We weren’t awful on Tuesday but neither were we brilliant either, that’s what I’ll say. Good in the first half, then thrown off a bit by the sendings off in the second, deserved to win the game though.
Oxford will be a better side than Tranmere, so Saturday will be a tough game. Both Little and Sercombe are close to returning to fitness apparently, so I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.

We were awful Tuesday night? Seriously?
Some people.
We were slow, lethargic and completely lacked any creativity against nine men for almost the entire second half. For a while we were being pinned back by the nine men and we were very fortunate that their no.6 missed that sitter. 1 nil up against 11, keeper didn't have to make a save all game, dominated midfield, great goal by JCH, penalty earnt and put away by Smith.
But, if that's what you call awful, up to you.

Players given their marching orders, change football matches. This is just fact. Sometimes the man advantage will tell and the score will go on to be a rout. Other times there’s a shuffle in the pack and the superior numbers have to adjust to a new set up (having been comfortable for the last hour) and an inevitable 10mins of stormy waters will come. You don’t have to have played the game at a decent level to know this. The game was won, for all our recent problems on the pitch, that is what matters. Nothing else. Bring on Oxford.

2-1 win, JCH x2, MT 1. MT to come off the pitch at 80 mins after a stare down with JCH spooks him

Bring on Oxford. yes, and it's funny how we are (quite rightly) remembering Junior Agogo and BRFC on another thread for THAT comeback with 9 men, whilst on this thread people are saying 9 men should always be trampled over. BTW- we also survived relegation last season by battering out narrow wins, often away from home. 3 points is 3 points. Add enough of them together and you get to mid-table.

What?? If we play like we did on Tuesday, against NINE MEN, then we will lose. Oxford are a good side, and we were awful on Tuesday. Tbf, its difficult to break down depleted teams.... We took the lead against 11 men so take some comfort from it.... If it's so difficult to score against 10 men, I'm surprised GC hasn't tried one less outfield player. Perhaps he will on Saturday to stop Snakey.

Bear in mind that Tranmere caved in & gave up! (Actually I thought they played out of their skins, to give them their due. Never gave up until the penalty. Give them some credit.)

If we get a point tomorrow I’ll be pleased. We are still finding our style and if we can do that while grinding out points then great. MT will score though.

From GC's interview this morning - Rodman and Little will at least make the bench, but Sercs is out for a few more weeks.

Optimally we win 3-0 with a JCH hat-trick, snake gets subbed at half-time and Junior gets the huge ovation he deserves. At least one of these will happen, hopefully all three!

With Taylor’s return to the Mem , just made me think, what a huge turn over of players we have had in 2 1/2 years, is it only Ollie That would of played with him here ? Maybe Alfie ? No wonder we continue to look so disjointed.
