Burton 485 walsall 621 bradford 761 cheltenham 774 crawley 412 morecambe 802 port vale 571
Some of tonight's games and like our last match in the competition some matches with no attendance figure. You do have to wonder if there is any point or use for this competition.
Ps i am not someone who has boycotted the competition. I would also add that the FA cup attendances were dreadful, not helped by the stupid sunday lunch time kick offs.
What will our attendance be tomorrow and will the club even announce the crowd figure?

Strange that Morecambe who usually have the smallest attendances out of those teams had the largest. Perhaps their fans wanted to see Derek Adams their new manager. But they are poor even if the clubs are usually those with low attendances. UTG!

Don't worry. One of the bigger clubs will get to the final, take 30,000 and Shaun Harvey will call it a success.

The decline of FA cup attendances does sadden me. There was a time those games were as respected as league games but now you just see rotated teams, low attendances and professional teams only taking it half seriously. There was little over 3000 home fans there on Sunday, it was only a few years ago that we would get that in the old JPT. I think Gasheads regard it as a competition that we usually never go beyond the first few rounds in so it’s not that worth getting behind. Only a cup run and a big team at the mem will really change that and we haven’t had a home tie in the third round or above since the Aston Villa game and that was 8 years ago. Needs to change.

We would have killed to play a jpt game against under 23 opposition when we were in the conference.
It’s all about priorities I guess...

It's a really good point. I genuinely wonder whether the boycott of the EFL trophy has had a knock on effect and it would be interesting to see trend in numbers over the last couple of decades. For instance, we had over 4k at home against Runcorn in 2002 despite being a very mediocre L2 side. Whereas previously many supporters will have attended all games by default, through force of habit if nothing else, a significant number will now have experienced what it's like not to attend for the first time and got used to the feeling.

Looking at the final tables for the Northern groups it could well be the U21 sides reaching the semi finals from the north and so potentially the final: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/football-league-trophy/table

The competition has obviously failed to gather fan interest. Time for a rethink.

They had a decent side out, minus international call ups of course. If Scunny could do that to last years finalists no wonder they cried off Saturday.

Either the league is much more important to them, or they are running scared. What a bunch of soft northerners.
