put some lovely crosses into the box. I'll be at the Tranmere game so will have another chance to assess him then. I reckon that when Little and THD are back playing we will be a much better team. Some underestimate the importance of fullbacks but having THD and Little bombing up the wings will make life hard for the opposition and perhaps give more service to our strikers.

I have to admit this level of reason and level headedness is new for me on this forum. The only treat of the day.

Leahy does seem to come in for some pretty unfair criticism, I don't think he did too much wrong today and made one fantastic block which saved a goal after a poor Jaakola punch. Certainly he looks better going forward but how much of that is the lack of protection he gets.

By the sounds of it most of us are happy with that line-up? I thought we were poor 1st half with that starting line up. Bump

Just a day out out for the thugs today. Cheapest and easiest trip for the low life’s. Away crowds atmosphere the only thing good at our club these days.

Look it’s a poor start but I think we should breathe a bit before we sharpen any knives! Posters are saying he had all summer but we can’t afford to bring in players to replace Sercs, Clarke, Benno Rodman Nichols as they are under contract and who would want them? I forgot Upson. We will need patience this season as it’s a new squad and one that is no longer a core of our promotion ones. We are one of 10 teams who will fight to avoid the drop. I for one will be backing him to get it right. And we have played three of the top four, including two away games. It doesn't look good at the moment but no need to panic just yet.

Was held back in the car park whilst the police dealt with them. Left me feeling embarrassed to be associated with them. I suppose every club has them, even us.

You could congratulate those who have traveled, it’s School holidays, money is tight for lots of people and football is about to die as we all know it. The Premiership and VAR will see to that. Well said. August is a weird time. Can be expensive and busy for many, especially parents. Others on hols etc. Loads of games in a short time. Maybe just paid for your ST.
