you’re being extremely pedantic towards me and I also think you need to take that chip off your shoulder. I don’t need to explain my self to you or anyone else. You are also making assumptions based on my recent light hearted comments , which are in no way homophobic or offensive. For some reason you do tend to enjoy picking my posts out, do you have an issue with me personally? I’m not victimising you at all cupcake. You are one in a small minority on here, that I have seen post, that basks in the halcyon days of the 70s where you could say what you think and the rest of must laugh otherwise it’s just PC gone mad. Except you now have an audience of 1 on here who is openly in a minority group, who has experienced homophobia and does find it all a little bit uncomfortable. So I’m asking you, should she just suck it up and put up with it or could you change to make her feel like she might not be at the butt of one of your pc gone mad comments? What do you think would be more decent? What a childish post! You are a mod? no wonder the forum is like it is. Perhaps a bit more deeper thought about the subject before you write please?

I am a Lesbian who has been subjected to homophobia in the past which I found extremely distressing. I have been watching the Gas since 1966. I acknowledge that by going to football I am likely to hear chants on a variety of matters that I could find amusing, emotive, boring or downright uncomfortable. There is a fine line between acceptable and unacceptable. I am glad to know that we have, mainly, moved on from the racist chants, except the one where the IRA is mentioned. I am also pleased that the different type of abuse the female officials got has diminished. I think the chant about a certain someone and death totally unacceptable. Homophobic abuse is, for me, hard to take. But some banter is amusing. Again fine lines. Ok explain how the no surrender chant is racist, as not in a million years could that be deemed racist

Might as well sing about Brian Connolly or the Krypton Factor.

Yeah, you’re right. Has absolutely loads to do with League 1 football. Maybe we should sing about the UVF, ETA, Al Qaeda, The CNLA, Meibion Glyndŵr, oh who else? Surely we hate every terrorist organisation? I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, it has f**k all to do with football.

Embarrassing, especially as Bristol itself has a large LGBT+ community. This kind of thing should be stamped out of football, it is every bit as bad as racist abuse in my mind. and do you feel the same way about the disgusting chanting against Matty Taylor on Saturday or is that just part of football ? he crossed a line that no player should

So a disabled jew walks into a bar and trys to catch the black bartenders gaze. When a lesbian, Muslim suicide bomber, whose grandfather lost all his documentation on the Windrush...
It was funnier in the pub.

Sectarianism and racism can be argued that they run along the same parallel lines.

I do struggle sometimes with the 'no excuse for abuse' line. Some people really do deserve to be verbally abused.

All Kick it Out and LGBT do is to seperate themselves from the rest of us making them targets. Meanwhile two footballers, who make decisions about their career receive unbelievable abuse from thousands and those that protect favoured groups are strangely silent. Abuse must be stopped for all, not just the few or allowed to happen to everyone.

So, unless we can stop stuff like 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' and 'you don't know what you're doing' we should allow the worst kind of racist abuse? Not sure you've thought that through.
