They’re all just like the GOP 🇺🇸. People actually vote for this lot believe it or not . typical people just vote for the lowest common denominator. seriously though, no one really wears a mask now, so why should the powerful elite? I’m still wearing mine in shops etc

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58259604Most Tory MPs did not wear face masks during a packed Commons debate, despite government guidance to do so in crowded areas. More opposition MPs than Conservatives covered their faces, as MPs sat shoulder-to-shoulder to discuss developments in Afghanistan. ——— And they wonder why people don’t follow guidelines? Whilst I would have preferred to see every MP wearing a face mask don't the government guidelines state " We expect and recommend that members of the public continue to wear face coverings in crowded and enclosed spaces where you come into contact with people you don’t normally meet. For example, on public transport". Don't MPs normally meet each other in the House of Commons ? Also how many of us here attended the Mansfield and Stevenage games before the Commons debate and did you all wear a mask whilst talking, singing, shouting whilst in a crowded area with people around you that you don't normally meet.

Well no, it was the first time together so they mixed hundreds of people from around the country and sat next to each.. the question has to be, why didn’t the Tories wear masks but the opposition did? Then on top of that, Boris was spotted not wearing a mask in the supermarket the other day - again, leading by example? I don’t know about the games as I haven’t been yet. But a few points firstly, being outside is unbelievably different than being inside, I’m sure you can appreciate that? Secondly I don’t think Rovers fans are elected officials who represent their area and lead by example? Finally, I’m not even sure the guidelines were to wear masks outside in a stadium? (Not sure in the final point?)

I’m still wearing mine in shops etc Compulsory here to wear a mask in shops . Down where I was in France last week , people were wearing masks but 50% had it just covering the mouth not the nose. Pretty pointless really !

38.5k new cases and 140 deaths. It ain’t getting better is it ? Wait till the schools go back! Saw something on BBC earlier today that with Delta variant Pfizer drops from 88% to 74% after 5-6 months and AZ from 77% to 66% - or something similar. Worrying tbh, I just wonder how long we keep funding vaccines until it becomes private healthcare? No doubt 5+ years, but we can’t surely keep vaccinating the entire nation with 2+ doses per year?

Isn’t there some sort of deal with the drug companies , that after a couple of years they ramp the price up massively? I’m sure I read something like that a while back.

The good thing is there are hundreds of vaccines in development which will drive prices down, but typically drugs get a 20 year patent, of which 8 years are spent in R&D and trials. This was all done in 1 year, so don’t expect much drop for a while. Although tbf, thankfully the Oxford one is not for profit

Not sure where those UK figures come from. On the UK Gov website it states as at the 26th Aug 88.2% of the population aged 16+ have had the first dose and 78.0% the second dose. Not like the French to over exaggerate their figures to try to get one over the UK is it!!

I can confirm it is the case regarding a previous covid infection in France. Our neighbour got covid and only needed one dose to be classed as fully vaccinated. He had to wait 6 months being covid free from the initial positive test before he could receive the vaccination.
