Lots of Terry Fuckwits still walking the streets at the moment. Wouldn't it be great to have Roger Mellie deliver the 6 o'clock news for a couple of evenings.

I agree, ( for once ) with Gas365. We`re wallowing in the worst, most fear mongering aspect of this outbreak. I check out the headlines first thing in the morning, and that`s it for the day. I go to work, ( I know I`m lucky to still be able to do this ) I do my shift, and try to keep things as normal as poss. I spend eight hours taunting the sh1theads and getting it back in return. I keep my head down, and trust the scientists and the politicians ( God help me ) to get things back to normal as quickly as they can. I shop for my mother ( 90 ) and two of her aged friends, which helps make me feel more positive about myself, and therefore better able to cope. Mankind seems to like to horrify and terrify itself. Witness all the horror/disaster films that make so much money at the box office. I don`t know why. You have kids William? Grown up. With kids of their own. I also have a wife, who`s been told to self isolate for the foreseeable future, because of the severity of the asthma that she suffers. And a mother who`s self isolated for a couple of years now, not because of a virus, but because she`s too frail to leave the house. So, if you`re implying that the reason I`m able to maintain a life without fixating on this outbreak, is because I have no one to worry about or care for, you`re as wrong about that as you are about everything else.

Yes, I have two grown up kids with kids of their own. We talk and try find the humour, where it exists. The thing I am concerned about most is the future for the grandkids. In the States I have one who has been sent home from Uni, in the last semester of year 2, a 17 year old about to sit his SATs and a 13 year old. I worry about the impact on their education and prospects thereafter. In Singapore I have twin girls as grandchildren but they are under 2 and therefore those concerns will not apply. So I agree with you, and others, that this constant updating, the style of which goes between self flagellation and hero worship, is over played and becoming tedious. The thing we should be thinking about is those that will live the next half century plus after this.

Is he still looking to fill out the churches for Easter? At least he isn't as bad as the President of Belarus. 'God and vodka' is all they need, apparantly.

Silly me, I could have put lives at risk by forgetting that.

Due to an unforeseen set of circumstances me and Mrs Scoobydoo are locked down in different parts of Bristol. Long story. It's doing my head in. Definitely feeling a bit like Buster Gonad right now.

Just heard my sister in law may have it, being told by her transplant team to self isolate. Bit close to home now.

Hopefully the older ones will pick up where they left off, surely though they could have a lecture or two a day via laptop or pc ,just hope they keep studying under their own steam whilst lockdown continues, although looking at the amount of ejits walking around kids over here should do some extra learning rather than walking around with friends, why do some seem to not understand stay away from others. The daily release of figures is ok but only if they are accurate, I posted a few pages back about figures being distorted by those who have died in isolation ,only to hear that the only death that were counted were hospital deaths, i mean unbelievable either get it as accurate as possible or don't bother. As i feel if theres a sudden mass rise in numbers to include those not previously counted then that could push more than a few people over the edge.

Remember the vast majority will be fine, medical condition or not. Dont take any chances though. Check in regularly with medical services. How would you advise doing that? The advice I’ve seen says to only get in touch if the early symptoms persist for longer than a few days and you have difficulty breathing. What concerns me is how much advance notice the virus gives you before you start sailing close to the wind? I’m guessing it’s quite a gradual decline and not suddenly fairly normal to unable to breathe? And to echo the sentiment all the best to your sister Stu and indeed, to everyone else who is struggling with this virus at the moment.
