With regard to disease control has a ban on cash transactions been considered? I’ve not seen it so far but surely with the ease of contactless cards and chip and pin surely this would help? I suspect that those who insist on using cash for their day to day shopping will be the older generation who are ironically those most at risk with this virus. Perhaps there should be one single checkout at the supermarkets for cash payments? The cashier head to foot in protective clothing like they’d just walked out of Chernobyl and long queues may make people change their ways? Eric have you worn a noddy suit for an hour let alone all day i suspect an awful lot of people would end up having panic attacks , surely they could hire one of those coin counters where you dump yer cash in and it totals it up like on the old severn bridge. I only like dealing with cash but wend prefers her contactless card so i can see the issues from both sides. Wend is trying to get some shopping delivered so far tesco ,morrisons and iceland have no dates available, this brings up another issue those who are self isolating like oap's will have no choice but to walk to the shops

Media hysteria and scaremongering is making people think someone like Hodgson ‘breaking his curfew’ would be arrested and hit with a 4 figure fine. Speak for yourself 😋 Anyone missing Brexit yet? Who said 2020 would be quiet? Grrr you ruddy remainers and yer bloody virus picking on those older brexiters just josing stu, but on another note, it was nice to see the eu getting behind italy and sending much needed equipment the unity is amazing

How would that they work out for Roy Hodgeson? He's what 72? If he has to self-isolate, how does he manage Crystal Palace, or does he get special dispensation? He's over 70 so would be like everybody else in that age bracket. He's not treated differently just because he's a football manager. The obvious thing for me would be for the assistant to take over and have regular contact with Hodgson over the phone/video conferencing. I suspect football will not be played again this year, i also suspect that players will be told to stay in trim on their own ,so in theory that will be that however if he did turn up for training every day and got ill ,well thats self inflicted and selfish

It is getting worse here. From tomorrow all non-essential shops are to close. Just food and chemists to remain open. So far 14 people have died in Germany. I have been working from home the last two days. I genuinely worry that She Who Casts No Shadow will survive if I have to be at home for two months.

Surely not! 😉

Over here in France there is now total lockdown. All Schools, Bars, Shops, Restaurants etc were previously closed . Now we are confined to our houses for a minimum of 2 weeks. We cannot leave at all without completion of a government form even just to go to the supermarket otherwise if caught we face being fined. Does there come a point at which the damage to people’s health through isolation and long term catastrophic impact on the economy, jobs etc outweighs the benefits of this current strict method of managing the situation? If tens of thousands of businesses are forced out of existence, people lose their jobs, less tax revenue, cuts to benefits/health.....will this lead to more deaths and health issues in the longer term? Eric the act of isolation will have a negative effect on peoples health, especially those who suffer from various mental illnesses, I have mental issues but i'm one of the lucky ones as if i had to isolate myself it really wouldn't bother me as i have always been ok in my own company and in the past have locked myself away for months on end. Others will not be so lucky and i suspect more than a few will suffer from diagnosed mental issues due to being isolated . I know several people who would be climbing the walls if they had to stay indoors i have a good friend over 70 who will be in his own company for a few months, but i can talk to him via skype so that's a positive i spose. There is also the reality that many from differing age groups have injuries or disabilities that can only be managed by walking and forcing their muscles to work, again theres a hell of a lot of people from all age groups who for one reason or another have a screwed up immune system. Then theres the scenario of thousands of job losses and the immediate effects on some of their mental health, again this will lead to many suicides alone. The reality i spose is a large portions of families who will lose someone they know so i believe the knock on effects of this virus will be around for a long time after its eradicated.

Why not save yourself a lot of time and stress and just ignore it? He will be the President of the USA for another four years. Just accept it.

So we are recovering now but for the last week we have been quite unwell and I'm tempted to suggest that it could well have been COVID19. Was a bit rough, I was the least affected but son and wife were poorly. Hopefully coming to the end of it now if it even was that.

Whatever it was you had,I hope you and the family are feeling better. I have to report back into the secondary office tomorrow! The guy who was suspected of having the virus has tested negative, so we are being called back in. Seems a bit of a strange decision as once we had been sent home and we've got everything working you would have thought that we should just carry on doing that ! The other crazy thing is that my company are making a fortune during this crisis!
