He is, and to be honest I have only heard good things about him. He was in line to be the Chief of Defence Staff but it's felt that he lost out because he was a Royal Marine, and instead the post went to an Army bod, Carter, who has not been doing that well.
Carter has been a disappointment but is due to move on soon. Magowan may get it but RMs tend to be overlooked which is a shame as they are ideal for joint force understanding. Carlton-Smith will probably get the post though, although his reputation in Afghanistan and elsewhere is much better. Look out for Adm Jerry Kyd in a few years. I was impressed with Kyd (?) in the series about the new QE carrier. He came across as one of those blokes who you would work hard for, plus you know that he'd take care of you. |

In response to Innee I have a condition whereby i have to force my muscles to work , or else i tend to seize up. I would normally visit the gym 3/4 times a week , but its a catch 22 by the way of leaving myself open to picking up the virus I use this, it is a Senior work out and great if you have to self isolate. Also exercises whilst in a chair. Don't know if they will be suitable for you? Very similar to some PD warrior exercises there Al cheers for that |

The situation in the shops is the same here as in the UK. So it is not a National thing, but a human thing.
Most shops are now closed with only shops classified as essential remaining open, so that is food, chemists, hairdressers and nail salons, I kid you not!
Germany is expected to announce a total lockdown this weekend. I already have my official piece of paper that will allow me to travel to work. For some reason, financial services are included in the list of vital jobs that need to keep going. I think the UK have the same thing. So when the Gestapo shout "papers" at me, I can produce them.
Merkel appeared on the tele the other night. She is a bit like the Queen in that usually she only addresses the German nation once a year at Xmas, so to see her speaking on the tele was quite rare.
