What was the attendance today? Also strange that harries has not appeared at all yet? Attendance was low but it’s typical Rovers to get a rare win during a bad run of form in front of a small crowd and a poor result during a good run of form in front of a big crowd. It’s how we roll. Harries is a strange one last I heard he was waiting international clearance. But that was 2 weeks ago I’m surprised the question hasn’t been asked in interviews but we’ll find out soon enough I suppose.

They are battering us! where are the BG backers... WHERE ARE YOU? LETS BE HAVING YOU! Shock horror you made no comment once the team turned it around. Your short stint on the forum has been nothing more than slagging off everything at every opportunity. Some Gasheads you’d want with you in the trenches , looking around in the conference season they were there. Some just aren’t cut out for it.

Alfie a future captain if ever I've seen one. What a strike by the way.

Just another example of a Gashead that would happily see us lose just to say "I told you so". No matter what happens on and off the pitch it's the rise of "fans" like this that make me wonder why I bother going on a Saturday.

I was thinking that they deliberately failed to announce the attendance as it would be typical of this regime. Good to hear harries was there today.

Some Gasheads you’d want with you in the trenches , looking around in the conference season they were there. Some just aren’t cut out for it. Just another example of a Gashead that would happily see us lose just to say "I told you so". No matter what happens on and off the pitch it's the rise of "fans" like this that make me wonder why I bother going on a Saturday. This season is the first time that I’ve ever felt really disenchanted with our support. We’ve always had the odd Numpty on here or st matches saying that our manager hasn’t got a clue as he’s taken us to promotion or that our best forward is useless as he’s consistently been our top scorer as we’ve been promoted you know the score. But this season so many felt and were quite open about the fact that they couldn’t bring themselves to support a manager who had taken us from rock bottom to mid table last season and then to 3rd this season with an average at best squad for the level we’re at. , gave him loads of stick , even when he said in the press he was sick of it , get behind us we can achieve good things don’t take things out on my family we are top 6 in league 1 etc it carried on and he left - I don’t blame him, I wouldn’t keep myself away from my wife and three young kids for that either. So he leaves and then people on here are calling him a lady garden. Disgusting. Then Garner comes in and it’s mostly the same people calling for him to go. Maybe it’s just a sign of the way people are these days and not exclusive to Bristol Rovers fans but everything I’ve told people over the years about how supporting Rovers is so brilliant and how we are so loyal through thick and thin , I still feel it because I’m still living it but i look around and I just don’t see it so much anymore. I’m still proud to be a Gashead don’t get me wrong and I’ll keep supporting Garner , he’s not like buckle or McGhee he’s a very nice bloke a fantastic coach and perhaps given time he’ll become a very good manager too. If he does then we’ll be in very good hands.

The young players BG has brought in are different class to our League 1 plodders and should start against Sunderland. Not sure about the 4-3-3 though Yep, Barrett should be starting every game.

Barrett looks slow , overweight and not that good in his cameo appearances so far. All the other news signings are full of energy and have done well. I’m not writing him off yet but he reminds me of Lawrence a few years ago but a younger version , he’s got the ability but can his body do what his head tells it ? So no from what I’ve seen. Get him fit and we may have a good playmaker on our hands.

Not many on it I’d imagine . We’re either an amazing run or an absolutely terrible one I’m talking 8 wins - loses in a row to be either in contention for promotion or relegation now and we’re basically turning up to see what Garner is building for the future. It won’t keep me away though , I’m genuinely interested. It’s like the biggest pre- season ever and regarding league 1 status it’s 5 seasons in league 1 playing in a non league ground so it could be worse.

This weekend sees the visit of the seasiders, Blackpool. It seems a long time ago since they beat us 2-0 at the start of the season, Blackpool fans were riding the crest of a wave with the noose around their neck finally lifted, with the departure of the Oyston's. A few new additions including the impressive Sulley Kaikai a player BG will know all about (Ex-Palace), and a new manager in Simon Grayson. As a gashead who knew what to expect? After a brilliant end to the season for 18/19, I expected GC's "Irish luck" to run out a little and end up about mid table under him. Anyway, here we are 6 months later and with us on a 14 game winless run, we are somehow 2 points above them. This shows 2 things. 1)Just how much GC surpassed my expecations, and 2) How Blackpool have disappointed. I should probably also mention that Blackpool have only won 1 in 10, and have just this week sacked Grayson. I'm sure the manager bounce, might have some sort of effect. I mean it always does, doesn't.... (never mind). Somehow despite our ridiculously awful form, I am feeling more positive than I probably should be. We look much worse defensively under BG's stewardship, also less streetwise. However some of the new additions have shown promise and you can see what BG is trying to achieve, even if he has been very unsuccessful with it so far. The main worry for me when he first arrived was lack of chances, however we now seem to be creating these. If we keep creating then we will eventually start putting them away. I'm going to stick my neck out, and back BG and the boys for our first win under him. Bristol Rovers 2-1 Blackpool. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!Nice work Bumper. Sunderland, whas rekon ?

The thing I've noticed about him is that he always wants the ball. He seems to be able to find little pockets of space that none of our other midfielders are able to do.

He has talent but he really needs some developing. I really wanted him to come on yesterday, but felt a bit disappointed when he did come on as he was constantly trying to do it all himself and rarely passing the ball. I get the feeling he thinks he's too good for this division, which from what I've seen is definitely not the case. Not yet anyway. He needs to get stuck in, lose some weight, improve his fitness & learn to play as part of a team and he'll go on to have a fantastic career.
