I think the sooner we get to safety and 53 points the better ... don’t see us getting any closer for the next few weeks though.

I think we're bigging Fleetwood up a bit here - they haven't played many in the top six so far and when they have they've generally lost. We haven't drawn an away game yet so I'll go for 1-1 and will be happy with that! Their recent home form is impressive whoever they have been playing, 6 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat v our away form of 5 wins, 3 draws if BG can keep GC's up and at them approach we could get a result, play tappy passing nonsense from the back and we could face a hammering.

It’s got ‘defeat’ written all over it.

Home win.
I hope I'm wrong but judging by the comments on here already Garner is in for a tough time. I can't believe I'm writing this after one game.
I really hope he's given a chance.

The general consensus on here pre GC's departure was that we were over achieving and that probably wouldn't last. Now it seems that we would have won on Boxing Day & have no chance today because he has left ? There's absolutely no reason we can't get a result today but no doubt if we don't it will all be down to the new manager despite us 'not being good enough to stay in the play offs' a few days ago. You really couldn't make it up

What a load of crap. They've played the other 5 of the top 6 (only us to play). Played 5, won 2, drew 2, lost 1.

play tappy passing nonsense from the back and we could face a hammering. Shouldn't that be open, expansive, entertaining attractive football that we've been waiting for so long?

Previously GC would have scared Barton - BG not so much! Expect them to be at us from the off!

You really couldn't make it up That’s become gaschat fact imo. I know because I was one of the few who was arguing that we were in a false position for months but kept getting shouted down for negativity and now he’s gone the whole world and his dog was apparently saying we were in a false position!! It’s very hard to claim a false position when you beat 2nd place to go 4th a week before Christmas. Whether you put it down to the quality of the league or just sheer bloody mindedness, Coughlan’s Rovers found a way to win and that isn’t a fluke. Without Coughlan we probably are in a false position because that X factor has been removed and as we saw against Wimbledon the fight wasn’t there. Where in the past we would come back and win with a late goal we got worse as the game wore on. It’s interesting that we also lost from a winning position- early indications are that Garner obviously can’t motivate a team at half time like Coughlan could and it may be something as simple as that that is the difference between a play off place and finishing lower mid table.
