Just got back and dusted myself down. Worst game since Wycombe, if something drastic doesn’t change wit either personnel on or off the pitch then we’re in trouble. Coventry are miles ahead of us Don’t like to single players out for abuse but the following were absolute dog sh**e today In order from dog sh**e to cat sh**e on today’s performance and not on past sentiment. Agogo - agogone, Clarke - craptin Hare - going bald Leahy - leaving on a jet plane Bennett - Gordon Never have I seen such a lightweight gutless midfield. Two sides shut felt like a preseason friendly think the players thought it was too. Our fans were great throughout. Don’t deserve that. UTG Completely agree regarding the midfield today but think you're being a bit harsh on the full backs. We are so narrow that they constantly get caught 2 v 1. Hare in particular looks like he has a lot of promise I think he'll turn out to be a good signing. Yeah perhaps you’re right. Don’t think the full backs are bad players just didn’t do so well today compared to Wycombe. Which was down to the lazy inept midfield not offering enough protection or GC not telling the midfield to go in the right places. Surely with a diamond when defending the two wider ones should fall back and support the full backs and the anchor should protect the centre backs. That didn’t happen. Either way we were sh**e. The best thing Bennett did was boot their player on the floor. Was lucky not to get sent off. Sinclair is better than Agogo. We go again. Next game Van dyke Craig Davies Kilgour Leahy New signing New signing Sercombe New signing JCH Big Deon

You could congratulate those who have traveled, it’s School holidays, money is tight for lots of people and football is about to die as we all know it. The Premiership and VAR will see to that. Barely 7k for our first home game of the season. Our crowds are going down full stop. My point was that this notion that Gasheads are so loyal and "Faithful and True" is absolute nonsense. Harsh. There are lots of reasons fans don't renew STs / don't go as often. Not fair to suggest a lack of loyalty. Takes a year or so to build up a reputation / positivity but also a while to lose it. We've been losing it for well over a year now, so crowds going down for many reasons, including the dull football and general lack of progression on and off the pitch.

And we have played three of the top four, including two away games. It doesn't look good at the moment but no need to panic just yet. They are at the top because they have played us! We are a 3 point banker! Well they must have beaten other teams also as they didnt get all of their 7 or 9 points off us.

I agree entirely, it seems Leahy is the new whipping boy even before the season has passed the first month. I’ve seen every game so far & cant see he has done too much wrong. Both himself and Hare (not just today but last week especially) are hideously exposed by the narrow midfield, no protection at all when regularly faced 2 on 1. It amazes me some fail to recognise this, almost. Leahy does seem to come in for some pretty unfair criticism, I don't think he did too much wrong today and made one fantastic block which saved a goal after a poor Jaakola punch. Certainly he looks better going forward but how much of that is the lack of protection he gets. Thought Sercs put in a decent shift covering the left side, it was OC who had a shocker on the left, but didn't JCH cost us the first goal by bringing the ball back into our half rather than just putting into the stand.

I think it's a fair point actually. Loyalty is just that, sticking with it through thick and thin. Appears that there are plenty who don't tick that box sadly.

True but at this stage of the season 3 points makes a bigger splash than it does in October. Especially for those who are on 7, just under half their points have come from us. Edit: d’oh- except Wycombe, obviously. We’re a small portion of their points.

For the last two seasons the football isn’t the reason I go. I enjoy the beers, spending time with my kids and mates. Most of the game I’m checking my cash outs and people watching. Hopefully it improves but I will keep going. Cuz I’m loyal to my mates and the kids. My ST money doesn’t ever seem to get spent on anything good except keeping the club afloat and for some back room staff. Perhaps they should play.

Catalogue of errors really, missed header by Leahy to start with, far to easy to get down the side of our defence then never dealt with the ball into the box. Apart from that textbook defending !!!

Here is the interview if anyone hasn't seen it. Got to say GC doesn't exactly do himself justice. thought it was a decent and honest assessment. here's to a better performance on Tues and 3pts !

The problem with the interview were the comments about being too "open" and "expansive". As if we were picked off on the break after waves of attack on the coventry goal with shots raining in from everywhere. But listening on the radio and reading stuff from people at the game that was not the case. Coughlan was in trouble when told we didnt have a shot on target,it clearly rattled him. Good news for upson though as he will be back in for bennett and maybe nichols will give us more defensive cover than tyler smith?

Wasn’t at the game today as I had a wedding but was getting regular updates from friends at the game.
Not one positive and apparently the away fans singing for GC out already? Bit early for that I think.
That said, he needs to give up on this 433 and play some basic football with some wingers and give us half a chance.
I can’t honestly think how 433 is a gung ho set up. If you don’t have whippet like full backs and high pressing midfielders playing pass and move 433 is a very negative way to play. And how often do you see that pass and move being played in L1? It’s all about playing the channels and getting service into the box.
GC needs to learn a lesson and quick and get it done before Tuesday night. Massive game IMO for both him and the club.

Sorry, it was a car crash of an interview. He should have just came out and said he was disappointed with the performance and they let the large travelling contingent down. Anything else should have been said behind closed doors. Agreed, we need 3 points on Tuesday.

So upson for bennett and nichols for smith on tuesday? What a depressing choice. If I didn`t have to go to work, I`d finish off the cider that got left last night.

Once again Ollie was absolutely dreadful. Never should have been give captain. It think he’d be better no captain and focusing on himself rather than motivating the team. Although I’ve not seen him encourage or even talk to his teammates on the pitch enough. Is Ollie GCs son??? Why is he selected when he is so inconsistent, I know he is fairly popular on this forum but not for me.

But you are right, OC has been awful, he wasnt brilliant last season. Wael or whoever's pulls the strings must allow us to bring in midfielders, the way we are playing we are going to struggle all season. No threat on the wings, making us predictable. Perhaps GC doesn't know anything but setting up a defensive team.

To say they were too gung-ho after that display was asking for trouble, even if he didn’t mean it in that way. We haven’t managed a goal in three league matches and only a handful of shots on target. Thankfully we have two home games coming up which is the perfect opportunity to turn it around.

Said it a longtime ago on here but while we have the likes of OC in our team we will not be going any higher and more likely will go the other way. Having said that nobody else in our midfield is any better and recent results more than confirm this. If there's a worse group of midfielders in any other side in this division I would be very surprised.
