Whilst I would agree it doesn't seem much of a life ..it's only 3 months and in the long term if it keeps you safe and well it's worth it. I don't know your personal circumstances and I know for many life on their own in isolation is hard to imagine but I'm sure many organisations are there to help and support people through this . Seems every bit as bad as being given a prison sentence especially since all my hobbies are outdoors and being a bit of a fitness nut has helped keep me staying well in recent years and I believe helped me remain free of many of the various bugs and viruses which others seem to regularly pick up, especially in the winter months. I had open heart surgery 8 months ago to replace a congenitally defective valve with a mechanical one. All pretty straightforward and fully recovered very quickly and I don’t think this will have any bearing on being on ‘the list’. Being on 2 different immunosuppressants for Crohn’s might see me added to the list although I’m hoping that being relatively young (45), and otherwise fit and healthy I might not make the cut. When you look at all the listed conditions for people being categorised in this way it’s hard to see the number not being over 1.5m so hopefully I will escape!!! Good luck eric, hope all goes well for you. Keep posting. Stay safe. UTG!

I know so many others have had far bigger health issues than what I’ve had or not been able to get the things I’ve had under control so I know I’m lucky. I just don’t cope too well with these frustrating situations where all the things I enjoy and live for are taken away. Self isolation in an induced coma and left alone on my sofa hibernating for 12 months would be the best remedy for me!!! btw visited Wareham a few times as my family all live north of you in Sturminster Newton. Very nice part of the world - when you are allowed out to look at it!!

In the town most things have been available and we have a heathland behind our house which means we can get out and walk without seeing anyone. And we can still do that according to BJ! Difficult times. Stay safe mate and keep posting. UTG!

Will there be a fresh wave of panic buying after this latest announcement? It's interesting that when everyone was moaning about Tesco, ASDA, Sains, Morrisons etc all being out of food and empty shelves everywhere nobody seemed to think of M&S or Lidl. They are not the places I usually shop in but they were very well stocked when other supermarkets had been stripped bare.

So, if you have to go out for an essential visit with your 3 kids then that seems to be ok.

I don't think you will ever stop those greedy idiots(i was polite there), the shops look like we are having an extended xmas holiday with trolleys overflowing. It's not too difficult imagining some of these bellers demanding a refund on bog roll and other stuff they don't use when this is over. Try not to too stressed over nappies as there are alternatives, again have a wry smile as you know how quickly babbers grow, hopefully anyone who has stock piled nappies kids will out grow them in a few days. Not sure how old yer babbers try to get a few bottles of cows milk and stick em in the freezer , if you run out of talc for yer kids i have a bottle of medicated talc with your name on it you just need to pick it up, i also have a couple of spare bars of soap if you cant get none(adult soap) Thats about all the help i can give at present. One thing that really bothers me is how much of this stockpiled food will actually end up being wasted and ultimately thrown away. It's like being at a finger buffet where lots of people just grab everything they can see and fill their plates to overflowing meaning that people coming in later haven't got much left. Then you walk around an hour later and see the same greedy bastards with half full plates that they are scraping into the bin. They've just grabbed food for the sake of it, not cos they need it. I think it's going to be the same with the stockpilers. Surely they can't eat everything they have bought unless they are planning to put on weight. When they are trying to flog it online later on, no one should buy it. Let it clog up their houses

Be my pleasure. And I`ll have a Drambuie and Tizer. How about you, Nobby? I always thought you were a Dubonnet with a Twist sort of chap?
I shall just have a pint. I've given up the hard stuff, especially Tizer.
Sorted. When it`s all done, we`ll have a "Gone Viral" celebration in the Welly.

Will there be a fresh wave of panic buying after this latest announcement? If they do then people are more stupid then I think and are a disgrace with whats going on. I understand the need to buy goods when needed,as boris said last night ( eg: once a week) but if today people go crazy then I will lose alot of faith in mankind. I work for major supermarket and we have been told from our head office via the government that under no circumstances will we close our doors unless this virus was going to kill off billons around the world. Im off work today, but we are bringing in a ticket system to our front door to limit the amount of people in at one time, and also closing the use of the self checkouts and having bandit/ perspex screens installed at each checkout overnight tonight. Big retail shops wont close but will most likely go to Sunday hrs each day sometime this week.

If you limit opening hours to Sunday timings, won't that compress demand and cause bigger problems? No expert I, but I would have thought longer hours and rationing (relative) would be more appropriate?

Keepng the food supplies going is probably one of the most vital things the government have to do, and they are well aware of that. If the supermarkets were to shut it would lead to a complete breakdown in society. you can go back as far as the Romans to see just that.

I've seen this in the news. Looks like it was reported a day or two ago.
"" A paramedic has described being evicted from his home because his landlady was concerned that he could spread Covid-19 at the property, raising further concerns that medical staff are being stigmatised because of their contact with the virus.
Joseph Hoar, a paramedic for South Western ambulance service, tweeted on Saturday night that he had been asked to leave his home by text message within 24 hours because the owner was “super nervous about having someone from the NHS here”.
“It’s only a matter of time before you are in contact with the virus,” a screenshot of the WhatsApp message said. “Can you organise an Airbnb and collect your stuff tomorrow. Sorry I normally would never do this but it’s not worth the risk.” ""
Blimey.

And yet another news report of actions that could cost lives.
"" Six ambulances were vandalised over the weekend despite paramedics and other NHS staff facing huge pressure as they battle the coronavirus outbreak.
The vehicles' tyres were deliberately damaged overnight between Saturday and Sunday in Thanet, Kent. "Beyond disappointed that anyone would do this ever, let alone now when our staff are under so much pressure," the South East Coast Ambulance service said in a post on Twitter.
"This is in such contrast to the vast majority of the public who are being fantastically supportive of our staff."
Maintenance staff were able to get the vehicles back in service with minimal disruption, the service confirmed.
Quick to express her outrage over the incident, meanwhile, Tracey Crouch, MP for Chatham and Aylesford, said: "I know MPs are supposed to be polite etc but whoever did this is an utter scroat.". “Just what goes through the mind of someone who does this, never mind during a pandemic?," she questioned.
“Thanks to the team for getting them back on the road ASAP.” ""
Good use of the word scroat!!

I agree it would, but like I say my company is putting in a ticket system in place over the next few days and putting yellow markers on the floor 2 metres away from each other to stand behind.Ive heard that we are only letting 50 people in at one time which I cant believe for the life of me will work. I think people will start to listen now.The sunday last week was the busiest we ever had in terms of money taken and for pure footfall in the store. From 10am to 3pm on avg there must had been 2k/3k plus in store with every till open ,where as two days ago we have two tills open all day and an avg of maybe 200 in at one point. I see supermarkets go dead for a week as people will be scared then it will pick up again next week as people get bored and need to get out.
