With Taylor’s return to the Mem , just made me think, what a huge turn over of players we have had in 2 1/2 years, is it only Ollie That would of played with him here ? Maybe Alfie ? No wonder we continue to look so disjointed. You're quite right but there is an inevitability about that when a team goes up two divisions in two seasons. A lot of those players either aren't good enough (as they were signed as conference players) or have proven their worth and get sold to better clubs (Taylor Harrison Bodin Brown Lockyer). Also the change of manager generally brings in a whole host of new faces as he builds his own team. |

hard one to call, Oxford an ok side with good record at the Mem, will we 'turn up' and be up for it from the off like we need to be? the good thing is the Taylor factor is purely a fan thing and should not affect our current squad as 95% don't have any history with him, hope the fans treat Taylor with indifference until game is well won else you know what will happen! leave the stick till the end or when we are 3-0 up! I am hoping for 3 points but may have to be content with 1 !

I've been impressed with Oxford's summer recruitment, asides from Taylor, George Thorne and Ben Woodburn are talented players and I think Oxford will be a top 10 team this year. That said though, play like we did in the first half against Tranmere and I think we are more than capable of getting a result. JCH starting to return to full fitness is a big boost for us and I have been massively impressed with Kilgour who looks like he has been playing at this level for years, the next exciting thing to come out of our youth academy. In a week that we lost one of greats in Junior I hope it puts things in perspective how short life is and none of our idiots do anything stupid to him. But with that said,he did the real dirty on us and I hope for 90mins he gets the most sh** anyone has ever had at the mem. Problem is the fool will no doubt score in front of the Blackthrone and Shhhh the crowd and it will kick out nutters off. |
