Yep, go out out and panic buy as many non essential items as possible, might as well stock up on Christmas goods.
The next season of lockdown is coming soon!

I’m surprised that francegas hasn’t been on here lately to congratulate the EU countries on how well they’ve done , with the vaccinations and death rates comparatively with Go Boris! Johnson’s uk 🇬🇧? He was all over it a few months ago . 🤷♂️

Ok , maybe the old EU countries? Dunno not verified it , but the fundamental point still stands up . We’re doing an awful job of it and the other western EU countries are doing much much better . I’d hope an expect we’d be doing better than the likes of Romania 🇷🇴 plus other eastern Eu countries wouldn’t you Oliver ?

He was all over it a few months ago . 🤷♂️ Instead of making a sweeping statement like that expecting me to investigate every European/Eu countrys individual figures and comment how about you detailing country by country. Try listing against every country.... number of vaccines administered, number of people vaccinated with first and second dose, % of people vaccinated with first and second dose. Then detail number of tests in every country (think you'll find the UK is the European leader) job in that field. Then detail death numbers and death rates for every country (think you'll find UK is not the worst on death rates per million) Lastly please detail how every country counts a covid death and ensure we're all on a level playing field. As I said previously, which was dismissed by people here, when I told french friends here who work in the medical profession how the UK counts a covid death they laughed and said thank god France doesn't do that as numbers would be sky high. Yatton you went to France recently so must be aware that it's a country of anti vaxxers . It was blackmail by Macron which got their numbers of vaccinated up. He basically said no one will be able to to go to a bistro, restaurant, bar, shopping centre, cinema, theatre etc unless they were doubled jabbed. We have to show our vaccine passport just to have a coffee outside on a terrace. Imagine if Boris said the same you'd all be over it like a rash ! Anyway look forward to you or Oldie providing the above info and I'll happily reply.

I just posted the actual numbers for the day this idiot was referring to.I agreed with your general point (we’re fecked,uk sh** show) but the tweet you posted is factually way out and an attempt to back a point that has backfired on the tweeter. He is definitely the one trying to spin the numbers and I have zero interest/reason to do the same.

To be honest I think it's a pretty pointless debate making international comparisons at the stage of the pandemic. The Parliamentary report on this Government's handling of the pandemic in the UK is enough of a verdict for me. In short, it was very damming of the Government, authored by two of its own party members. Regardless of what the authorities in France, Germany or any of our neighbours are doing, it's a sh** show in the UK, the vaccination programme being the only spot of light in 18 months.

I caught an interview on Radio 5 the other day with a Conservative member of the Select Committee who had his name to that report (not the 2 authors). His stance was pretty much government should have asked more questions of the scientists and that they were provided with incorrect data when making their decisions. Talk about passing the buck, it was the first time I'd heard the presenter start to sound angry. Sadly though, several people texted in afterwards saying it's time to move on.

Been vaccinated? Most loved ones around her been vaccinated? Delete it, get on with your lives. she was quite ill and off work for two weeks . Yes , we are vaccinated. just because most people have been vaccinated doesn’t mean you can just crack on without a care in the world . 45k cases and 150-200 deaths a day . 🙄

Proper ventilation measures in schools , masks in indoor places , proof of vaccination to go to public events etc ? I’m all for going back to normal ASAP but if cases are high and still rising as we go into winter a few mitigating measures would help . I get it that everyone is thoroughly bored rigid with it but just because people have had enough doesn’t make it go away. A COVID jab doesn’t make you immune , it’s great but not full proof .

Going on my first business trip later this month in ages - gonna be f*cking weird.
The flight cost is insane... £850 to Copenhagen!

I get it that everyone is thoroughly bored rigid with it but just because people have had enough doesn’t make it go away. A COVID jab doesn’t make you immune , it’s great but not full proof . Where do you think most transmission takes place? It’s not public transport or shops, it’s private homes, bars/clubs etc. Even if masks are effective, they wouldn’t be used where they would make a difference. Covid passports don’t do all that much when the vaccines aren’t great at stopping the transmission of delta. Wales/Scotland/NI have the measures you describe, and how are they doing? Worse than England for the most part. I’m sure if it was the other way around people would be using it as evidence to bring those measures in, but what’s your explanation now? While deaths are sad, 150 a day in a population of 68m isn’t that much, similar numbers to how many die a day from flu on average winter, for which no one bats an eyelid. Most of those deaths are unvaccinated, and now people have the choice to protect themselves, the rest of us shouldn’t have to change our lives to protect those who willingly accept the risk. You can nosh yourself off to all the fear porn you can find every day, but for the rest of us life goes on and this **** is over.
