Alex Rodman man of the match. That’s gotta be a water take right? Nichols getting the blame again. He was f**king sh** but most of the team were tonight. The only players for me to have any credit were Abu Ogogo who got substituted(??) and Victor Adeboyejo. Particular note for Ollie Clarke and Alex Rodman for a 1/10 performance. And Kyle Bennett who I was begging for and unfortunately didn’t disappoint at disappointing us. Ultimately the poorest performance tonight was Graham Coughlan for failing to get us rethinking our tactics of lumping the ball at Rodman every time we had it. Despite the ginormous Bolton defence confusing basketball for defensive football Fair play to Bolton and well done for getting their first win in a long time. At least they enjoyed it! Agree with all of that except you forgot our keeper. He was our best player tonight I thought it could have been 4 or 5

How can we change things up for a better performance on Saturday then? I guess Leahy and Smith in for Kelly and Nichols. Maybe give Little a start if he's fit enough. Would Hargreaves give a better balance to the midfield?

Awful performance, but seeing grown men boo and heckle our own players is embarrassing. Please stay away if you can't take losing a game of football.

Don't know if this has already been addressed but does anyone know why Leahy was dropped? Injured or just a change by GC? Didn't really see too much to warrant it recently if it's the latter.

Would Hargreaves give a better balance to the midfield? Can he be any worse than ollie clarke ? Give the guy a chance i say, at least until sercombe is fit.

Bolton the best side I’ve seen down the Mem this season. Strong , quick , technique good , organised , hard working , great movement off the ball. The reason they’re bottom of the league isn’t the team we played tonight by any stretch. If we’d had sercombe , hare, JCH fit and played to our best we might have got a point tonight but with injuries to important players and others not playing well , olly Clarke and Nichols the worst I’ve ever seen them play , it was clear from about the 5th minute we weren’t going to get anything from tonight . Our keeper kept us in it first half but we never looked like scoring apart from one free kick. Bolton have got their work cut out to stay up, but tonight they looked every part a promotion chasing side which is the form they’ll need to stay up.

You must be on a windup scored 3 goals all season they prob won’t win another game til we visit the macron. Most teams with anything about them would have killed the game off with those 2 Nichols chances inside 5 mins

Look we battle hard and lump it up top to our big striker. What could possibly go wrong?
Murphy was superb for them tonight, real class act.

He didn’t seem to be shattered like you’d expect a player who’s not match fit he was just poor. Other than victor who worked his socks off with the odd reward and our keeper who kept us in it it’s hard to take anything positive from the game. I never boo our players or shout abuse at them but they certainly weren’t getting a clap off the pitch from me tonight. Having said all that I thought Bolton were excellent and if that squad had started the season with a pre season behind them they’d be top 6 now without a shadow of a doubt.

I play on a Saturday so I sadly don’t get to many games so your opinions are worth 10x more than mine, but how awful was that.
I don’t know what he does but Ollie Clarke seems to suck the life out of the midfield, he doesn’t complement Upson and Agogo at all. Kelly got absolutely destroyed all game by their right winger, he couldn’t cope. I’ve never seen a rovers side rely so heavily on player before like this, relying on JCH even more than we relied on Lambert.
i couldn’t believe the constant hoofball. I can’t wait for GC post match reaction, I have no idea what he’s gonna say.

They’ve clearly got quality players for this level all over the pitch. It Boils my water that a few sides have played against their kids and turned them over by big scores. The EFL have massively f**ked up.

Same as Smith, apparently the GPS results from Saturdays game showed they were knackered and he was worried about them getting injured.

Shocking but no surprise. Bolton played the game that I assume is the first thing they teach you in coaching school. Look interested, pass and move, play to your strengths. Rovers tactics. Do none of the above, play with 7 defensive players and launch the ball to players to feed off scraps. Ollie being found out at this level. Nichols is a technical player but he has had more than enough chances to prove his worth. His skills and hold up play - which were missing tonight - hide the fact he is a striker employed to score goals. Not sure if other players are bad or just don't get GCs tactics. Keith Hill just did his homework. Expect more managers to follow

Sorry guys, as I've been away this was the first match I've attended this season and it's coincided with an absolute stinker of a performance.
Kelly, Nichols, Upson and Clarke were absolutely awful and that's putting it kindly. The back three were shaky but overexposed by the terrible performances of the wingbacks and midfield. Rodman was poor but at least looked like a footballer.
Agree with others that the only 2 to come out with any credit were Ogogo and Adeboyejo. Ogogo was mysteriously subbed and Victor sadly whilst he was committed, faded badly in the second half.
Bolton were streets ahead in every department and made us look like dicks.
Very very poor and the sooner JCH, Leahy, THD, Sercs are fit the better.

The team was just all wrong tonight.
Craig was awful tonight and at fault for the second goal. Upson was back to his worst with Ollie around him. Ollie was, well, awful. Misplaced passes, poor first touch, didn’t put a foot in, didn’t lead, did nothing. Kelly isn’t a lwb. Was awful and lightweight with no pace. Why drop Leahy? Rodman, was awful, wrong decision making, wayward passing and crossing. Nichols. Same as Clarke. But Smith was no better when he came on.
The only ones that came out with any credit tonight were Adeboyejo and Jakkola.
Tactically the manager picked the wrong team expecting Bolton to roll over and didn’t have the balls to drop Nichols and Clarke early in the game when it was obvious they were miles off the pace. GC has to take the blame for tonight. Absolutely terrible decision making.
Add to the fact we had Ketfle reffing made it for an even more of a terrible evening.
